Return of the Revenge of the Son of Saying Hi to Josiah!
Re: Return of the Revenge of the Son of Saying Hi to Josiah!
Hi! Speaking of building up tolerance and health problems, did you know that caffine works the same way? It causes different problems than alcohol, but overdoing coffee, energy drinks, and even tea can cause your body to build an immunity so you need more to get energy and then your body gets reliant on it and it becomes harder and harder to remain awak and alert without caffine. Don't get me wrong, I love tea (though don't like coffee and I avoid energy drinks entirely), but moderation is important there as well.
Anyway, between work and doing stuff with friends, this is the first chance all day I've had to get on the forums and it's really late so I can't stay. I'll catch up on things tomorrow...

High five for me to. i'm less awkward socially when I've had a drinkPlus, you get the magic superpower of the ability to socialize better! Yay for a drink or two making me exceedingly less awkward!
Also, if you listen to health reports EVERYTHING is bad for you lol. I think everything in moderation. Some people says a glass of red wine a day is good for you.

Re: Return of the Revenge of the Son of Saying Hi to Josiah!
Hey.
On the note of coffee, that is something that I do not drink! I'm too afraid of getting an addiction, and I very much cannot afford an addiction! Though there are days that I've been half asleep all day and it's been tempting, I've figured out other measures. Those measures generally include slapping myself across the face, chewing gum (gives me something to do to be awake during lecture, though it has on occasion failed me), and drinking copious amounts of soda.
One last note on drinking: I also get the magic superpower of an excuse to be really huggy with people. It's still something I do while sober, and is generally okay with band people, but then it becomes EXTRA okay with band people and it's great and I like hugs. My new habit when tipsy is to go up to my friends and be like "bro, let's platonically cuddle." and that means INSTA CUDDLING without any awkwardness of someone thinking that I'm trying to make a move or something. It's the best!
Also, today is DRAGON DAY! So I'm gonna go get ready for classes so I can watch the parade (or, what I can see of the parade since I have A FREAKING QUIZ DURING HALF OF IT). Ta!

Moi,
Beware the ides of March!
...Yeah, I've been saying that all day. I think only my teachers and two or three of my friends knew what I was talking about...Oh well.
Congratulations, Shauni! Great job!
And, Saber, you don't drink coffee? My gosh, coffee is the only thing that gets me up in the morning. I started drinking coffee when I was three or four years old (though it was mainly warm milk and sugar back then), so I got hooked early on. I have limited myself to one cup a day though, and, for the most part, I only drink it on the week-days. I used to have up to three cups of coffee a day, once in the morning, and one or two when I got home from school. The reason I started limiting myself is that I got a bit tired of the caffeine-deprivation headaches after a while.
I have to admit, while coffee is a bit addictive, it's just as addictive as drinking something like soda. They both have caffeine, though coffee does pack a bit more per cup, and if you drink either in large enough amounts for long (or short) periods of time and then suddenly stop, the headaches come.
But still, I will always support coffee. I mean, I don't smoke, I don't drink alcohol, I don't do drugs. The least I can ask for is a good cup of coffee in the morning to help me get through the day.
I also suppose that coffee is a bit less expensive then soda in the long run, at least if you make it at home. Yeah, you'll have to buy a coffee maker first and a pack of filters every once in a while, but I think it's well worth it. Just find a brand you like, or the cheapest one, depending on how much money you're willing/able to spend, and your good. If you're the type who likes milk, sugar, and/or creamer in your coffee, like me, you'll also want to keep those on hand.
And, from what I've seen, it's a lot easier to carry a thermos of coffee around then a bottle or can of soda.
Also, compared to soda, it's rather healthy, too. Yeah, I'm sure there are better alternatives out there (for example, almost all of my older female relatives tell me I should get into tea), but coffee is not that bad. I'd say coffee is where I get a good portion of my daily milk needs, and the sugar I add to it gives me an extra boost in the morning before my ADD meds fully kick in.
So, in conclusion, coffee is pretty dang awesome. I understand if you don't like it because of the strong taste or something, but if you need to wake up in the morning or keep your mind focused for a few hours (or stay awake during an all-nighter), coffee is probably going to be your greatest ally.
...I think I just wrote a short persuasive essay on coffee there...Dang it, English class!
Anyway, I think later tonight my older cousin will be coming over and is suppose to be staying at my house for a day or two. I believe she's here for a rehearsal of some kind. She's in collage right now and majors in ballet and, my gosh, is she good. I haven't seen her in a while, too, so it'll be nice to catch up a bit while she's here.
That's all I got for now. Stay radical, people! Dif-tor heh smusma.

