It's supposed to be kinda difficult. That's the point of low light ya know? Don't worry, it'll get lighter when they beat the next trainer. Although, after some experimenting, I did notice that they're a lot harder to see on some monitors than others. For instance, the characters are easy to see on my laptop yet pretty hard to spot on the computers at my school. Tweaking the brightness and/or contrast settings on your monitor would probably help.

As for the whole circle of light thing, it works fine in the games but, after some thought, I decided that it would look rather stupid in the comic.

After testing the strip on some other monitors I decided to lighten it a bit. The ligther version will be up along with tomorrow's update.

And also, on today's strip, it seems a little out of character for the two of them to go help Xain and Cali until before they get their badges

Huh? Not quite sure what you mean there. Brendan just said that they'd help Xain and Cali find the way out of the gym but not until after he and May had gotten their badges.

His exact words are 'We'll help them on our way out.'

Yeah, I know now.

PS A little off topic, but in today's rant, you talk about things I've attempted. I've got a game I'm working on (been working on it for 5 months and getting nowhere) and a novel I've been writing since I was 14 (currently 17)

So trust me, I know what it's like

Read today's strip again, Josiah-sama... *twitch* I must point out the spelling error that's sitting there.

It's Psychic, not "Physic" ... Unless it was intentional. Then it'll be taken as "physical" and psychic all at once...
*waves hand in a jedi-like manner* Move along. Nothing to see here...

... And that's why it's probably not a good idea to update when I'm sick and working on finals...

SWEEEET!!! IT'S THE GRASS KID! XD I CAN'T BELIEVE HE'S BACK! And by popular demand, no less!
"Irregardless" and "Over exaggerated" are NEVER CORRECT EVER because they are redundant
Regardless means "without regard", and adding "ir" on the front actually makes it a double negative; exaggerate means "to overstate" so you're literally saying "over overstate."
Example: I can not exaggerate the importance of this fact enough, regardless of how often people ignore it.
