New Dawn

Alex felt hot as the bright light was all around him now. Yet there, standing infront of him were large gates and a couple of people standing there. Getting closer, he saw his parents, and his sister, Katie. He smiled at her and walked closer. Giving her a hug, he started to cry. Turning around he saw a clear ball showing him dead, and Nikka moving around sad and tears of pain. Looking back up he saw a figure there.

"You are not holy, nor part of the devil. You will still be back here to Heaven, but we will change you back into a person, a human being. Yet a spirit in other words."

Alex nodded his head and smiled. He cried for a while, till the gates started to open and he walked through them.

Nikka bit her lip, and glanced down at the bottle still in her hands. She made her way back to Alex, trying to ignore the blank look on his face, and unbuttoned the shirt he had worn to the dance. She then took the top off the bottle once more, and began to trace the tattoo with the liquid, as the note had instructed.

Alex could feel something on his body and looking down he saw that the tattoo was glowing. The dragon was brighter then ever, and he felt hot and cold at the same time.

Nikka finished tracing the tattoo, and watched Alex closely, willing him to move. The tattoo seemed to be giving off some kind of glow, but nothing other than that was happening. She began to have her doubts, but she shook them off quickly.

Turning around Alex saw the strange figure looking at him. He turned his head and pointed. "Looks like it's not your time my friend. Go back to life."

With that Alex flew away and from the light. He waved at his sister, and parents, with tears in his eyes.

Nikka placed a hand on his neck, and felt for a pulse. She waited a moment, and sure enough, something was there. It was slow and faint, but it was definantly there. She smiled, and waited.

Alex opened up his eyes to see Nikka there looking at him. He moved his hands out for a hug, "Sister." He then closed his eyes and fell asleep.

Nikka the inside of her cheek to keep the tears back. She smiled slightly, but that turned into a frown as she realized something. She was being selfish. What if Alex wanted to stay with his family..? What if he'd gotten tired of eternal life on Earth, and wished to return to his family. She bit her lip.

Yet with another look, he formed a smile at Nikka. He then touched her smooth skin, that smelled like hot sweat, and perfume. "Thanks, Nikka. I love you." He started to cry, but cried himself back to sleep.

Nikka smiled back, and sighed slightly. "I love you too, Alex.." she murmered, resting her head on the bed next to him.

The next morning, Alex moved around, but stayed asleep. His heart rate was almost back to normal, yet his lungs were not doing so well. His chest went up some, Alex would cough, then opened his mouth to bring in air.

Nikka woke up and yawned slightly, before realizing that Alex was coughing. She sat up, and narrowed her eyes in concern. "Broken ribs..?" she mumbled to herself.

Sleeping for awhile, Alex moved in his sleep. His breath was even now, but the cough was still there. Could it be the holy water that was in his lungs? It didn't feel like his ribs were broken. He moved the blanket over his stomach and fell asleep again.

Nikka sat back at watched Alex for a moment. She chewed on a fingernail, thinking. So many mysteries... too much going on.. she sighed, and attepmted to clear her head.

Sleepwalking, Alex removed the rest of his shirt, pants, shoes, and socks. He pulled new pants out of the closet and put them on. He coughed a lot and once he got to the bed, he laid down and coughed. His eyes were shut the whole time. Still dreaming of things.
