ROM 4: New Horizons
Moderators: Silver, shauni, Simeon
Mirage followed Virgo “I will go with you as well…she is my responsibility…and I let her down”
*****
In Shauni's neck of the woods.
"Who am I....?" The Harpy spoke again.
She surveyed her surroundings, a vast pine forest covered in snow
“Where am I…?”
She finally took the courage and moved, standing up on uncertain feet. She looked around frantically, and then looked down in defeat.
“I only know I’m alone…and I feel….hurt”
She looked at her body and felt no attachment to it at all. “Is my body hurt…because it’s like this…this feels wrong…”

*Virgo opened the door and stepped outside, Mirage and Metalmorph following her. Holding up one of Josiah's cards she summoned Midnight Wing.* "Midnight Wing can carry two of us while the other flies, we'll switch back and forth as we go." *she and Mirage climbed onto the large bird while Metalmorph changed into a more airworthy form. Soon all of them were high above the town. Mirage pointed out the direction and they headed off into the unknown.*
Opal looked at Silver as the rest of the group started to head out. They both nodded to each other.
"Hey Josiah." She spoke to him before he took off. "Silver and and were talking, and we want to head off in another direction." She explained.
Josiah frowned. "You guys don't want to come and help us?"
"We do, but we just feel like we should sit this one out." She shrugged.
"And maybe we'll actually get to do something!" Silver protested.
Opal hushed him. "We'll be in touch." She said as she grabbed Silver.
Josiah waved goodbye as the two took off on Tashi.

*Josiah watched as Silver and Opal disapeared into the night. He didn't like splitting the group up so much. He knew that both Virgo and Silver were strong enough to protect themselves and their companions and they were smart, they knew when to fight and when to back off but still... Splitting up was aways dangerous, especially against an enemy that they knew so little about. Josiah sighed, he already missed Virgo. He was tempted to contact her, to hear her thoughts about Silver and Opal's departure if nothing else, but pushed the desire aside. She had enough to worry about.*
"Are you sure you're ok with them leaving?" *David asked, sensing Josiah's mood.*
"I don't know... But I think it's something they have to do. They haven't been the same lately. They've been quieter, less involved... Maybe it's for the best. All of us have had to go off on our own at one time or another, I just hope they find what they're looking for."
"Are we heading out now too?" *Neo walked over.*
"Yeah, I think we should. It doesn't look like there's anything more for us to do here. We'll continue on the route we planned out before. It'll be easier for the others to find us again that way. Plus we can look into what Mahri sensed on the way."
*Being unable to fly any further because of the winds surrounding the mountains, the group, far smaller than it had been during the day, set off. Before long the lights of the town had vanished behind them, leaving only the inconsistant light of the cloudy night sky, as they followed the twisting path into the mountains.*

"All right! We're free to whatever plot stuff we want, without having to worry about interfering with anyone else's plans that they probably won't even admit they have! So, um... what do we do?"
"...Say more than we did back there and see where it takes us?"
"Sounds like like a plan! And the first ROM!"
"Yeah. Now can you stop breaking the fourth wall? It took so long to repair it after the first time you complained about not having anything to do..."

"Irregardless" and "Over exaggerated" are NEVER CORRECT EVER because they are redundant
Regardless means "without regard", and adding "ir" on the front actually makes it a double negative; exaggerate means "to overstate" so you're literally saying "over overstate."
Example: I can not exaggerate the importance of this fact enough, regardless of how often people ignore it.

Shauni sat on her branch, scratching her head
“Why do I get the feeling I should be worried about the bonds of reality?” she asked herself.
She shacks her head and stood up, stretching her wings out.
She looked around and sighed. With nothing to go on she headed of in a random direction, which just happened to be back towards the main group.

*The group pressed on through through the darkness, following Simeon and Mahri along a winding trail.*
"I think we should have waited until morning." *Jeff muttered as he edged his way across a particularily narrow part of the path.*
"But what about that voice Mahri heard?"
"We can't be sure she heard anything."
"True. But considering what Siemon told us about her I don't this we can discount it so easily." *Josiah broke in.* "If she's wrong we'll just lose a night of sleep. But I have a feeling this could be pretty important." *he began walking faster.* "Come on, we should catch up with Simeon and Neo."
((Hmm... Guess if Simeon doesn't show up soon I'll have to figure out some story thing for what Mahri heard...))

Neo and the rest of the group were walking along the winding path at night. Though it was dark, Neo remembered this path. It was a path that lead to a village that Neo had been stuck for 6 months at when he left D-Edge for the first time. This was also the area where he'd piced up Queen Ice Bird in it's first stage. It'd been his mistake to travel here when it was winter around the area and he got snowed in. But on the other hand it did give him time to pratice and work on his skills and other skills as well. It also made him aware of his weather abilities.
But he didn't like the fact that the girl had heard voices up in the mountains, didn't like it at all.

