ROM: Realm of Monsters

Vallhalo is a city atop a cliff. Below is the vast ocean. No land could be seen to the end of the horizon.
The city was big, but primative. Houses were made with wood and stone. Roofs were of straw and sticks. The weather was normally humid, but the people of the city were used to it.
Too small suns were in the sky, explaining why it was always so hot. The ground consisted of a mix of sand and dirt. Some grass grew around the houses. Vallhalo was known for its fishers. They have help from their monsters.
David has lived there his whole life. (I drew a picture of him that I'll scan later.) But he never felt he belonged. David is a shy, timid young man. When he was younger, he was trained to catch monsters like everyone else. He has but one in his deck. And he doesn't like to fight, never has. Yesterday he graduated his monster class. Today, he is officially a man, and he is meant to leave his home to find another. But David's not sure if he wants to leave. Vallhalo is his home, he knows nothing else.

The two me blocking their way released a Zippo ((seen earlier in the rp, electric-typed horse)) and a Shade Wing.

"A Dark Type... J, Mogal's gonna have to take care of that thing before it does damage to Tushi!"

"Got it! Mogal, use Leaf Rain!"

"Shadow Bind."

"Charge Tackle!"

"Counter with Flaming Tail!"

The Dhade Wing Paralyzed Tushi, but before any damage could be done it was knocked to the ground by leaves falling from the sky. Zippo covered itself in electricity the charged at Tushi, doing little damage and knocking the paralysis off so Tushi could slam a flaming tail at Zippo. At this point, all monsters but Mogal had taken some damage. ((You wanna continue?))

*The two finally make it to the city. The suns have just set and it is beginning to cool down; but it is still warm outside. Unable to find the shrine the two look for a place to crash for the night.*
"I'm tired of looking for the shrine. Why don't we ask one of the locals where it is?"
*Anna knocks on the nearest house's door.*
"Hello. What can I do for you?"
"I'm sorry to bother you; but can you direct us to the shrine. We need to get some rest."
"It's all the way across town. It's too far for you to walk. Why don't you stay here for the night? By the way, my name is David."
"Really, thanks David!"
"So what are you two doing here?"
"We're taking a ship to Adamingo."
"Really? Could I ask a favor of you?"
"What do you have in mind."
Could you take me with you? I know it's sudden but I have just graduated and as is custom I must leave this city. I would feel much better in a group."
"Yeah. I guess since you're letting us stay here we'll let you join us."
"Thank you."
*Night falls and the two go to sleep. The next morning David shows them around the city.*

"Leaf Rain again!"

"Hit Zippo with Poison bite!"

"Claw Rake."

"Electric Boom!"

More Leaves fell from the sky and slashed through Shade Wing, who used Claw Rake on Tushi. Tushi bit Zippo and it was injected with Poison that would stedily drain its health. Zippo, however, released a large amount of powerful electricity that hit Tushi and Mogal.

David wakes the two travelers up at dawn. At first they are persistant, but eventually they give in. "Come on. I have made breakfast for everyone."
"What's on the menu?" asks Jeffrey.
"Yeah, I'm hungry too," says Anna.
"Well, since this is a fish export, we have fish salad and some shrimp."
"You're quite a cook!"
"Heh heh, thank you."
After they ate breakfast, David showed them around the city.
There are the stairs to the beach. The fishers mainly go there. Some shops are down there too. Much bigger markets are over by the shrine. We'll be heading there next. The mayor of the city lives in the shrine. Everyone loves him, but I don't trust him. Well, here we are."
They arrived at the shrine. It was a three-story tower with a dome on the top.

Silver, not finished with the battle, knew someone was watching... "You AGAIN, Gold? I'm a little busy right now, ok?"

"Sorry, it's just..."

"Tell me what you want and leave, got it?"

"...Well, I heard about you, and... No, I'll wait for you to finish your battle..."

"Good idea. Tushi, use Heat!"

"Tushi, Dodge and finish it with Heat!"

Gold stared at one of the thugs, then at Tushi. Tushi didn't use the attack and Shadow Bind hit a nearby tree, causing it to fall over and crush Zippo

"Now Mogal! Finish them with Upheaval!" *Mogal hurled a large chunk of earth at the two fallen monsters, knocking them out and ending the battle. The two men ran off, shouting curses, as Josiah and Silver turned to Gold.*

"So, what do you want now?"

