Josiah vs Kevin

Kevin seemed unfazed by Josiah's declaration, he knew that somebody this experience wouldn't taunt without reason so he chose him first...he shall be the first to go.

"You say that you never give up? That is an admirable trait...but not a wise one."

He gave Josiah a good look, the Universe whispering to him of his past...all he had gone through...all he did...

"Josiah Lebowitz...a man from another world. He plunged into the unknown to save his new home...and found love in an old enemy. And now...his life is over."

An immense amount of Universe energy quickly gathered on Josiah, being unbelievably destructive due to the power of the Seed of Pride.

Josiah couldn't help but scream as the attack hit. Of all the attacks he'd even been struck by, this was almost certainly the most powerful. The crystal shattered a moment later and Josiah fell to the ground. He hated taking a critical hit while merged. Although in the end it was his monster that took the brunt of the attack, sacrificing itself to save him, it always hurt a lot.

Jumping to his feet, Josiah drew the Zodiac Sword, sending a mass of slimy green water pouring over Kevin.
((Poisoned Water: a Zodiac Sword technique that douses the target with highly toxic water. Can poison, but does some damage regardless just from the high toxicity levels.))

"It's not over yet!"

The water simply vanished upon contact with an invisible shield around Kevin, free bonus of having the Universe empower you.

"You think you are more powerful than I? The Dark Guardian of Balance?...I don't appreciate that."

A burst of Universe energy emerged from Kevin, propelling itself at a great speed toward Josiah, the shape of the ball being similar to what almost killed Mythril Dragon, but being much stronger and faster.

Josiah teleported, disapearing completely from sight. Guess all those last minute precautions were worth it after all. He appeared in another part of the forest, bent down for a moment, then straightened up. Holding up Midnight Wing's card he took then held up another card as well, a Spell Card, and touched the two together for a moment.
((Ray of Hope: revives one KO'd monster and restores it to full health. Like all spell cards it can only be used once per battle and there's no other way to revive KO'd monsters during battle.))

Afterwards he climbed a nearby try and soon vanished amidst the branches and leaves.

((Josiah won't remain stationary. You can look for him but he probably won't show himself until something happens with Virgo, one way or another.))

Kevin smiled as he began to store power for a new burst again, then looked at Virgo while sending a telepathic message to Josiah.

<"You quietly watch your lover disappear...that is the difference between your strenght...and my strenght.">

He walked closer to the trapped Zodiac Legend before reciting her death sentence.

"Goddess Virgo...one who was at struggle with herself. One day, a man freed you of your evil...the one who would become your love. But now...your life is over."

The same energy concentration that overwhelmed the merged Josiah gathered around Virgo before lashing at her.

*Shortly before...*
As Josiah crept through the tree tops he spotted some of Kevin's puppets running along the ground. Still? He held up a card, apprently summoning a monster although no monster appeared. Well he can take care of them until I have time to deal with that circle.

*Shortly after...*
As Virgo's body fell to the ground a huge wave of water rushed across the area, drenching Kevin and covering the surrounding area with several feet of water which, oddly enough, didn't seem to drain away like you'd expect.
((Tsunami Force: Creates a large wave then covers the area with water for a while (effects a pretty large area). One of Aquaticia's attacks.))
There was a bright flash in the top of a nearby tree then a splash as Josiah dropped to the ground, the water going up to the center of his chest. But this wasn't normal Josiah, this was Electric Ultimate. He grinned as hundreds of lighting bolds began to strike in quick succession. A few hit trees but most struck the water...
((Electric Ulimate: Josiah's electric transformation, you probably remember it.))
((Electric Heaven: Causes large numbers of very rapid lightning strikes for several minutes. The strikes aren't aimed, they just all take place within the same general area, which is about the same size as the pond that Kevin is standing in. Considering the number of strikes, speed of the strikes, etc, Kevin is practically guarenteed to get hit by some bolts sooner or later. However, since he's currently standing in a fairly deep pool of water that's rapidly being struck by lighting bolts, he's going to be taking lots of damage even without direct hits.))

Right as the attack started, Vigo (who flying right above the surface of the water) thrust her spear at Kevin's back.