"Is there another village near here?" *David asked as the night wore on.*
"If we stay on this path we should reach on of the Dragoon villages around dawn." *Simeon replied.* "It may be one of their voices that Mahri heard. But it worries me. The Dragoons are brave and powerful warriors, if there is something in these mountains that even they can't handle..."
"A sin?"
"It wouldn't surprise me. We should stay on guard."
Hours later, as the sun began to creep over the mountains, a village came into view. Weary after their long trek, the group made their way towards it.

"Well, the initial thrill of being on our own again has officially worn off."
"Yeah. Guess it's time we start thinking about actually contributing to the plot."
"Aw, I stopped paying attention to the plot a long time ago."
"That explains a lot..."
"...Shut up. So, do you see anything down there? Anything remotely exciting?"
"How am I supposed to tell if something's exciting from all the way up here? But... I do see a town. That appears to be... well, I don't think it's burning, per se, but they're using fire for something."
"Well, there must be something plot-related we can do down there! Come on, let's go!"
"What?! Just because it's a town that likes to burn things doesn't mean it's a plot point!"
"We won't know unless we look... and I don't know about you, but I'd rather NOT be out all night looking for plot stuff."
"I told you not to doubt me!"
"No you didn't!"
"So are we landing or what?"
"Someone's trying WAAY to hard to be Luffy..."
"Yeah. Guess it's time we start thinking about actually contributing to the plot."

*Although anxious to find out more about whatever problems might be plaguing the village, the gamers were exhausted after their all night hike and Mahri had fallen asleep long ago, forcing Simeon to carry her for the past couple of hours.*
*Deciding that there was little they could do until they were well rested, the group checked into the local inn and promptly fell asleep. Little did they know that the very thing they had come searching for was watching their arrival and planning its next move...*

(I typed up a lovely long post, but my computer ate it - and I twas sad. So I'm going to repost as much as I can without colour 'cause I don't have that much time to code the colour)
"Getting kinda late." Commented Silver. "We should try to find that town I spotted back there."
"But that could take some time! Besides - it's very cold riding these monsters, and I'm too tired. Let's just rest in that clearing. Not like we slept in the forest before." Opal sighed.
"But....wild monsters, evil sins....yeah, sounds safe." Silver smirked as the two descent to the ground.
As Opal slid off of the scales of Tashi, Silver recalled his monster back into the depths of his card.
"Might as well start a fire." She sighed, gathering some sticks.
Silver nodded, picking up wood.
Soon the two were laying on a grassy bed, infront of the crackling fire.
"Man - I hope SOME sort of plot device happens when we fall asleep." Silver yelled aloud to the heavens.
Opal giggled as she rested her eyes.
********
The fire had died down and the two were fast asleep. Well, Silver was snoring like a wilderbeast and drooling like one too.
Opal winced as a snapping sound filled her ears.
"....Silver, please don't eat the dirt...." She yawned.
"...But I'm not, at least, I don't think I am..." Silver brushed his eyes. The faint light was enough to gleem onto two hairy legs.
"Opal, eather someone hasn't been shaving, or that's a monster...." Silver went to grab his cards.
Opal jumped backwards. The light was dim, but she could see an outline of something tall.
"Go - Ram!" She sent out her bighorn sheep. "Illuminate this place!"
Electricity lept from his horn, creating light to see the figure.
The figure was 7 feet tall, spikey, hairy, and had no mouth. it was sloth
(Drew a picture of him. Pretty sweet one.
Sloth is rather slow - but very powerful, and the longer he stands in one place, the more he can recharge.)

"Oh. Ok-wait what do you mean harmless?!" Unfortunately, the major boss had somehow vanished already. Don't know how he managed to go so fast, considering he's so slow.
"I think he's got it backwards..."
"...Did he say he lived in 'Lazy Town'?"
"That fact that a place like that exists fills me with great terror."
"Wasn't that the name of some show on-"
"Silver! Think of the fourth wall!"

*After several hours of rest Josiah's group was ready to look around the town. Leaving Mahri, who was still asleep, at the inn they went out and began talking to the townspeople.*
"You have picked a poor time to visit this place Guardian Father." *One of them addressed Siemon.* "We are on the verge of starvation. Much of our food stores and livestock vanished without a trace in a single night and we have been unable to find out how such a disaster could have happened. We sent caravans to the nearby towns and cities to request aid but none have returned no matter how many guards we sent with them. The last is already three days late, we fear the worst..."
"Could the person Mahri heard be from the caravan?" *David frowned.*
"Wouldn't surprise me." *Jeff replied quickly.* "This sounds a lot bigger than some random thefts."
"Which direction was the caravan coming from?" *Josiah asked the man.* "I think we should head out there and have a look around."
*The man pointed down a road leading north.* "Go if you will but I warn you, we too have sent scouts. Some have returned finding nothing. Others have vanished as completely as the caravan for which they searched. There is something evil in these mountains, be very careful."
"Yeah, sounds like something in our department alright." *Josiah stared off into the distance.* "Let's get Mahri before we go. If we're lucky she might be able to help point us in the right direction."