Current Monsters:
Zapz - 2/3 - Electric --> Attacks: Flash Zapper, Flash Tackle, Multi Striker
Shade Wing - 2/3 - Dark --> Attacks: Shadow Bind, Claw Rake, Night Ray, Shadow Shroud
Mogal - 2/3 - Ground --> Attacks: Root Strike, Leaf Rain, Upheaval

Shauni had been wondering about the wood alone for about 2 days, after that she sat own and began to weep
"What am I......." when suddenly she felt a weird pain in her chest
"you....are lost......" a voice spoke from the forst
shauni sat up in panic "I am lost....but you wont make me a spit as you did felix"
A sigh came from the voice that spoke to her "I am not that force that did that...shauni, you seak an answer do you not?"
shauni looked around her, looking for the sourse of the voice but didnt find it
The voice spoke again "You are not of this word shauni, I can tell you that, and you are not of there world."
shauni looked down, her fears confermed
"so I am a freak....."
The voice spoke again
"I never said that"
shauni looked up agian "Then what am i!" she yelled at nothing "what am I!"
"You are the doom of this world, and possibly theres as well"
Shauni looked up in horror "What?"
The voice went on "Four years ago a hacker by the online name of shauni, her real name unknown, created a virus called hellfire. The virus infected all magur systems until it reached a games company called Lowehouse who was working on a new virtaul reality game called ROM (Realm of monsters). The virus entered the network and became mutated in the program. The developers had created a system that allowed gamers to creat an electronic double to control in this game, and a system that created random personalitys to NPCs, you my dear are a result of a mutated NPC program merged with the pure form of the virus. A hacker always leaves a part of themselfs in the virus, in your case, it was more so than usual"
Shauni was silent, taking in this information "That is way the men in black are after you"
"You mean mortac?"
"YEs, he is an attempt by the developers to rid the system of the virus, you..."
Shauni looked at her hands, like she dint know herself anymore "So...wait.Why do they attack the humans?"
"You used the mutated power of the system to creat electronic copies of them, like was ment to happen, but the system sees them as virus also, that Jeff, for instence, he has the power to manipulate the code, as you have. The black coated men will go after them"
"What will they do if they get them?"
the voice was silent for a moment then it followed
"As they did to Felix, they will attempt to distry them, or permantly make them a part of the program. There is no way to make felix what he was, his coding has been changed, I also sence this Jeff is different from the others, he is, diferent. Perhaps his program code was not loaded as it should, perhaps you inferted him with the virus"
Shauni looked around again "What was the purpose of th virus?"
The voice answered "To destry everthing...."
shauni closed her eys "No, thats will not be my fate, I will retun to the others, I must tell them they will never go home......"
The vocie spoke once more "Do you not wonder who I am?"
shauni looked around again "I have an idea. You are a spirt, also mutaed"
The form appred before shauni. I was a golden phoenix no bigger an herself
"Yes, we two share a fate, with the others you have created. I will help you to distry the vacseen, as it to threntains me"
Shauni pulled a card from the deck and the mutated spirt entered it.
The card read "Mutation Hellfire"
Shauni smiled at it "So, you and I were supposed to be of this game....but a virus mutaed our coding, and made us aware that this world is not real. I tryed so long to get out, even summoning help. But all I did was put people in danger, no, thats not correct. The others arnt people, they are electronic copies of themselfs. I wonder if the real gamers ae even aware of any of this....."
Shauni placed Hellfire in her deck. "I must go to the others, its all my fault that the Organisation Vacseen is after them, I will protect them with my life..."
She looked around "They will be at Vallhalo now. I must join them there"
Shauni ran as fast as her legs could carry her. It was no longer about getting out of the game, it was about her life that the virus had given her, and protecting the life of her friends. For the first time, a virus had chose its destony, it had chosen to protect insted of distry, but what else had the virus changed. Perhaps the Moen spits where inferect to......

