*The monster carring the prince led the way, giving the rest of the group a chance to talk.*

"I can't believe it..." *Josiah's eyes were wide.* "Wayne took our strongest attacks without flinching and this Amhal guy destroys him in one hit."

"I bet it's part of the story." *Silver replied casually.*

"That would explain why he showed up at such a perfect time..." *Shauni muttered.*

"But didn't you first say that this game wasn't very linear? Is the virus rewriting the entire plot?" *He shook his head.* "Something about all this just doesn't feel right..."

"Take it easy guys." *Jeff alone looked completely calm.* "I've met Amhal before. Everything is fine."

"Ok then." *David watched as a massive palace drew ever closer.* "Looks like we'd better get ready to land."

Electricutz - 3/3 - Electric --> Flash Tackle, Multi Striker, Voltage, Electric Speed, Electric Heaven

"Sure is. I wouldn't worry." *the monsters land and everyone gets off*

"It's getting late." *Amhal led the group inside the massive palace.* "My servants will lead to your rooms and bring food. We can talk in the morning if that's ok with you." *The group nodded and followed a silent maid through the towering halls.*

"Wow! These rooms are awesome!" *Silver jumped happily onto a bed that could easily fit four. Each member of the group had been provided with a similiar suite of rooms that were far too large for a single person.*

*Jeff, Shauni, David, and Silver said their goodnights and went off to their rooms to sleep. Josiah on the other hand, decided to take a walk around the palace first.* "Excuse me." *A servant found him wondering the halls.* "Is there something I can help you with?"

"Is there somewhere I can heal my monsters?" *The man nodded and gave Josiah directions to the palace gardens where there was a shrine. Josiah followed the instructions out into the cool night. Beautiful plants surround him, forming a path that led straight to a familiar structure. Heading inside Josiah healed his monsters, noticing for the first time that Shadow Wing had grown to its final form, Night Wing. Its appearance was about the same but it was larger now. It looked big enough to easily carry two people on its back. It had gained a second type as well, Wind.*

*Josiah sat down for a moment and studied his cards, remembering all the adventures he'd had so far. Suddenly a strange dizziness overcame him and he fell painfully to the floor, head spinning, as a vision filled his head.*

"I'm dying." *An old man spoke slowly from his bed as Josiah watched, filled with sadness.* "You are the last of our tribe... Our bond with our monsters lets us do something no others can. Always remember who you are and always use your power for good. Remember, you are the last..."

"Wait don't go! You can't die!!!"

*Josiah awoke with a start and made his way back to his room. What had the dream been about? He certainly didn't recognize the old man. Could he be bonding with one of the game's characters as Jeff and Shauni had? What power was the old man talking about? Exhausted, Josiah fell asleep before the answers came.*

*It was the middle of the night and Jeff could not sleep.He made his way to the main hall.*
"Excuse me but why are you up?"
"I need to talk to the prince."
"Of course. Let me guide you to his chamber."
*They make their way to the prince's chamber.*
"Excuse me, sir but Jeff requests to speak with you.
"Please send him in. Ah what can I help you with, Jeff?
"Don't play dumb with me Amahl. You know why I'm here."
"You want to know about the chosen and the guardians. Very well. It all began 5 years ago..."

FLASHBACK
"Mother what's wrong?"
"There is a disturbance. I can feel it. Bad things are coming this way.
"What do you mean, mother?"
*7 mages came and destroyed the gates protecting the castle.*
"Come on out!!! We know your here Queen Annabella!"
"You must hide my son. No matter what happens don't leave your hiding space. Do you understand?"
"Of course mother."
*From my hiding place I could here the pain of my mother.*
"you'll... never... win...
"HA HA HA!!! There's nobody left to stop us!"
*I saw a flash of smoke and the men were gone. I rushed to my mother's side but it was too late; she was gone.*

*I spent the next three years studying and training.*
*3 years later.*

"Congratulations, Prince Amhal. You have successfully passed your master's exam in monster training."
"Thank you. I promise to use my ability for protecting others and not for evil. I will find those men. I will destroy them."
END FLASHBACK

"That's the story of how I found out about the chosen."
*Jeff sat there with an aghast look on his face.*
"What's wrong?"
"Nothing. Thank you for your time. I must be going to bed now."
"Of course. I'll see you in the morning."
*Instead of going to his room Jeff rushes to see Shauni.*
"psst... shauni... psst..."
*Shauni wakes up with a half-asleep look on her face.*
"What?"
"I need to talk to you now."
"YAWN! Okay okay. What is it?"
*Jeff explains what Prince Amhal said.*
"So it was Amhal this whole time we've been dreaming about. I wonder what that means? Well thanks for telling me; but if you don't mind I want to go back to sleep."
"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have woken you."
"It's okay... I... forgive... zzzz..."
*She's fallen asleep.*
"Goodnight Shauni."
*Jeff kisses her on the forehead.*

Silver was apparently the only one who could sleep that night, but he woke up a little earlier than everyone else. He wandered the palace while he waited for everyone else, but got lost... and found himself in a dusty room that apparently no one had entered for a long time. It was filled with small items and could probably be passed off as an antique shop, but something caught his eye... A sword in the corner. It didn't have any dust on causing it to stand out from the rest of the room. Silver walked over to it but the floor under him gave out and he fell to the room below him, as did the sword. It landed right next to him and stood up in the floor, almost making it seem like it was thrown at him. When he could look past the sword that, if about four inches to the right would have killed him, he saw something he never expected to see in the palace. The walls were covered with cards containg first stage monsters, including Tashi, Kojou and Ommie. "What, does this guy collect them or something?" He mumbled, then turning his attention back to the sword. It had landed on a card that was now floating above it. Silver grabbed the card and looked it over to see it contained a Dragder, an electric typed Dragon-like monster. It looked sort of like Spyro, but the horns on its head were bolts of electricity like the spikes down its back. Its scales were Yellow and seemed to be made of metal, and its tail was more like a lion's tail. Silver put it on the wall, but it floated back up and hovered over the sword. Silver grabbed it again and put it with his other cards. "That was strange..." He mumbled, still lost. There was no door in the room he was in...

