Re: Return of the Revenge of the Son of Saying Hi to Josiah!
I got invited to a party for the first time today, it made me happy. I can't go, but it's nice that I'm getting invited places now that I'm in college.
I can't even handle a full time workload yet. I don't even know how to study, so I'm doing horribly in the class where you pretty much have to memorize the exact wording of everything the teacher says. I refuse to drop the class, though. I'm nothing if not perseverant (read: stubborn). Hopefully I can get better than a C in this class. I'll do fine in my other classes, as long as I get my essays done on time.
I hope that you can get that job, Josiah. It seems like you want it. Saber, if you have a light schedule next semester, maybe you can use the time to work and build up a bit of money? BFC, stop giving everyone advice and start doing your work.
Also, The Stanley Parable is a great game, and it kept me up really late last night. If you don't know what it is, you should try the demo, because the demo is completely separate from the actual game, yet it lets you know exactly what the game is about. Now I'm going to go get the ending that involves pressing the same button for four hours. No, really.

Moi,
Snow has landed here. I repeat, there is snow on the ground.
That means that an avatar change is in order for me soon...sometime soon...when I feel like it.
In other news, not that much has been going on with me. Visited RIT Saturday, so that was pretty cool. Made me both worried and excited for college. Guess I'll just have to see how it is when I get there.
Anyway, it's late so I'll be heading off to sleep.

Hey.
I was walking home from campus last night around 1 AM and then it was snowing and it was so very lovely and I basically grinned like an idiot the whole way home, despite the chill wind biting at my face. I freaking love snow.
COLLEGE IS FUN be excited for college. It'll make you question all of your life decisions as you sit staring at a problem set at 4 AM, BUT THAT'S OKAY I love college anyways.
SO today is a big day for me. Actually kind of one of the most stressful days of my life so far.Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh HERE GOES
At least I'm getting some cheesecake today.

Hi! I'm back from my grandma's. I feel kind of sorry for her. She basically spends most of her time being miserable but it's mostly her own doing. She complains about being lonely, but doesn't want to try and make friends (and she doesn't consider the ones she does have anything more than good acquaintances because she hasn't known them as long as her old friends). She says she doesn't have anything to do, but she doesn't participate in all the clubs and activity groups in her area because they're not up to her standards and she doesn't go on outings because she's already been to the place once or just doesn't feel like it. I couldn't even get to her look at some photos or play cards with me. She doesn't like the food at her place, never mind that she has the choice between half a dozen dining areas, with a wide variety and quality on par with that of decent restaurants. She always complains about her health, yet her memory is good and she can walk around and care for herself perfectly well. Compared to that, my other grandmother's health is terrible and she's living in a place that really isn't all that great (she's there solely because she likes the location), but she's happy. I'd rather not end up like either of them but, if I had to choose, I think the latter would be the better option.

Saber, you're making me miss snow. Also, I'm sure college will be great when I live in a dorm, but for now I'm stuck still living at home for both this and the next semester. Yay.
Josiah, I'm sure that you can find a way to end up happily content in a nice place.
My friend just got me watching Doctor Who. It's really interesting.
I have been procrastinating everything I need to do, someone knock some sense into me.

Re: Return of the Revenge of the Son of Saying Hi to Josiah!
Greetings All!
So finished my semester of uni and realized I have nothing much to do now and thought to myself 'Hey I haven't been to pebble version in ages, I miss everyone, I should go there-' So here I am. Three months of freedom and I have lots of personal projects I'm working on but at the moment all I can do is sit here playing Pokemon.
So waiting on my results from this semester, Didn't do was well this semester as previous ones so all want is a pass. And an looking at just doing one course next semester instead of four, not sure at the moment, their changing my course codes and stuff so I need to go talk to someone and sort out what's happening.
Besides uni, so about a month ago when I'll walking home from the train station (which is a couple hundred meters down the road) I'lls going through the little park next to the cricket/footy fields and noticed a pigeon that was wondering around on the ground had no tail feathers and looked very ruffled. So I followed it around the park for a bit and it just kept walking away from me, if I went faster, it went faster and its right wing didn't look right so I called up Robby and he said to chase it around and see if it took off.
So I chased it around and it eventually tried to fly off and it was missing all its flight feathers on its right wing. It stumbled because trying to fly through it off balance and I backed off so it went back to wondering around being a pigeon. Called Robby and stood around watching the pigeon but keeping my distance while I waited for Robby to walk down with our little cage.
Then began the fun of chasing a poor injured pigeon around the park trying to catch it. On very puffed frighten pigeon and a bloody nose later we had caught a little pigeon. (I managed to put the top part of the cage over it when it tried to take flight again, it pretty much face-planted the ground and I was able to put the cage over it).
So we now had a little pigeon who ended up getting named Sonic because it gave us the run around and Robby got injured so it seemed appropriate. Robby's sister and mother took it to theirs because they were better equipped to look after him. He was released about a week ago with his feathers all grown back.
So that was our first pigeon. We got our second a few days ago when Robby was walking past a bakery nearby. He noticed this little young pigeon cowering in the corner. Walked towards her to make sure she was okay and she made no movement. So he got closer and picked her up. no resistance whatsoever. This s not something you can do with wild birds, so something wasn't right. Essentially no one would take her because she has all her feathers and doesn't look like there's anything wrong with her. so we ended up keeping her in a spare cage for the night just to make sure everything was okay. We noticed a bug crawling on her. After doing some research and going off what we saw we figured it was a pigeon fly. Their like a cross between a fly and a mosquito and well we decided to try and get it off by giving her a bath.
One very very wet pigeon later and ten dead pigeon flies I was incredibly grossed out and really need a shower. Robby was too but her was busy cuddling a little pigeon wrapped in a blanket. Essentially she's weak and malnourished due to the little bloodsuckers. The next day we got some spray and sprayed her as well as all our birds.
So now we're looking after a pigeon who we have dubbed Pidgey. She's still really weak and can't really fly due to lack of strength. And we've had massive storms every night for the past four days so we haven't really wanted to release her yet either.
So that's pretty much whats been happening with me. Uni, Work, and rescuing pigeons. Oh and I'm going to a friends wedding on Saturday.
Nice to see everyone's doing pretty well too. ^_^