Re: Return of the Revenge of the Son of Saying Hi to Josiah!
Hi! Congrats, Shauni! That's really cool.
Coffee is better (healthwise) than soda, at least if it's black. Beyond that, it really just comes down to how much sugar and other stuff are in the soda versus the coffee. But yeah, if you drink enough caffine in any form to get to the point where you get depravation headaches or can't stay awake and alert without it, you've got a problem. Personally, I've never needed caffine to stay awake. Most of the time, so long as I get enough sleep and don't get extremely bored or something, I'm good. There have been a few time I've had a lot of trouble getting up and/or staying awake, but going on Endo Supreme for a while fixed that. It's a product my dad made, but it's entirely one herb and doesn't have any side effects or anything. It doesn't give you an instant energy boost like caffine can (at least not for me, some people get that from it), but if you take it for a while it'll really boost your endocrine system, which is what controls your overall energy levels. Ironically, lots of caffine and sugar (which are the go-to's for quick energy), weaken the endocrine system, forcing a dependence. Exposure to too many chemicals and a lack of sleep weaken it as well.
The things I learn from having a dad, and now a brother, in healthcare.
Also, as a note to Shauni, if you read the right stuff, you'll find people who try to make a case that everything is good for you. Some are true, but a lot are sponsored by some company or special interest group and are rather misleading. Some research and common sense is a good idea.

Re: Return of the Revenge of the Son of Saying Hi to Josiah!
Hey.
Okay, the comment on soda was an offhand thing. I don't drink soda often. I limit my soda consumption to generally only around 12 AM when I have a lot of work to finish. That way, since I don't have it much, just having a little bit is enough to give me a bit of a caffeine kick to get me through the rest of my work without falling asleep.
Dragon Day was pretty cool! Lots of architects dressed ridiculously and a giant dragon! And I'm also now on SPRING BREAK WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
(I mean, yes, I am on Spring Break, but I am not on "Spring Break", if you know what I mean. Spending spring break with relatives, so it'll be all calm and stuff.)

Hi! They're playing the first movie of the Evangeleon reboot on Adult Swim tonight. I'm actually kind of happy about that. I've been wanting to see them but not enough to buy the DVDs (I have very mixed feelings about the original Eva), so this should give me an idea of whether or not this version is better.

Re: Return of the Revenge of the Son of Saying Hi to Josiah!
I haven't seen it myself (will be watching it tonight) but from what I understand it's completely ok to watch this one without having seen the series (which is good because I haven't seen much of it). It's a reboot, not a sequel or anything. It's like how the Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha movie is just a retelling of the first season, and the Puella Magi Madoka Magica movie is an Abridged version of part of the series.
...So... it's bad that I've watched Nanoha and Madoka but not Evangelion, isn't it?

"Irregardless" and "Over exaggerated" are NEVER CORRECT EVER because they are redundant
Regardless means "without regard", and adding "ir" on the front actually makes it a double negative; exaggerate means "to overstate" so you're literally saying "over overstate."
Example: I can not exaggerate the importance of this fact enough, regardless of how often people ignore it.

Still debatable.Silver wrote:It's a reboot, not a sequel or anything.
Re: Return of the Revenge of the Son of Saying Hi to Josiah!
Hi! Yeah, this is a reboot so you should be able to watch it without seeing any of the original Eva (in theory anyway, since I have yet to see the movie). I did see the original series and... Well, it's pretty good for a while (if rather strange at times). Think giant robot + romantic comedy + lots of religious references + depressing musings about life. But it completely falls apart at the end and makes no sense. Unless you watch the movies that go with the original ending (different from the new movies). They explain everything...in about the worst way possible.
