Kakurenbo: Hide and Seek

[Isaac]

The game of Otokoyo is played in the ruins of an abandoned city, where the lights flicker on and off. It is a game of 'hide and seek,' played between innocent children and horrible demons who hunt them down, thus the children go missing. The game requires that seven children appear to play but strangely there is always an 8th child... Each child must wear a fox mask in order to play. Once the last child arrives, the gates to the city will open and the game begins. Reasons for playing can remain a mystery. Aside from being pursued by demons, they are also victims to the one who is "it."

Explaination of the Four Demons and "It":

Kimotori — The liver taker (a strange red humanoid).
Chitori — The blood taker (a horned lion that wears a tarp over its back).
Aburatori — The oil takers (two small, identicle demons, one sitting on a cart, and the other pulling said cart).
Kotori — The child taker (spider-like demon with eight arms).

Oni (It) — The demon, or ogre. It wears the appearance of the mysterious 8th child who always appears, except when the fox mask is removed and its face appears to be demonic. It began the game in order to capture children and use them as a power source to keep the lights of the city glowing brightly. Of the other 7 children who play the game, the last one left alive is given the demons mask and proclaimed "it." There are no refusals.

Kichisaburou sat on a bench near the gate that led into the city. His pale hands were clasped in his lap and his sandled feet were swinging lightly above the dirty ground. Green eyes were downcast to the ground. He had been waiting for more children to arrive, slightly anxious to begin the game of Otokoyo. The lights that hung on either side of the gate flickered from dim to bright in an erratic pattern and played with his shadow on the ground.

Ayame made her way through the brush surrounding the city walls. She was taking a small detour. Prolonging her arrival. She didn't want to be left behind, but she wasn't sure she wanted to play either. It sounded horrific, but then again, it sounded fun as well. She sighed, and let her black hair whirl around her face before tucking it behind her ear. Ayame took a deep breath, and began walking towards the gate once more.

[Shans]

Sakura dashed towards the gate, feeling quiet excited to be playing this game. She did not yet understand the dangers of the game I guess. She spied a boy sitting on a bench near the gate. She walked up to him, "Hi! Are you playing too?"

[Isaac]

Kichisaburou looked up as a girl began talking to him. He smiled softly and nodded. "Yes, I'm playing...", he responded.

[Blastotoise]

"What have I gotten myself into..." Marley said as he looked at the city. "This won't end well....."

[Fantasylion]

Ayame sighed, and stepped into the small clearing around the gate. She smiled slightly at those already gathered, and sat down on a bench near them.
"Hello," she said quietly, touching the necklace she was wearing.