((Josiah used False Defeat on Virgo right before Kevin's attack hit, it's one of the things he got out of his pocket right after merging.
After False Defeat has been used, the next time the target is hit by powerful attack the damage taken is reduced and, if the monster survives, an illusion of them being defeated is created. Normally, the damage from Kevin's attack would have been far too much for False Defeat and Virgo would have been KO'd anyway. However, first off she had the defensive buff she cast on herself and Josiah earlier in the battle. Secondly, Josiah used one other spell card before Kevin's attack hit.
Restraint: One of the Seven Virtues cards. Activates instantly and quietly, affects all opponents currently on the field, halves the damage dealt by all the target's attacks for the remainder of the battle.
I know that Kevin was using his super attack powered by the gods and all that. However, restraint is one of the seven legendary spell cards (The Seven Virtues) which draw their power from ROM gods (or the equivalent since ROM usually has different names for stuff like that) so it would still work.
Between False Defeat, her defense buff, and Restraint, Virgo survived Kevin's attack. She took a considerable amount of damage but she survived.))

(A 3.5x Redemption against Virgo and False Defeat...this deserve consideration...and Kevin isn't powered by the gods, he's powered by the Universe itself. If he was really powered by Gadigan you'd all instantly die. Also the def buff doesn't apply since Redemption pierce all defence and resistances.)

((Universe, gods, whatever, Restraint still applies. If it wasn't one of The Seven Virtues (just a regular spell card that did the same thing) it wouldn't but the legendary cards have the full power of the ROM world, gods, and the like to back them up.))

((Ok, without the buff I'd say Virgo is in critial condition but not KO'd. False Defeat does provide very high protection since its goal is to allow the thing its used on to survive a powerful attack, even if they only have a few HP left afterwards (so its goal is more to prevent KO than the majority of the damage itself). That's my stance. Maybe we should ask Shauni's opinion, since she's been in ROM since the start and has lots of experience with BA.
If you really want to push this, I suppose I could agree to Virgo getting KO'd but only if I'm allowed to edit my earlier post and have Josiah save his Ray of Hope card instead of using it on Midnight Wing. False Defeat would still be in play so I wouldn't get to use it again, Josiah would just decide to wait and use Ray of Hope later once he knows for sure what's happening to Virgo.))

Kevin looked at Virgo's inert body as the wave started.
"This is getting annoying..."

He recited a short spell as the wave crashed over him, though not drenching him at all despite it's strenght, as if he has passed through it. At this moment he had a brief vision of Virgo attacking him, causing a huge ice spike to suddenly impale the Zodiac as she herself impaled Kevin straight through the chest, to her surprise not hurting him that much.

As Kevin attacked, Josiah shot forward with surprising speed and crashed into Virgo, causing her to lose her grip on the spear and knocking her out of the way just in time as ice spike hit him instead.

Get out of here! He mentally called to Virgo. Find a safe spot, heal yourself, then get rid of that summoning circle.

Virgo spear, which was still stuck in Kevin, suddenly disapeared and reappeared in her hands. With out a word she turned and flew off, vanishing into the forest.

"Nice try." Josiah touched the ice spike, causing it to shatter. "But electric is resistent to ice." As he was doing that, his other hand held up a spell card.
((Syphon Touch: Lasts till the end of the battle. The target continuously drains health from any opponent he's touching and uses that health to heal himself.))

Josiah suddenly shot forward locking Kevin in a death grip and knocking both of them into the electrically charged water, all as the lightning bolts continued to rain down. Then Josiah began to pour a tremendous amount of electricity into Kevin's body as the lignting began to tighten its focus, with many bolts striking Josiah.
((Combo Attack, Electric Heaven Electricuter: Electricuter is an attack that pours a continuous stream of electricity into the target. When combined with Electric Heaven, many of the lignting bolts strike the user, majorly increasing the power of Electricuter and allowing it to continue indefinately. This normally does moderate damage to the user as well. However, this damage is canceled out by the effects of Syphon Touch which has the added bonus of draining Kevin's HP in addition to the damage he's taking from Electric Heaven Electricuter and the Electric water. Finally, this combination has a very high chance of inflicting the target withparalyzation.))

Kevin turned out to be a much better fighter than anticipated, letting himself get grabbed so Josiah could leech him...leech his darkness, which isn't too healthy for others. He however refused to fall and casually opened a portal right behind him before flying in it at full speed, dragging Josiah with him. Virgo was intercepted by the little Puppet army as the other end of the portal appeared between them and her, they all started charging their blasts.