That would be great J, I would love to have my comic on pebble version. Give me a week or so to get stuff ready, I have been experimenting with Photoshop, but i think I went a bit mad, i'll send you my mock up comic, so you can tell me what you think of it, after all, if its gunna be side by side with your fab comic, it need sto be decent!

"Well now that that's all done and done, what do you want to do next?"
*A funny look comes over Anna's face.*
" <_< I know that look. You want to go..."
"SHOPPING!!!"
*She pulls along Jeff by the arm. As they reach the shopping center, her eyes begin to sparkle. Jeff hands over his wallet.*
"Here you go. Have fun! ^_^ "
" :wub: Oh I will."
*A half hour later they meet up again. Here hands are empty.*
"You didn't buy anything?"
"Nah. I just like to window shop really. I had you going there didn't I."
"I hate you. ;) "
"Of course you do. ;) "
"Okay seriously though, what should we do?"
"We should probably seek out a boat schedule."
*They walk down to the docks.*
"TWO WEEKS!"
"Yes, I'm sorry. The last one just left 2 hours ago. The next scheduled departure is in two weeks."
"Well poo. I guess we should head back to David's house."
"Alright. Let's go."
*They walk to David's house.*
"So now what?"
"Hmmm... We could ask David to teach us to fish. I bet I'd be alot of fun."
"Yeah alright."
*Just then David walks in.*
"Did someone say fishing? I'd love to. It's a great time of year to go fishing. Let's go!"
*They walk down to the pier. It is a lovely warm day. The ocean glistens beneath the afternoon suns.*

"Well... I overheard you talking about getting out of here and... Look, I know your story, ok? You're not from around here. You were brought here by a computer virus called hellfire, created to destroy everything, but it was changed when it came here. You're from another world, and so am I. But I'm not from your world, I'm from a place no one knew existed... I want to leave just as bad as you do..."

"So how'd you get here in the first place?"

"My world somehow managed to get a connection to your world by something called the 'internet' whatever that is, and we were at risk as long as the virus was around. I was sent to track it down and stop it, and I found it had entered this program so I chased it in, but also found there was no way out."

"So it was just you?"

"I met up with a representative of yet another world who went by the translated name of Crystal, but while entering the program we were separated."

"How'd you get in the internet, anyway?"

"I'm from another world, remember? Technology is more advanced. And somehow they attached a personality to me, thinking I was an NPC uploaded from another game. But around you it doesn't seem to have an effect, I'd say it's the work of the virus if I didn't know better."

"I'm confused. You talk to much, and in big words."

"It pretty simple. Basically, there's a virus in here somewhere, its why you're here and it's why I'm here."

"And we care because...?"

"I'm sticking with you until I find Crystal."

"Oh great... Basically you're saying you're an alien?"

"If you mean someone that's not from your planet, yes."

"So, do you have any wierd powers? Can YOU phone home?"

"You're referring to that stupid Sci-fi movie E.T, right? No, we're just like humans, whoever wrote that has crap for brains. I lost my communicator anyway. Trust me, you won't be able to tell I'm not a human, I've stayed disguised this long haven't I? I'm still classified as an NPC, and that's basically all I am here. My monsters are pathetic, but I have information that might be useful to you."

Silver looked at J again. "Could this get any wierder?"

If you wanna tone it down then do so

basically you guys arnt really you, well you electronic clones brought into a vitual game by a virus that has mutated with an NPC program (Thats shauni)

As for the alien, well, could we say different dimension, that way he can be conetced to our world., but watever rocks ur boat

As for my comic, I decided to base it on this, not follow it religusly, its just the plot HAS got a LITLLE starnge, plus i dont really know what Jeff is doing with his charater

