Pebble Version Merchandise

Ok, I've got some questions and I'd really appreciate it if everyone gave their opinion. I've said this before but for those of you who don't know, Pebble Version isn't something I make much money off of. It's made enough to pay for the web hosting fees and a little extra here and there but it makes very little compared to how much time I put into it. Not that I started PV to make money (I enjoy doing it) but making some more money certainly wouldn't hurt, especially considering the time involved. These questions have to do with that. And, depending on your reactions, I might later post similiar questions on the main website.

1. Would you ever consider buying Pebble Version merchandise?
2. If so, what kind of PV stuff would you want to buy? Possibilities include shirts, buttons, mouse pads, or pretty much anything else available through Cafe Press. Suggestions welcome.

Now for part 2.

Seeing as Nintendo owns everything Pokémon, I'd have to get their permission to sell stuff with copyrighted material on it, which probably isn't going to happen. Although I haven't tried so you never know. Anyway, that means any PV merchandise CAN NOT feature Brendan, May, any pokémon, pokéballs, and the like.

However they COULD feature drawings of Xain and/or Cali, the Black Suite Guys, or other original characters (although it'd have to be drawings not sprites since edited sprites are still sorta Nintendo's property) (drawings of obscure in game characters like the Grass Kid could possibly work as well). They could also have lines from the comic as long as they don't speciffically say "pokémon" "torchic" or anything else Nintendo could take issue with.

With all that taken into account, what suggestions do you have for characters and/or quotes that could appear on PV shirts or other merchandise? Here's a couple sample ones just to get started (please feel free to comment on the samples too).

Ideas:

Xain:
"The Supreme Master of Coolness is in the house"
"Awesome Xain. getting lost one step at a time."
"I'm not lost, it's all part of my plan."

Cali:
"Your clothes are at least a week out of style."
"You must be at least this fashionable to talk to me."

Grass Kid:
"Beware the grass!"

Misc:
"Pebble Version, because Rubies and Sapphires are too expensive."
"Lovey-Dovey Plush Dolls, because Awesome Xain is so five minutes ago."
"Lovey-Dovey Plush Dolls, the most popular non-existant item ever."

You should definatly have a shirt of the grass kid on his knees, screaming to the sky "Beware the Grass!"

Anyways, it would also help if you tossed Nintendo an email with a link to your comic and asking for permission. Even though you don't think it'll work, doesn't hurt to ask.

Ooh, or Tubbo standing in Littleroot and screaming to the sky, "WHERE"S MY HOUSE?!?"

Can't use either one of them Doodle, those characters are copyrighted (except for the grass kid) by Nintendo.

How about a TV, and playing on it is:

"John! I love you" "But I'm your Brother!"

And I'm not John, I'm his evil twin's clone!"

And, well, I think everyone knows how I feel about the Grass Kid.

I could do some orginal artwork and use it to make mouse matts and some other stuff like T-shirts. profit would go towards Josiah as well, cos of the free hosting and all.


If you need some artwork for the PV stuff, like drawings of the grass kid or orginal characters, let me know. I'll do 'em for you.

In my next PV news post I'll ask people what they think. If I get a positive response, we'll choose maybe two PV designs and two ROM designs to start out with and see how it goes.

So Shauni, starting thinking of two different ROM designs that could go on T-Shirts and the like (they should include art, maybe a qoute, and the ROM logo) and I'll decide on two PV ones (suggestions are welcome). And yeah, if you don't mind I might have you do some of the PV art.

Not a problem. I'd welcome suggestions to. I was thinking of doing one with Mu-chan or maybe the on Silver suggested, or a random joke or something. Any ideas are welcome. As for drawing artwork for you Josiah, i'd be more than happy to.

Actually, the grass kid saying beware the grass would be good.

So far I like all the idea, exspecially the grass kid one, although I think everyone likes that one.
