"None of the guys from Dewford are here right now so I got stuck answering this one instead. Anyway, because it's such a tiny island, land prices on Dewford are extremely high. So high that the people who run the Pok?mart chain decided that it wouldn't be worth it to open one there. Dewford is just lucky that the Pok?mon League paid for the land for the Pok?mon Center. The lack of a Pok?mart is an inconvenience but people can always travel to Rustboro or they can place their orders over the phone or internet and have them shipped over on the next boat."
"At this point, none of their pok?mon are anywhere near strong enough for a battle like that. Perhaps after they defeat the Elite Four..."
Okay then, how about now? (Ignore the fact that many of them have evolved without reaching the correct level)
"Hard to say. It would depend at least somewhat on the pok?mon's move list and, most of your team is still a tad higher, level wise, than Brendan and May's (not to mention that fully evolved pok?mon have better stats). Then when you add item usage to the mix... It's really not something I can just give you a number for."
Alright, I got emerald (very late birthday present from distant relatives) a few days ago, here's my team from that

How come badges make you able to suddenly use the HM out of battle? I mean I find it odd that a little shiny piece of metal makes pokemon of a certain level obey you and for you to suddenly use a move out of battle
I was browsing Amazon the other day and I saw a robot uprising survival guide. Upon checking this guide I saw an audio CD version I smirked and laughed at the irony.

"Brendan really doesn't know many types of pok?mon yet so he doesn't have an opinion on this. As for me, I'd really like to get a charizard. Unfortunately, they're not native to Hoenn."

Well, Prof. Birch, can you answer this; how come all wild Silcoon/Cascoon only know harden? Shouldn't they know at least one physical attack so they can level up properly? -takes out note pad-

"There are times when pok?mon, particularily those found in the wild, evolve either sooner or later than they're supposed to based on a variety of factors including their environment and current circumstances (such as when they're in danger). For similiar reasons, there are also times when they forget or simply don't learn moves that they normally would. The official lists of moves and evolution levels only applies to pok?mon that have spent at least some time with a trainer as that offers a much more controlled environment."
