Metalmorph could sence something. Something dark. "Lopa is out. This could mean troubble. SoS are not to be trusted, even in cards."

"A shadow of souls?!?" *Josiah's eyes narrowed.* "Damn, this isn't going to be easy. I should have used one of my stronger monsters... But no time for that now, I need to take an offensive. Yggdrasil, Grand Quake!!!"

(Er, the second part!)

I hope she obeys.... Opal thought, then relizing the battle was on. "Try to avoide it!"

Lopa was still as the quake came to her. Her eyes were shut closed, and as the first vibration hit her, she used the quake's power to jump up, full force, into the air.

"Good! Now use Metal punch!"

Lopa ignored Opal and used Shadow's Revenge.

"Hey....I didn't tell you to do that!" Opal yelled.

"Of be quiet....just because you hold the card doesn't mean you're in control. I can take you out like that." Lopa snapped her fingers. "Now let me battle the way I want." She landed on the ground.

Opal seemed stunned, not able to say anything.

"This looks bad." Silver took out some popcorn.

"Where did you get that?" Neo asked

"Stole it from Jeff and Ibun." He replied.

*Josiah quickly saw that Lopa wasn't taking orders. She was obviously power but hot headed as well, which could give him a much needed advantage.* "Let's try another Grand Quake!" *He watched closely, waiting for Lopa to jump like she had before.*

"You're a fool!" she taunted. "That attack didn't work the first time and it won't work now either!" *Lopa tensed and prepared to jump.*

"Now!" *Josiah shouted just as her feet left the ground.* "Rock Crusher!!!" *Yggdrasil sent a massive boulder flying through the air, which crashed into Lopa, sending her back towards the ground.* "Hurry!" *Josiah didn't let up. He couldn't afford to, not when fighting a Shadow of Souls.* "Multi-Fissure!" *A series of cracks rent the ground while Lopa was still falling. And, as he'd hoped, she ended up falling into one of them while the boulder landed on top, pinning her down.*

Opal stared at Lopa getting pinned, not knowing whether to help her or let her work on her own. But instead she just, thought about things to do after the battle. Closing her eyes, she knew Lopa would faint on her own against a monster who took orders.

Lopa struggled under the tree.
"Grrr....pin me down will ya?" She spat in his 'face'. "I pity you monsters, taking orders from people who battle you so they don't have to face the pain. At least I have courage to not listeen to mine." She laughed, slipping through the shadows.

"Huh? Where did she go?" Josiah seemed a tad confused as the SoS dissappeared under their eyes. Yggdrasil got up, looking around, but no Lopa was in seen.

"Wha?" Opal opened her eyes to see no Lopa. "Oh shoot...." She was panicing in her mind, but showed a good poker face.

Then out of no where (or some other shadow), Lopa jumped out and used metal punch on Yggdrasil

"Don't forget we SoS's can move threw the shadows." She smirked, jumping back. "I await your attack."

"You may act confident," *Josiah was addressing Lopa,* "but I know that series of attacks did a lot of damage. My monsters trust me and know that I can often see things and anticipate movements that they cannot. It's our teamwork that's gotten us this far. Without that you're doomed to failure."

"Save your preaching for someone who cares." *Lopa growled.* "I'll show you power! Metal Punch!!!"

"You've left yourself open! Yggdrasil, Life Drain!" *Yggdrasil's roots shot out of the ground and wrapped themselves tightly around Lopa as they began to drain her strength while healing Yggdrasil.* "Keep it up!" *Josiah encouraged.* "And hold her higher up in the air where they aren't any shadows she can slip through!"

Lopa struggled under Yggdrasil's power, trying to slip free from the attack, but she was getting weaker by the moment.

Opal stared, knowing how to give Lopa enough energy to get free, but if she did, Lopa could go chaotic and hurt us all. She decided enough was enough and let her monster faint.

"Nooo! I can't lose! You stupid humans thinking you can over power the creatures that came first! And you weren't even born here!" Lopa hissed out her last breath, then fainted.

Opal kept her cool, returning Lopa to her card.
"Nice job Josiah." She forced a smile, putting her cards away.

"Yeah you too." He returned Yggdrasil. "Never battled an SoS monster before, so this was some expirence." He added before the two stepped away from the arena.

Opal breathed deeply against the wall. She never wanted to go through that again.
"I must find Virgo..." He mumbled, taking another look at Lopas card.

(Any guess on what Opal's planning?)

(And while I was typing that above, my dad won $155.70 o_O)

((Shauni, would you mind holding off your battle with Amhal for a day or two until Neo introduces his new NPC? In the meantime Opal can do whatever she's planning and our characters can talk and whatnot.))

"Good match." said Neo as Opal and Josiah came off the field and to where Silver and Neo and Metalmorph were watching.

"Thanks. I must say it was intresting."

"Now who is next?"

Meanwhile footsteps could be heard and a voice. "Anyone down there?" Neo about froze and ducked behind Josiah. "Hide me...", said Neo.

A young women in her early 20's came down the hall. She was dressed in a white dress with a white ribbon in her hair. Her hair was jet black. "Hey you trainers. Have you seen Neo?"

"Oh great..." *Josiah wasn't sure what he had just gotten into the middle of. On the one hand, Neo clearly didn't want to be scene by the new commer. On the other hand, there didn't seem to be any good reason to help him hide. Unsure what to do, he remained silent.*

"Yeah, he's right there." *Silver has no such worries and simply pulled Neo out into the open.*

"Neo!", said Tsuekasa as she jumptackled Neo.

"Umph!" , said Neo when she landed on him and he fell backwards.

"It's soo good to see you. It's been too long. Almost 2 years now." she said still hugging him. "Where where you and why didn't you come back?" After Tusekasa said that she punched Neo.

"Ow, what was that for?"

"For not comming back and seeing me in almost 2 years. But I'm sorry I had to do that."

"It's ok. Guess I did deserve it, though I was back last week but you were gone."

"I know. The shop keeper said soo. But besides comming to see you I do have something to tell you. Our village was attacked 3 days after you left to come here. It was bad. Worse we've ever had. Noone had seen anything like it. There were at least 10 monsters that came. Our first defence manage to defeat afew but many still broke through and even the secound defence didn't do so well. 1/5 of the village was destroyed. Luckly your house still stands but many weren't lucky, including afew shops. And..." she said with a pause with some tears. "some people didn't make it. The monsters then went around and terrioised the area and they were all defeted eventually buy trainers in the area. It was as if something made them attack. The most ever seen attack were 3 and they were of the same monster, not different types."

As Neo heard all this his heart sank. How could this of happened? "It must be due to the dark shrine still left." , said Neo to himself. He knew he felt something in the forest. Now this proved it. "I'll come back and see what I can do after this tournament."

"Thanks Neo. I guess boyfriends are good for something."

"Gee thanks. And will you drop that already?"

"No." said Tsuekasa as she helped Neo up and clung to his arm.

"Well, time to go to the VIP seats."

"Well, this is new." , said Metalmorph
