ROM 4: New Horizons

Soon the army was gone as the main person was defeated. But Neo was still darknened. He didn't just want to defeat the army but destroy everything. He had fully darkned in the battle.

Neo could see Silver. "Now Silver you will pay for defeating me." Neo charged after Silver with his weapons draws. Metalmorph realizing what was going on unmerged with Neo's daggers. Silver had his back to Neo. Neo shouted at Silver "Now be defeated!" Silver turned just when Neo was about to leap when Metalmorph from out of nowhere leaped infrount of Neo and swiftly punched him in the gut knocking him out.

"Sorry about that. I guess I may need to explain some."

Shauni watched Neo charge at Silver, her eyes flickered black.

Metalmorph knocked Neo away before he could hit silver.

he began to talk but shauni rushed towards Neo and thrust the Holdy Daggers towards him. He countered with his own blade and the two began to engage in combat, both fuiled by a darkness within them.

Shauni thrust left, then right. neo countered every move.

She attemped to trip him but he lept backwards.
She threw one holy daggers towards him, then another. After Neo had batted them away she drew the cursed daggers, and in his distraction...sliced him. She shreaded his cloths and lighty grazed his skin as he pulled his body away from the slash.

He thrust the butt of his own dagger into Shauni's skull, knocking her away.

Shauni fliped backwards, placed the cursed daggers in there holsters and reclamied the Holy Daggers
"What kind of coward are you? Attack from behind. I'll show you what a real dark aura is all about!"
She flew up into the air and powered up and attack
"Black Petals"
Stray coding around the area was transformed into black petles that where razor sharp. Shauni thrust them as she contuied to summon them towards Neo....

"Guardian Father!"

The guardian concentrated. The Master he served had just given him permission to intercede...

"STOP THIS INSTANT!!"

In a blinding flash of white, the ghostly form of a robed being appeared like lightining between Neo and Shauni, stopping the duel.

Shauni's eyes flickered white as she stopped in mid-stride, "Guardian Father..."

Neo blinked, stepped back, and gripped his head as if though he were recovering from a headache.

"Children of the Balance... Focus. Help each other stay in the light..." And the guardian faded out...

The guardian collapsed after the episode. "I'm not doing that again."

Mahri was just at her guardian's side looking over worriedly at him and his sacred sword. "Guardian father... You'll never know if your Master will call you to do that again..."

The guardian just sighed, and lay there unmoving.

Neo stopped griping his head. "Ow what just happened? One moment I'm battleing the lizard army and next moment they are gone and I'm here with a massive headace."

"Ok, now let me explain abit now that Shauni is done. Ever since the battle with Bowen I've noticed abit of a diffrence in Neo. As those of you who can see arua, Neo's naturally has a darkened tint to it. I don't know why yet and either does Neo. Though he just now is realizing that it's this way after 1.5 years. Though I do know this, it seems to darken when his own anger goes up. Now again for reasons unknown he does become a better fighter to a point. If it darknes too much he become reckless. If he darkness fully he seems to get the urge to destroy anything he can see. I guess the memory of loosing to Silver caused him to attack Silver. So far the only was to get him out of this state is to knock him out, usually a well placed punch to the gut works well cept this time. The rage must of been stronger this time. Though thankfully I've only had to do this 2 other times. One after Neo and Silvers fight and once when we were on our own. I just saved a village in time though we had to do some rewriting of coding to restore the area back.

My question is who stopped the fight between Shauni and Neo."

"I have my suspicions." *Josiah and Virgo arrived on the seen. Although they had seen the battle between Shauni and Neo, a few surviving lizards had chosen that moment to attack, keeping them from interveening.* "But I wouldn't be surprised if Shauni knows more about it than I do. But we can't be attacking each other." *He gestured to Shauni and Neo.* "I don't know what to do about the daggers or what's wrong with Neo but, if it's ok with you two, I'd like to have Virgo see what she can do."

"I don't know if I can remove the darkness, but I very least I may be able to supress it a little."

((Hmm... Since Jeff's been working with Amhal he probably knows something about the army we just fought. Just something to keep in mind.))

