Arr, mateys! Ye'll be readin' Blackbird or walkin' the plank! [/Talk Like a Pirate Day Jargon]
Plot Summary: Er... I don't want to spoil anything... I could give you the very, very basics, but you'll get those from the first four pages anyway. Just read it yourself!
Art: It's manga. It's complete and total manga. I don't expect to hear any complaints about the art, because even if you're NOT an anime geek, the art is made of WIN, even without color. And even in the beginning. Ok? Ok. Well, actually... at the very beginning it wasn't great. So Shilin... decided to redo the beginning. Yeah. So we're currently in the middle of one of those nasty reduxes (The original version starts here, and this is roughly where the new version ends... there are a few minor plot differences between the two, as well. Like, in the old version, Veloce is less emo, but Blackbird is less awesome.)
Things to know: Yeah, when I said it was complete and total manga? I mean it's complete and total manga. This means that pages are read RIGHT TO LEFT! Remember that or you're likely to get lost!
Favorite Strips: How adorable! Yeah, Blackbird wasn't nearly that cool in the old version. Aaand Weirin = favorite character.

"Irregardless" and "Over exaggerated" are NEVER CORRECT EVER because they are redundant
Regardless means "without regard", and adding "ir" on the front actually makes it a double negative; exaggerate means "to overstate" so you're literally saying "over overstate."
Example: I can not exaggerate the importance of this fact enough, regardless of how often people ignore it.

Aaahh! Left to right!
Ok, gotta try to force myself to read this to stay in the club...but, I have REAL troubles reading left to right >> I'll do my best....urp...
Edit: Read the first 50 pages, and it was hurting my head. I was one that could never read manga >>
Art was really cool. I'll give that 2 thumbs up.

And Shilin understands that not everyone is an avid manga reader. That's why there's an arrow on the top of the page.

Despite the arrow, it's suprisingly hard to change the entire way you read on a whim.
I'll post more when I can.

Stevenson's Vocabulary Word of the Week:
Foment: (verb) To excite or arouse, i.e. 2014's Week of Randomness hopes to foment some activity on the forums.
Stevenson's Latin Phrase of the Week:
Brutum Fulmen: (senseless thunderbolt) This phrase, coined by Pliny the elder, is used to refer to an empty threat.

As much as I like manga reading from right to left so the art doesn't have to get mirrored, it's quite hard to get used to in a webcomic, especially with all the back and forward arrows being opposite as well.
That aside, I like the art and the story seems to be off to a good start. Unfortunately, that's about all I can say since said story hasn't really had time to go much of anywhere yet. So yeah, what's there is cool but there's nowhere near enough of it to make a real judgement.
Oh, and vivvav, you've really got to start posting a bit more about each comic. Just saying "It was awesome" or "I don't like it" doesn't really say much.

True, Josiah, very true.
I think the cool thing about this comic is just the whole concept. Some mortal nerd becomes obsessed with the protection of a witch. A witch with knives. The combo of magic and sharp things is cool. Heck, just sharp things is cool.
See? Cool!
Okay, he has a point. When does this update.