(Silver and J have to get to Jeffs location soon to move the plot on)
shauni could smell the ocean air as she ran, "I must be close to them" she thought to herself
She had quickly made up for lost time by using Ying Yangs "To fast" technique to speed herself up.
She reached the edge of Vallhalo. The smell of the sea soothed her dampened sprite as she severed the beautiful scene.
She looked around at the screan of the city and began to worry "How on earth can I find them in this huge city. They might not even be hear yet"
Shauni suddenly hured a familier voice, it was Jeff. She could her him and two other voices laughing at the dock
She quickly ran over to them and severvaid the scean
Jeff was sitting with two other people she had never seen. She assumed they where NPCs. She decided to watch for a while, unsure of what to do.
Jeff hadnt spotted her, she watched from about 12 meters away, bearlying seeing and hearing them. She could make out a fishing rod
She was a little confused, Jeff didnt seem the type to enjoy fishing, yet she felt an overwelling censation suddnely come over her.
She suddennly relsied something "Wait....I have the power to...."
Shauni looked at her arm and began to think extremly hard of anything she could, she was attempting to change her arm into something else, cahnge its coding, but it didnt work
She looked bleackly at her arm for a moment in disapointment and went back to watching Jeff fish, she figgured she had nothing else to do, and the others would probly come to the dock trying to get on a boat to the east.
For a few hours she watched them fish, not really cathcing anything worth while, when through bordem and exacusiton she fell alsleep.

She began to dream....
"Mother?" asked shauni into the darkness around her
"Mother where are you?"
"Over here shauni!"
"Mother! I cant see you....but wait....I cant have a mother...."
suddnely a ghostly white figure appred before her. It was a woman of about middle age, rappid in a long, flowing rob
"Who are you?" asked the woman to shauni
"Me. I am...." she paused "Im a nobody...I dont have any place to call mine..."
the woman smiled "This is not your world, but you have the power to make it yours."
Shauni looked back at her, but she had disappred into the darkness
"Hello?" she yelled "HELLO!!!!"
Suddenly Jeff appred from the darkness with another person she did not regognise
"Congratulations, Jeff. You are now a full-fleged warrior."
"...thanks."
"What's wrong?
"It's just that... 3 years ago..."
"I see. You know as well as I do that revenge is not the answer."
"You're right. But I will never let that happen to anyone EVER AGAIN!"
Shauni looked on amoased "I...I can change this world. I can.....I can change everthing..."

Shauni was suddnely awaken by Jeff scraing, in a panic she looked around, but it was a faulse alarm, Jeff had hocked a REALLY big fish
Shauni sat back and watched again, contemplationg her dreams menaing....

"Sweet! Let's take this back to your house and... Shauni! Shauni is that you!!! Oh my god it's so great to see you. Where are the others?"
"We... got seperated in the forest. They should be arriving soon."
"Great. Oh I'd like you to meet my new friends. This is Anna and this is Dave."
"Hi, I've heard great things about you. It's nice to finally meet you."
"Hello, I'm Dave. Would you like to join us for dinner? We're having fish, obviously."

(Story is simple. I ran away. I met Anna. We traveled together. We met two bad guys. We beat them. She fought a 'chosen'. An 'unseen force killed the 'chosen'. We went to Vallhalo. We met David. You showed up.)

Shauni looked sinerly happy to see Jeff "I missed you!" she yelled as she flung herself at him for a reasuring hug (Girls need thoughs!)
Jeff was a little uneasy of this but huged her back, Anna looked a little peved
Shauni enturaly stopped hugging him an composed herself "I dont know where the others are, Jeff, I...I left them with Yomico, but they are heading this way"
Jeff looked at shauni with disblef "Why'd you leave em?"
shauni was dreding this moment "Jeff, I went of to think...I I know what I am now, and it frightens me"
Jeff was aware of shunis brackdown at the shrine
"What are you talking about?"
shauni looked back up at him"
"There is no easy way to say this, so ill just say it. I am not human"
Jeff looked at her in horror "what?"
Shauni explained what had happened, but left the part out about the dream, she thought it best to leave one bomb shell at a time
"I see" he replyed "So you are a NPC infected with this Hellfire virus"
Shauni nodded "This spirte told me, it to is infected"
Jeff looked at the Muation Hellfire card
"And you think you infected me when you uploaded my code?"
Shauni nodded again "That would explain something, I do feel like I am connected to this game in deep ways"
Jeff explains about what has happened to him
"Maybe, your code was mixed up with that of the hero character? maybe these things have happened only to you because the hero is the only person in this world that everthing revolves around, and it would explain the dreams that havnt happend, about your mom"
Jeff looked away from shauni
"I'll have to think about that, I find it hard to except I am a mix of two people, myself and this games hero character"
Jeff tured to face anna.
She awiated an explination
