Actually, there was a Celebi event that ran for a month or two this summer although it only happened in a handful of cities. Anyway, it's over now so you'll either have to: trade with someone who got one at the event, wait for them to have another event, or cheat.

He hasn't been on lately for some reason. And he's weeks late to start it (well... months really). He claims it's because he thinks people have forgotten about it, so if he did start it, no one would actually do anything. But, honestly, that's not really that big of a problem. Worst case scenario, we put it in Silver's siggy, seems to have worked before.

Your rank changes depending on your post count. If you're a mod, you can change your title to any pokemon title (usually ledgendary). If you won a catagory in the Pebble Version Awards held yearly (next one is next year) you get a title of any nonledgendary shiny pokemon. Hence how I got Altaria.
If you did something outstading on the forums or IRL (Like Neo) Josiah will change your title reflecting on your achievement.
If you did something reallllly bad, he'll change your title to either slugma or metapod.

It's really unneccesary, and here's why:

Firstly, I don't really know how neccesary the rp mod was in the first place.

Secondly, we have a new Super Mod (Silver), so adding *another* mod to the RP section is kind of silly, considering how it's actually one of the less popular sections, at least as far as mod stuff goes.

The RP mod was a pretty useful position for a while. See, back when I created it there were a lot of very active RPs going on that I was not a part of and didn't have time to read or mod. Simeon, on the other hand, was much more active and was in most of those RPs. Now however, the RP section is moving at a much slower pace and, as Stevenson pointed out, we've got Silver as a Super Mod so I think we're good.

...Okay, so the last post in this thread was over two years ago, but it's a stickied topic and I don't think what I'm going to say really goes into Saying Hi or the Rant thread... So I shall post here. I apologize in advance if it's in the wrong place.

So, as some of you know, I go to UCSD. We are apparently a pretty liberal school, and our university "image" is of our uniquely-shaped Geisell Library.
Sometime last night or this morning, someone placed a noose in the library.
The whole campus has been in an uproar for more than a week now because an off-campus party was held by undisclosed persons, mocking the point of Black History Month. UCSD administration found this highly offensive (for obvious reasons) and sent a mass e-mail condemning the party and its participants. Several panels were held across campus to explore why racism and such things still exist in the common era.
A few days ago, on the student-sponsored TV channel, a controversial (student-run) newspaper group aired a video. It had many racial slurs and insults in it, and people were shocked to see it on TV. The video wasn't properly authorized for airing, and they're still trying to find out how it got in. This led to general spurning of the newspaper group, and I think it's been shut down.
But now the noose.
I just spent about an hour at a rally held in University Center, in front of the library. There was an endless line of people going up to talk about what's going on, and how they feel. People even came from other colleges, like UCLA. I won't go into too much detail about what they said. By the time I left, too hungry to pay attention, they were chanting "shut it down" in an effort to get administration to close the school so that all students can attend the rallies instead of going to class, because they felt this issue was much more important than classes.
My TA is explaining during section right now about how this whole fiasco is going to impact us all. UCSD is apparently getting a lot of media coverage right now, and he says that in the future, we might end up in a situation where someone says to us, "Oh, you came from UCSD? Isn't that the racist school?"

I personally have never been racially insulted, in all of the 19.5 years I've been alive. If it's happened before, it would've been so long ago that I don't remember it anymore. No one's ever seriously made fun of who I am, what I believe in (or rather what I don't believe in), my sexual orientation, anything. The rally this morning is making me realize I've been having a very sheltered life, and I feel bad that people are still discriminating against minorities.
But to be honest, the rally kind of scared me. Some of the things the speakers were saying made me afraid someone would object violently. There was a lot of anger in there. I kept half-expecting people with guns to show up and start shooting for some reason. Maybe three or four of the speakers called out the students walking past, stuff like "You see everyone standing here... and then you see the people walking by. Yeah, you. Just try and keep walking. You guys just don't care about this, do you?" or "How many people here took US history in high school? Well, I bet all those people in class right now, or those people walking past, are the ones that either slept through those classes or chose to ignore their lessons."
The entire atmosphere of the rally frightened me, but I didn't want to leave and be lumped together with the people that don't care, because I do. I don't like what's going on. But I'm also too timid to really do anything about it. And it's really, really bothering me.

Unfortunately, a lot of the big "anti-racism" type people really like to point fingers where there isn't a need. Is there still racism today in the US? Yes, a bit. Is it really all that bad? For the most part, no. Unfortunately, if racism isn't that bad than the anti-racism crusaders don't have much to complaint about and they don't like that so they generally blow things that do happen way out of proportion. Heck, there were a ton of people accused of racism simply because they didn't vote for Obama (you may have noticed that I actually did a blooper reel comic to that affect back during election time). In extreme cases, the "anti-racism" people can actually become racist themselves, just against other races (like whites or asians). Of course, according to political correctness, if you're a racist against the majority race, it doesn't count so that's fine.

Unless you really want to show your support at those rallies and enjoy being there (which it sounds like you don't) then go to class, study, or do whatever else you want to do instead. There's no reason that your school work or personal life should suffer because a handful of racist idiots caused a little trouble. The rallies will die down eventually and the people at the rallies aren't going to do anything (except maybe whine, which is generally all they're good at) if you don't go. If they do start hassling you, go to campus security, a dean, or (if things are really bad) the police and tell them what's going on.
