Gah, I was all set to start this yesterday...and I got distracted. Anyway, let's go!

It was day like any other. Orange skies, purple grass, attacking monsters, repetitive background music... Ok, so ordinary days in the virtual reality MMO known as That Game don't quite match up with reality. Stevenson had just logged in for a day of lizard tail collecting when an eerie message echoed through the game. The mafia had taken control and trapped all the players (which, at the moment, was just Stevenson) in the game! And death in the game meant death in real world. The only way out was to defeat the moderately difficult Generic Giant Demon boss. Stevenson knew he had no chance but suddenly another player logged in! Offering his/her (it's hard to tell in a MMO) services as a white mage, the player known only as Doctor joined with Stevenson to defeat the boss and successfully escape back to the real world! But who was the source of this mafia take over? Worried something might happen again, the game's players gathered together to discuss the matter.

Holy cow! What an exciting turn of events!
So...um...just FYI guys: not the mafia.

Now see this is a difficult thing; if I try to analyze who would think to kill me first, then that list is also full of people who would think to save me first. So I could very well be voting for the doctor here, and if so I'm very sorry! But I think it's Poik. I think Poik's the mafia.

I, conversely, think that Poik is NOT the mafia.

I think... it's Cheesey! Who else would have the know-how to hack a game to make you die? I'd say it's the guy who is cheese. That's my logic and I'm sticking to it.

It could be either of those two, but my vote goes to Poison, just because, its a very, hitman name *shifty eyes*

I like the setting, but you all left too many clues as to who the culprit is.

The most obvious one is that Stevenson is trying to cover his own tracks by attacking himself. If we're unlucky, the Doctor is also in on the deal, but perhaps he just managed to trick the Doctor into helping him.
Somewhat less evidently, Silver started with an accusation of innocence (of all the nerve) and attempted to draw attention to another player. Why is this suspicious? If it were just an accusation, then it would be too obvious that Silver was trying to draw attention away from himself, but this way, it looks more like a well reasoned response. That or he's the spy.
Somewhat more evident, as Shauni said, is the fact that Poison's name is a very hitman like name.
Somewhat more evident than that is the blind accusation from Shauni. Also, those shifty eyes are very shifty.
Somewhat unevidently, many cheeses are made from goat's milk, goats are associated with the devil, demons are associated with the devil as well, so logically, Cheez is made from the demon that was sent to kill Stevenson. Okay, maybe that wasn't that logical, but Cheez is still a suspect.
But without question, the most obvious clue was Poik, seeding suspicious over all the characters, even himself, in a lengthy post that probably will be skimmed.

tl;dr: It was Cheez. Or maybe Poik. But I'm voting Cheez.

Again, someone votes for me because of my name. Ho-hum. It is the weight I choose to bear.

Anyway. I'm rather suspicious of Poik, but if I were to vote for him, it would bring us to a tie in the votes, which could become a three-way tie if Cheez chooses to accuse me.
To avert this, I will go with my next-best guess and vote Cheez.

For no particular reason, the players decided to accuse Cheez so they perma-banned him from the game (and set his real life house on fire for good measure).

But the death game wasn't over yet! Ok special people, PM me who you're killing, saving, investigating in the next round.

Just when the players of That Game thought it was safe to play again, disaster struck and another death game was started, trapping them all inside (it really isn't a very popular game, with so few players). Fortunately, most of them were safe in the starting town when the death game started. Unfortunately, Silver just happened to be exploring the Fiery Spike Pit of Acid at the time. Needless to say, he was never heard from again. Realizing that the mafia was still at large, the remaining players hurried to hold another vote.

I am very, very surprised that I didn't die there. Well, I guess that means that the mafia is...oh man...is it...

Ah, heck I have no idea. Poison? Maybe? But I'm open to suggestions.

I would have said Cheezdude as Silver voted for him, but as he is already out it could be anyone. Wild accusation time! I think its Poik or poison, so Im going to go with poison again, trust my first instinct.

Clever ploy, Silver. Pretending to be dead to throw off suspic- Oh. Well, it must have been Cheez!... Oh... Man.
Well, that just leaves:

Poison, who was suspiciously silent last round until she saw the chance to tip the scales. Perhaps to keep people from noticing and voting for her, and to end the round faster so that people could not change their vote.
Poik, who starting accusing everyone like it was going out of style, then started the necessary number of votes needed to accuse Cheez. If it weren't for him giving Poison the chance to jump on the bandwagon, then Cheez may still be alive. Heck, Silver might be too.
Stevenson, who attacked themself in league with the doctor to throw people off his trail! Clever.
Shauni, who seems to think these death games are all just fun and games! Only the Mafia would be so careless with people's lives.

Obviously I think it's either Shauni or Poison, but frankly, I have to vote Poik, because I'm at a complete loss right now and would like to hear another perspective to help me decide.

We also just finished a bottle of Sake, and I should probably sleep it off.