Shauni sighed as she placed the Holy Daggers back on the holsters on her back
"Its a nice gesture Virgo...but these daggers can't be purified...and I'm not sure if they can be stopped. Don't forget...I know a little white magic of my own...and it still fractured my soul."
Shauni closed her eyes
"I have heard rumours of a place called 'Merry Creak' that holds an item that can purify any darkness...I've been looking for it for 3 months. I considered for a while it may be a pocket domain like bowens....so I have been using Hellfire to unlock stray data realms that have formed....I just think I've made things worse"
Elder Codo stepped forward "Merry Creak is beyond the valley of Fail, which is east of Onett. The creak is actually a barrier to a vast ocean...on the other side lies a continent named Cap-cannon. Many evil's are sealed there. The item you have heard rumour of is the Ivy Staff that is blessed with the power to purify evil."
Shauni frowned "And how do you know all this? Why was I never told?"
"Only myself and Yomiko's blood line know of Merry Creak and its true nature...it is our family's curse"Shauni turned around
"And anyway, who is the ghostly figure you keep talking to...this 'Guardian father'?" Elder Codo interjected "You keep secrets to it seems"
"The guardian father is everything I am...he can be salvation or destruction."
Shauni began to walk away, towards the harbour
"That is no answer shaun!i! Hold your place and speck the true"
She stopped "Don't ask me any more."

"I have no real objections but I'm not sure if it would do much for helping. As Metalmorph has said, I only realized that this is happening now. I don't have much memory of the times I do go this way. I can fell myself getting angrey and then I guess something takes over and I must not fully be incontroll of myself and don't remember a thing. Heck, I don't even remember much of the final battle aginst Silver."

Tsuekasa had wonder over after she saw Neo try to attack Silver and his fight with Shauni. "Oh Neo. What has gotten into you. What has happned when you've been away from me?" She ran and huged Neo tightly."

"Can't...breath..."

"Sorry but I hate to loose you to this darkness in you."

Silver kind of just stood there with a blank look on his face (as per usual) as shauni, Neo, Codo and whatever that ghosty thing was talked. His monsters walked/flew over now that the army was pretty much gone, and Silver put all of them but Arco Iris and Tashi back in their cards, just in case there were any lizards left that needed decimation.

"So... um... what just happened?" Silver finally asked.

"Shauni's got these cursed dagger things and Neo tried to kill you."

"...Oh... is that all?" Silver nervously inched away from Neo.

"We're not acomplishing anything like this." *Josiah looked around.* "Jeff, is this the type of army that Amhal has been fighting?"

"The monsters were different but I'm pretty sure they came from the same place. You really should talk to Amhal, he knows more than I do."

"We all need to talk." *Josiah looked over the group, realizing just how much some of them had changed since first arriving in Orca.* "Everyone, back to my house and wait for me there. I just need to set up some sentries first so we'll know if anything else goes wrong. It shouldn't take that long. In the meantime, Virgo, see what you can do for Neo. Jeff, go find Amhal. I want him at this meeting as well. We need to find out everything we can about these enemies and decide what we're going to do about it. After all we've done I'm not about to let Orca fall into chaos again." *Everyone nodded, except one.* "Shauni, are you with us?"

"For now..." *Her reply was noncommital.*

*Josiah sighed.* "I'll see you soon." *He resummoned Myhtril Dragon and flew off.*

*The others began summoning their monsters, giving rides to those without. Soon, the plane was empty.*

((Neo, you determine Virgo's success, or lack there of, in regards to your dark aura. I'll turn back up shortly after everyone reaches my house and Virgo tries helping Neo. Jeff and Amhal can show up right after I return.))

Soon Neo and Tusekasa and Metamorph arrived at Josiah's house.

"Tsuekasa, would you go inside please. I'm not sure what will happen when Virgo attempts this."

"No, I'll stand off abit. If anything, Metalmorph could take care of it. And Virgo might too."

"Ok."

Virgo arrived soon. "Ready to do this Neo?"

"Ready as I'll ever be."

Virgo begain to concentrate and release energy towards Neo in hopes of suppressing the darkness. Neo was aborbed into the light. Things seemed to work out til...

