Re: Return of the Revenge of the Son of Saying Hi to Josiah!
Hey,
So, I didn't really follow up my post about leaving for Thanksgiving, did I? Well, now's a better time than any to tell the tale of my travels.
The night before I left, after 3-4 hours of washing clothes (and getting locked out of my room once), I had finally gotten everything ready to go. I got on the bus, got off at the right stop, and rode the train home quite successfully. The fun part was the train ride though. I was supposed to arrive back in town around 2 pm, but my train got stuck behind a freight train about 2 hours into my 4 hour train ride (apparently freight trains take priority over passenger trains in the US). It started as a 30 minute delay, than an hour long delay, until we finally passed the train, but not with out racking up a 2 and a half hour delay from our usual schedule. So, I didn't arrive back home until 5 pm (my dad had to pick me up at the station). Even worse is that I missed the chance to see my friends due to me being exhausted after the train ride and other holiday matters. Hopefully I'll get to meet up with them after finals are over with...
So, other than that train ride, I had a good Thanksgiving, if a quiet one. Only my parents, my grandma, and I were there. My cousins (who usually come as well) were busy dealing with several feet of snow, lucky them.
Also, on the matters of Pokemon games, I've been pondering whether I should get the Omega/Alpha remakes. What do you guys think? Worth it for a relatively poor, but still very nostalgic college student to get?
Anyway, I've got classes to get to and studying for finals to do. Stay radical, people!

Hi! No comment on ORAS yet since I haven't had time to play it.
So what have I been up to? Thursday was Thanksgiving, of course, with my parents and some of their friends, which was nice if rather low key. Friday was a bit of shopping and helping my dad set up his new laptop. Sunday was hiking and more laptop setup. And yesterday was snorkeling and doing some other work for that dad (that I've getting paid for, so that's nice). I'll still be doing that stuff for my dad for a while and now that the weekend is over, I've got regular work, of course. Mainly finals related stuff and prep for next semester. I'm also trying to squeeze a lot of Japanese study in, since I want to take a language proficiency test. Only a couple weeks to go until the end of the semester, and then I'll have about a month off, though Connie will be visiting again, so that'll lead to some other things taking up my time (in good ways, I'm sure).

My lord it was cold this morning in the UK. First morning this year I had to defrost my car and avoid ice on the ground.
Ruby and Sapphire are good games. There not exactly as ground breaking as X and Y, as they are using the same engine, and if you have played the originals the maps, pokemon and plot is pretty much the same, but that being said I am enjoying the games and would recommended them.

Re: Return of the Revenge of the Son of Saying Hi to Josiah!
Greetings All,
Been awhile, hope you're all doing okay. Sorry I come around and post and then disappear again a lot. I miss you all though, I often come on and ghost and don't post anything because I can't think of anything.
So a lot of stuff has been happening in my life mainly involving people around me. Older sister had a brain tumour which resulted in an emergency family trip to England to be with her. Her operation went well and confirmed to be non-cancerous so its all okay now, was pretty scary for while there though. Another friend has had a break-up from a serious relationship, another couple have been fired for stupid reasons (pretty much someone else got them fired because they didn't like them), another couple have had fairly serious health problems show up. I haven't been the best health wise either. . . Man this is really depressing isn't it. . .
On the bright side, went to the Supanova (it was awesome) Saw Alan Tyduk, did a random Kiba Inuzuka cosplay because I got an Akamaru plush and decided to cosplay as Kiba about 3 weeks before Supanova. That was fun though. Also I finally got to go to the Lion King musical! That was last night. It Was Amazing! Uni's going along okay and my fluffys (birds) are all good. We now have 10 birds, and Brook and Inko~Chan (two of the Cockatiels) have officially mated, Inko's laid 4 eggs, unfortunately they all smashed since it her first time and all (She was sitting on a perch when she laid them). Also our pigeon has laid 4 eggs as well now, all infertile though.
Wow that's a lot of typing, and probably a lot of bad grammar too. Sorry guys. ^_^ Will try to come around more often.
Love you all. ^_^

Re: Return of the Revenge of the Son of Saying Hi to Josiah!
Hi! Nice to see you here, Kaida. Glad things turned out ok for your sister.
It's the last week of the semester for me, though final projects aren't due until Wednesday so I've got a couple more days before all the grading starts. I do have some stuff to prep for spring though, along with various other things to do. Still haven't managed to get out and see the new Hunger Games movie, which is annoying. I could squeeze it in this week, though at this point I'm thinking maybe I'll just wait a week and go with Connie, though I'm worried it might get knocked out of theaters by The Hobbit.
In random other news, I've been watching a lot of Phineas and Ferb lately. Saw an episode on TV at random and thought it was kinda amusing, then noticed they had a bunch on Netflix... It's good background when working that I don't need to pay too much attention to.