Hi! Nice to see you, Kaida! That's cool with the pigeons. My family found an injured bird once, but we turned it over to the animal shelter since we didn't really know how to take care of it.
I don't have much going on this weekend so I'm thinking it'd be a good time to clean my apartment and work on some other assorted chores. Probably go see Thor too. Next week, on the other hand, things should be a bit busier. Aside from having a bunch of assignments to grade and a special presentation to do at work, I'll be preparing for a pre-Thanksgiving party that weekend, since some friends and I want to introduce some of the Japanese exchange students we know to Thanksgiving while everyone is actually here. My new laptop could be showing up as well, which means an hour or so of excitement followed by a couple days of far less exciting file transfers and program installations.
You know, I should probably start planning for the Week of Randomness as well...

Re: Return of the Revenge of the Son of Saying Hi to Josiah!
I have raised a duck and two robins. Raised is correct, they hatched and the parents didn't take care of them, so we did. The duck got along well with our dog, though he died before we got the robins. We actually took the duck to the nearby lake to release it, and it flew back to our house for a day before heading back to the lake.
Last night, my mom and I were driving home, when we saw a woman and her children standing a ways away from a smoking car. We figured they would be there for a while, so we stopped and let them sit in the heat of our car, because it was 36°F outside, and they weren't dressed for it. I mean, I stood outside the car for an hour while we waited in nothing but shorts and a short-sleaved t-shirt, but I'm from Michigan, they're from Texas, and they had a young baby and two girls that couldn't have been ten among them. It was nice to help, of course, just a bit boring.
I have two five page research papers due next week, and I haven't worked on either. So, that should take up a day of my weekend.
When I have stuff to do, the weeks just seem to fly by. It's nice, really.
Anime convention this December. Yay!

Hey.
SO I had drum major elections this week.... and, as it would turn out, I'm the new Cornell Big Red Marching Band drum major! Would you fancy that.
Words can't even describe how happy I am. I've been in a daze the past few days. It's been incredible.

Hi! Congrats, Saber!
I've got an interview in about an hour (unrelated to that previous one I mentioned). It's just an initial video chat thing, but here's hoping it goes well.

Moi,
I got back from yet another college visit (no sleeping in on Saturdays for me...), this time for Oswego. It's right next to lake Ontario, so you can walk down to the beach and watch the sun set. The campus itself is pretty nice, and everyone is really friendly.
Also, while my dad and I were driving there and back, I saw two kind of interesting sights. We passed by a road called "Knickerbocker road" and I cannot say it without smiling or laughing. Seriously. Knickerbocker. Knickerbocker...
Anyway, we also passed by a diner with one of the most generic names I have seen. It was called, and I'm not kidding here, "The Local Diner". The only way you could be more generic is if you called a supermarket or grocery store "The Store".
So, other than that, not much has been going on with me. School and stuff. The usual.
And...yeah. Stuff.
Stay radical people!

Hi! I was going shopping today and ended up buying a lot more than I'd planned. Seemed everywhere I went was having some sort of big sale. Though I did get a lot of books and some Blu-rays for good prices. Heck, Best Buy has season 6 of Doctor Who on Blu-ray for something like $23 dollars. I mean, the DVD version costs twice that much.

'Lo, peeps. So I survived my college accounting midterms without too much hassle, and the rest of my free time has been occupied by my newly-purchased copy of Minecraft, and I will probably be posting screenshots of my world at some point later. Apart from that things have been mostly hunky-dory, so I don't really have anything else to say for the moment. Doodleshark out. *Sinks beneath the waves*

Hi! I don't have to work Thanksgiving, but likely won't be doing anything too special on the day itself, but I do have that pre-Thanksgiving Thanksgiving party on Sunday. Not entirely sure what I'm going to do over Thanksgiving break. Possibilities include: a Chanukah party (it's early this year) if any of my friends are going to be around, going to the movies (Frozen, and Catching Fire if I don't get to it this weekend), going to a theme park, and hanging out working on Aurora's Nightmare and playing video games.
