The Forum Awards 2013
The Forum Awards 2013
Should have started this a few days ago but I go sidetracked. Anyway, it's time for the Forum Awards. As usual, the categories are:
Best Overall Poster
For the person who is just all around awesome no matter what type of thread they're posting in.
Nicest Poster
For the most friendly and considerate person.
Best Role Player
For the person who makes the best posts in RPs.
Most Fun Poster
For the one who makes the most amusing posts and keeps things lively.
Best Gamer
For the one who makes the best posts in game threads.
Special Achievement Award
To recognize a special contribution someone has made to the forums, such as running a particularly great RP, starting a really neat game, or whatever else you can think of.
You have from now through the 25th (Tuesday) to PM me your nominations (DON'T POST THEM HERE). Just send me a PM listing who you want to nominate for each category. The rules are:
1. You can nominate any forum member (except yourself) for any category.
2. You can only nominate one person per category.
3. You can't nominate the same person for more than one category, except for the Special Achievement Award, for which you can nominate someone you've already nominated for something else.
4. For the Special Achievement Award nomination, list both the person you're nominating and what you're nominating them for (i.e. being an amazing Mafia narrator).
I'll review the nominations and select the top two or three of people in each category (based on number of nominations received and a few other factors) and post the finalists on Wednesday, at which point we'll vote for the winners.
Please PM me your nominations now.

Re: The Forum Awards 2013
Upon further review, we're going to skip the Best New Member award this year. There just haven't been any particularly active new members.
Re: The Forum Awards 2013
Since I haven't received many nominations yet, I'll go ahead and extend the date through the end of the week. It means the Forum Awards will run a little late, but I started the process a bit late to begin with.
Re: The Forum Awards 2013
Due to the downtime, I might have missed some last minute nominations. If anyone sent in nominations on Friday or Saturday, please re-send them.
Re: The Forum Awards 2013
Well, all that downtown didn't help and we're running kind of late (the PFV anniversary was yesterday), but it's time to move on to the voting. The nominees are...
Best Overall Poster
Josiah (I'm apparently running unopposed, so yay me!)
Nicest Poster
Saber Knight
Shauni
Best Role Player
Simeon
Stevenson
Most Fun Poster
Silver
Poisonwing14
Best Gamer
Doodleshark
Blastotoise
Special Achievement Award
Silver for Bringing Back Old Members
Saber Knight for Having Too Much Drama
As usual, PM me your votes (remember you CAN vote for yourself). You have through Monday (the 8th).

Re: The Forum Awards 2013
So I actually just burst out laughing at the special achievement award nomination I got. Too much lolz.
May the Triforce be with you.

Re: The Forum Awards 2013
I... forgot to vote... oh man, I think that's the first time this has ever happened.
"Irregardless" and "Over exaggerated" are NEVER CORRECT EVER because they are redundant
Regardless means "without regard", and adding "ir" on the front actually makes it a double negative; exaggerate means "to overstate" so you're literally saying "over overstate."
Example: I can not exaggerate the importance of this fact enough, regardless of how often people ignore it.

Re: The Forum Awards 2013
I don't know how easy or hard this would be, but it would mean a lot to me if you could make a graphic for Best Member named Stevenson award this year.
Stevenson's Vocabulary Word of the Week:
Foment: (verb) To excite or arouse, i.e. 2014's Week of Randomness hopes to foment some activity on the forums.
Stevenson's Latin Phrase of the Week:
Brutum Fulmen: (senseless thunderbolt) This phrase, coined by Pliny the elder, is used to refer to an empty threat.

And the winners are:
The Forum Awards 2013

And Stevenson, since you asked...
Congrats everyone! Comics will likely start in a week or two.

Re: The Forum Awards 2013
Well, I'm very happy, but...er...I've always been...or, the one time I won anything...I was a shiny Wobbuffet. You can even see it in my signature. Is that...not okay? Not that I mind Mr Mime, but...

Re: The Forum Awards 2013
Er... Then where did... Ah, here we go. I grabbed everyone's Pokémon from my document listing old Forum Awards winners. A few years back you were a finalist for (but didn't win) Best RPer, at which point you requested Mr. Mime if you won. Since that was more recent than your wobbuffet win, that's what I used. Would you rather have a wobbuffet?

Er, yeah. If that's okay. I don't know what was going on in my mind at that point.