He! Good to see you around, Kaida! And glad to hear that everything is at least... stable, after that rough patch.
And Josiah, do you know how many screens your theater has? 'Cause that's gonna determine how long Hunger Games stays. Mine's got 10, which is pretty small (For comparisons sake, Regals go up to 24) and I'm pretty confident we'll still have Hunger Games for a while. We've still got Gone Girl and St. Vincent playing, and they came out in October... Now I'm sure they'll be going when Hobbit comes out, and Penguins of Madagascar will go from having separate screens for regular and 3D down to just one, but Hunger Games will be fine.

"Irregardless" and "Over exaggerated" are NEVER CORRECT EVER because they are redundant
Regardless means "without regard", and adding "ir" on the front actually makes it a double negative; exaggerate means "to overstate" so you're literally saying "over overstate."
Example: I can not exaggerate the importance of this fact enough, regardless of how often people ignore it.

I dunno, better to see if sooner than leave it to late. Some friends and I went to go and see Horns which had not even been out a month before it was taken out of the cinemas, and that had Daniel Radcliffe in it. To be fare though, the Hunger Games is a huge movie and will be out a while.

Re: Return of the Revenge of the Son of Saying Hi to Josiah!
Hi! Thanks, Silver. I've got a 16 and a couple of 20ish screen theaters in easy driving distance, plus a couple smaller ones, so it sounds I'll be fine if I wait.
You know, watching some of the recent American kids shows that attract all ages (My Little Pony, Phineas and Ferb, Total Drama, etc.) kinda makes me want to write a pitch for my own. I'm thinking a slightly snarky Americanized take on the magical girl genre. But I've got way more fun project ideas than I have time to work on them...so I rather doubt I'll get to it any time soon. Maybe I'll do less travel this summer and focus on my projects (Aurora's Nightmare being the priority until it's done) instead. Not sure if I'll be able to afford to spend the whole summer traveling anyway after this big expensive move.

Re: Return of the Revenge of the Son of Saying Hi to Josiah!
Hey,
Huh, ever since I got to college, I haven't really gotten to see any movies. Not that I saw many before as I don't go out much, but still, it might be nice to go out and see one. Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately, after my previous sentence), not many movies released have piqued my interest much.
So, I'd love to say that I'm going to be sticking around a bit more here, but finals is upon me, and even now I should be studying (or possibly sleeping). Maybe after finals, during the break, I'll try to get back into the swing of things.
Stay radical, people.

I'm not going to be around much at Christmas and New Years, but thats just because of the Holidays. I love the fact my job doesnt have home work LOL
I'd love to see a cartoon series by someone I know, you should go for it when you get the time.

Hi! I've yet to decide on what my next project will be after Aurora's Nightmare is finished. Though doing some scripts and sketches for an animated series is a far cry from getting it produced (I have a few leads on that front, but no real connections). Anyway, we'll see. It's a possibility, as is another novel, another visual novel, and a couple other ideas I'm not ready to talk about yet.

I hope you're doing well Josiah!

I was browsing Amazon the other day and I saw a robot uprising survival guide. Upon checking this guide I saw an audio CD version I smirked and laughed at the irony.

Hi! I'm doing fine, thanks. As for the forums, they have periods of decent activity every once in a while but yeah, they're generally pretty slow.
Well, I've finished grading. Though I can't actually submit my final grades yet since, for some reason, they decided that finals period would be the perfect time to take the down the student services system, which includes grading.
I've got a couple busy days left though. Connie will be getting here on Wednesday and I've got a list of things to do before then.

Well there's still a few people about. I do believe that at the very least this forum is regarded fondly by the expatriates, and you never know who might turn back up. I mean even Simeon freaking came back.

Hi! Yeah, everyone seems to have fond memories of the forums, and drop in every once in a great while.
So, Connie is back and here for a while (just under the 90 day tourist visa limit). It's part vacation and part job hunt (she's got great qualifications, but finding a place that'll do a visa sponsorship can be tricky), though that part will likely wait until after new years. The big question now is how we'll do together long term (and not always in vacation mode). If we're still happy together after three months in the same house, that should be a pretty good sign.