Neo begain to shake as a strange yet slightly fimilar voice emurged. "You will not surpress this darkness. You will not surpress me! Fools for trying. You will all pay!" Then a surge of dark energy came out of Neo and struck Virgo breaking the supressing ability. Virge stagered back abit but was unaffected by the surge.

"Ok, that was unexpected."

((I'll let you have Virgo respond if you like Josiah. Or even your char if he was watching. Also if I discribed the ability wrong, feel free to change it to how it's supposed to go :) ))

Shauni, her eyes white, watched virgo and Noe from Josiah's roof top. She was a little stunned when Neo's voice changed and Virgo pushed back but she didn't have time to react as things settled down.

She was a little reluctant to join the others in this 'meeting' so she stayed put until everyone had arrived. She could do without questions at the moment

The Guardian's ghostly form appeared next to Shauni.

"I will watch, Daughter of HellFire, but I will not speak. There are some matters I cannot lay a hand on until the chosen time..."

Shauni just lowered her head.

Sensing a bit of dissapointment, the Guardian spoke again, "If anything, Daughter of Hellfire, I will be nearby to assure you... The others may not see me, but you will be aware that I will be in the same room you are."

"I understand. Thank you Guardian."

((Okay, it's up to Shauni-sama to join the meeting. Looks like a given...))

"That darkness..." *Virgo frowned.* "It's no ordinary dark aura. It's alive somehow and strong enough to resist my spells. I can't supress it alone. Perhaps if Varna was here we could overcome it together or at least draw it out of you and destroy it then but for now there is little that can be done."

"Well, thanks for trying anyway." *Neo was looking a bit confused.* "It hasn't been much of a problem so far but that was pretty weird."

*Just then David arrived, breaking up any further conversation, with Silver and Opal close behind. An incomfortable silence prevailed. Everyone with too many questions and not enough answers. Josiah arrived about twenty minutes later and Virgo quickly filled him. He led everyone into the comfortable living room and they sat down to wait for Jeff and Amhal to arrive.

Ibun bounded ahead a bit before turning to check on Jeff, who was trailing behind with a slower pace. Ahmal was walking next to his most trusted general, sharing the concerned look on Jeff's face.

Inwardly, Jeff was feeling awkward... He was glad to see his friends again, but he wasn't expecting--

He then caught a glimpse of a ghostly figure speaking with Shauni as he approached Josiah's home. The apparition vanished in an eyeblink, as if it were never there... Then Shauni leaped down from the roof and went inside Josiah's home.

Jeff wasn't able to get a good look at the ghostly form, but he could have sworn feeling that same presence one or twice before.

"Jeff, Ahmal." Josiah spoke as he stood outside the door, "We've been waiting."

"Sorry about the delay--" Ahmal started.

"That's okay, Prince Ahmal. We're all here." Josiah glanced at the group that had gathered, "Now... let's get started..."

"First off, I'd like to say that I now know all about your recent military operations. You've been fighting these monster armies for about eight months, on and off. Each attack has been in a different part of Orca by a different type of monster. The last attack, before tonight, was against your palace itself and the enemy had something that could kill trainer monsters. How's that for a summary?"

*Everyone was staring at Josiah.* "How do you know all that?" *Amhal and Jeff were visibly shocked.*

"Let's just say I have my sources." *Josiah continued, not mentioning that he had done more than set up sentries before returning to the house.* "But that fact that I didn't know about it before today is disturbing. Why the secrecy?"

"That was my idea." *Jeff interrupted.* "After all that had happened we didn't want to panic the people now that things were finally getting peaceful."

"Well, that makes sense I guess." *David spoke up.* "But why didn't you tell us? We could have helped fight."

"That was the original plan. But for a while no one knew where any of you were. And, by the time some of you began to reappear," *he nodded towards Josiah and Virgo,* "we had already beaten back the first few attacks and were feeling pretty confident. Besides, after all you've done for us I didn't want to pull you back in unless it was absolutely neccessary."

"That's nice and all but none of this really matters right now."

"True." *Josiah conceded the point.* "But it never hurts to know. Still, that brings us to a more important question, and something I haven't been able to find out. What do you know about these attackers? Leaders? Origins? Home base? The more we know the better."

((I'll reveal how I'm getting my information later on in the RP so please don't try to explain that.))