*The next morning ((2 hours after Silver woke up.)) everyone gathers in the main hall.*
"Where's silver?"
"He wasn't in his room. Mayble he'll get here soon."
*10 minutes later.*
"He's not showing up. I'm getting worried."
"He probably just got lost."
"Yeah knowing him."
"Hey! Silver's fallen into the Pit of Despair!."
"The what?"
"I'll explain on the way."
*They head towards the dusty room.*
"The pit of despair was a punishment used for thieves. The pit itself creates an illusion of no exit. If I hadn't heard him, he could've been lost in there forever."
"no...exit...no...exit..."
*A door opens near silver.*
"Are you all done?"
"What the hell was that?"
"It was the pit of despair. It's used for punishing thieves. You didn't steal anything did you?"
"I tried to pick up a sword. The next thing I knew, I'd fallen through the floor. Then this weird voodoo card flew around. Here it's this one."
"I appreciate your honesty. Keep the card. Now back to business. I have some important news to share with each of you. In addition to being a prince I am also a seer. I'll need to talk to Jeff, Shauni, and Josiah. You must not tell ANYONE what I tell you. I'll take you first, Jeff."

"What else could you possibly want to say?"
"This is hard to say... I guess I'll just say it. You are going to die."
"What???"
"You will die protecting one of your friends. If you continue on this journey then it is inevitible. I'm sorry."
"I see. Well if it's to protect one of my friends, I'll be more than glad to do it."
"That's good to hear. Please send in Shauni."

"Please tell me what you see."
"It's not pretty. If you truly wish to destroy the guardians, then one of your friends will die."
"No..."
"It is up to you. Which is stronger your friendship or your venegance?"
"..."
"That is all I have to say. Please send in Josiah."

"Amhal, what is in my future."
"It's not so much what is in the future, as it is what is in the present."
"I'm afraid I don't understand."
"I'll put it bluntly. You are the hero; not Jeff."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes. What happened on the mountain was not Jeff being the hero. It was Jeff imagining Shauni as Anna. His heart still aches; but you are the game's hero."
"Thank you."

"Well now that that is all done, let's have some lunch. I've prepared a bountiful feast."
*Jeff, Shauni, and Josiah all have a depressed look on their face.*
"What's wrong guys?"
"I was just thinking about what Amhal said."
"Me too."
"Me three."
"I should probably say that what I told you is not 100% true. It is the un-altered future. Depending on your actions in the future, these things may not come to pass."
"That's a relief."
*Josiah still had a serious look on his face.*
"Josiah?"
"He didn't predict my future. He told me the present. My fate can't change."
"Whatever it is we'll be there for you, Josiah."
"Thanks, Jeff."
"I'd do anything for you guys, even..."
"Even what?"
"Nevermind. Let's eat!"

"This game's getting wierder and wierder, like I said. You guys have been acting wierd since you talked to Amhal. Now I really feel like a secondary character..."

"You probably don't want to know what he said to me, then."

"I guess I can safely assume your not gonna die or anything, that's good enough for me..."

"Or he could just not be hungry, ya know."

*The meal was nearly over. Josiah, Jeff, and Shauni had remained silent for most of it but had eventually started talking about more trivial matters such as attack moves and the like.*

"So," *Josiah turned to the prince,* "I assume I speak for everyone when I say that we're going to go after the remaining chosen." *The others nodded although Shauni and Jeff seemed less enthusiastic than Silver and David.* "Do you have any idea where we could find them? I mean, they seem to do a pretty good job of finding us but it would be nice to get the jump on one for a change."

"I'm afraid I don't know much." *Amhal replied.* "Although I have heard rumors that the earth chosen is in the Labyrinth Caves."

"The Labyrinth Caves?"

"Yes. It's a massive network od caverns so large that many become lost inside. There's also rumors of powerful spirits and even treasures. They say the earth chosen is at the very bottom."

"How can we get there?"

"You'll need to go to the town of Clirg. I'll have one of my servants find a map before you leave. Also," *he stood,* "if you'll follow me I have some things that may help you on your journey."

"Two things. Level 10 orbs and weapons."
"Weapons?"
"Yes. You can't always rely on your monsters. You'll have your veritable pick of weapons to choose from."
"Hmm... I've always been partial to the claymore so I guess I'll take that."
"Excellent choice. Here you go. Everyone else?"

"Uh... I've never really used a weapon... any suggestions?"

"That depends what you have skill with. You should be able to tell which one is right for you just by seeing it."

"Lets see..." *Picks up a bow and arrow and aims at the wall, and hits the exact spot he was aiming for* "I guess this is the one for me!"

"It would be a good idea to have one, just in case."

"And now I need to pick one..."

"The nun-chuks or however you pronounce it are still available and..." *Starts to sing* "Everybody loves kung-fu fighting!"