(Josiah is now Voidstruck, he still gain HP from Kevin though, though it's negated by Kevin's healing from Voidstruck people. Also, Josiah doesn't know that the portals are in fact conduits of void who are harmful to most things except Kevin.)

This is not my lucky day... Virgo looked at the puppets. Fortunately, army was an overstatement, there really weren't very many. Looks like Death Glider is doing its job. She immediately struck with Heavenly Spear, destroying many of the puppets before they had a chance to attack, then flew off before the others could follow her. High above the battlefield, she used Angel's Restoration to heal the massive damage she had taken from Kevin's attack.

Meanwhile...
Josiah did his best to hold Kevin in place but the combination of strenght and psychic force was just a little too much for his current form. With a sigh he teleported away just before Kevin entered the portal, although his big electric trap hadn't worked out quite as well as he'd hoped, at least it had done some damage.
Josiah appeared high above the field, next to Virgo, who had just finished healing. Responding to his unspoken request, she dispelled the Voidstruck status that Kevin had inflicted on him.

Thanks. I'd better head back down before he has time to do anything else.

No problem. I'll go get rid of the summoning circle now.

Speeding down, Josiah quickly spotted Kevin and fired several blasts of Static Surge at him before landing.
((Static Surge: You might remember it from our last battle. It's a fast moving ball of electricity that strikes the target then explodes.))

It turns out that the puppets blasts weren't meant for Virgo, but for Kevin, who absorbed the dark attacks easily, healing himself in the process.

Thank god you're mindless pets or I'd feel bad about this. He though before chopping one of the puppet in half, it's body dissipating while another twelve kiwis reinforced the three remaining ones. He did a slight alteration to the circle so that Virgo would get a nice surprise when she investigate...

Josiah took this time to start his attack which Kevin noticed with a yawn. The balls crashed all around him, stopped by an invisible shield before being turned into aerial blasts, becoming bare ripples in space.

Kevin launched his new free attack back at Josiah, having integrated homing in it to compensate for Josiah's speed. Right after sending them at him he said a single word: "Pain."

(In order, Summon Yahzrat’Forruldoom, which do what it says, Counter, which also do what it says(Note that the new blasts benefit from the 3.5x damage), and Lost Word of Pain, which cause damaging wracking pains on the target, done mainly to prevent you from dodging)

((Ok correct me if I'm wrong but, after rereading your post, this should work. You changed the circle to summon Yahzrat'Forruldoom but it hasn't actually been summoned yet so if the circle is dispelled soon enough...))

Virgo arrized at the summoning circle almost immediately after Kevin had left. It seemed to have changed since before but, ignoring that, she used her strongest dispell, causing the circle to vanish. Then, turning, she began to attack the remaining puppets with Heavenly Spear.

*Meanwhile...*
Josiah saw Kevin reflect his attack then a wracking pain filled his body although he hadn't taken any damage. A mind trick, clever... But if he thinks a little pain can stop me he's sorely mistaken. I've fought with real injuries that hurt worse than this. This is nothing! There was a flash of electricity around Josiah then he shot to the side in a blur of color, easily evading the reflected attack.
((E Charge - Greatly increases the user's speed and attack speed (activation time and movement speed) for several minutes.))

Skidding to a halt, Josiah snapped his fingers and a towering pillar of electricity appeared on the very spot Kevin was standing, sending electricity coursing through his body. Imediately after launching the first attack, a ball of electricity formed in Josiah hand, he hurled it straight at Kevin. The ball struck the outside of the pillar, causing both ball and pillar to explode in a brialliant blast of electrical energy.
((Electric Pillar: Instant activation, unblockable. A cylinder of electricity forms around the target, continuously electricuting them.))
((Lightningblast Grenade: a ball of electricity that must be thrown by the user. It explodes on contact. If the grenade comes into contact with another electric attack that attack explodes as well, significantly increasing the power of the blast.))

Kevin noticed that pain didn't do much to Josiah, he'll have to step it up later.

So much for elder horrors. And now he'll counterattack...not that it matter if he can't hit me.

He promptly did a clone of himself, blinking away from everyone while the formed shadows took all the the damage, the puppets gating back to the real Kevin before the pillar had time to explode.

Josiah starts to hear scat music that get progressively louder over the course of a few seconds before a cane with a duck head poke his shoulder, a sudden shriek of undecipherable words piercing the air.
