I got asked out on FB by my current BF, but we had met in person before through a friend. I've never gone out with someone I'd never met before who asked me out online...I have been asked but I turned them down, I'm not really "down" with the online dating thing...I'm not against it as I've seen it work, its just my personal preference.

Through your sacrifice, B can know that C is the right one for them, without wondering about person A for the rest of their lives! Yours is a noble cause indeed! I'm sorry that Person B always seems like a jerk to you guys though.
TV tropes WILL ruin you life. As will playing video games and watching movies and reading books. I say this because I've repeatedly gone through the whole situation in my head and have determined that I'm the that other guy that no one likes. Y'know, there's a couple that's meant to be, then the couple breaks up and the audience is all "nooo!" and then one of them gets together with some other person for a few episodes and the audience is all "noooo jerk you're supposed to be with the first person" and the audience watches the first person be all heartbroken and stuff and then finally the people break up a few episodes later and the audience rejoices as the original couple gets back together and that other guy is just kinda completely forgotten about...

Well, I mean, my ex hasn't gotten back together officially with her ex (and, when I asked her if she was planning on it, she said she wasn't sure) and I'd like to not think of myself as the bad guy, but I feel like I am. And, as of last week, her response to "are you over me?" was "it's more complicated than I'm willing to talk about." And most of the time I feel completely fine but then I get overwhelmed by a memory of us and I don't know if it's really specifically her I miss or just having someone in my life like that. No matter how hard I try (and really, I feel I am mostly over her), there's still some lingering feelings and doubt there that still kinda hopes she'll change her mind about the whole thing.

BUT REGARDLESS congrats to everyone in their good relationships, and good luck, Josiah!

On Friday, I leave for the Dartmouth/Harvard pep band trip, which is exciting and time consuming and AHH I HAVE TO GET SO MUCH DONE

Hi! Comparing real life relationships to fictional ones probably isn't the best idea. Though if everything was like School Rumble that could be pretty cool... Anyway, try not to obsess over things too much, Saber. You're not the bad guy. No one is, from what I know. On a side note, considering how painful your breakup has been, in a relationship that you knew from the start wasn't going to be long term, that strikes me as a fairly strong arguement for avoiding casual relationships.

Relationship talk aside, I've gotten kinda hooked on Once Upon a Time. I saw the first episode back when it first started and wasn't that interested but, after some friends recommended it, I started watching the first season on Netflix. I just finished it, and it's pretty cool. It uses fairy tale characters in interesting ways and strikes a nice balance between Disney and Brother's Grimm in terms of style and how dark things can get. Now I need to decide if I want to wait for season 2 on Netflix or try and catch up so I can watch the rest as it airs.

Fictional relationships could not be further from the real thing... when I watch movies or TV and I see happy couples or whatever it's an idealization. Nothing like that really happens. Of course, we're all trained to think that's what happened and we all kind of long for that to happen but really it's something that's too good to be true. It doesn't stop me from watching Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind every Valentine's Day though. My nerves, man, it's ridiculous. When I like a girl I like her way too much and it screws with me cause when she catches me by surprise and talks to me I feel like I'm suffocating and I'm off guard and I stumble over my words and I feel totally out of control. I don't know if you guys ever feel that. Anyways I have a five day weekend so I won't see her again over the week. I'm considering calling her and seeing if she'll go see a movie with me tomorrow but I always end up pulling a Holden Caulfield when I tell myself I'll do that. Bleh.

Cheating doesn't make any sense to me. I mean, I can't even grasp how someone manages to go out with one person, let alone deciding it'd be worth disloyalty and heartbreak to go and get another to screw on the side. And I can't imagine what kind of people would willingly be the person that someone cheats with. Totally mind-boggling. I honestly have no idea what I'd doing and I feel like a kid but I'm trapped in this body and I'm forced to feel all these emotions that I'm clueless as to how to handle. None of it makes sense, and when I try to replicate what other people do it feels awkward and unnatural. I just don't feel like I'm cut out for any of it and there must be something wrong with me cause I'm not capable of performing in the same fashion that everyone else seems to be able to. And that's it. She's beautiful in a way that I've never been able to express to her and it really bugs me when I hear people bad mouth her or call her ugly or that any of that ******. When guys rate girls. What the hell is that? Have some respect. When I'm walking in the mall and one of my friends points at a girl and says, "Dude, she's a solid 9", I just think, where is your sense of indignation?

Thank you PVF for being a public forum for my Valentine's Day induced angst :-)

Hi hi!

Once Upon a Time is a good series, but here in the UK season two is getting its "delayed by months after the USA airing" thing. I'm waiting for it on TV as my internet is slow but its getting frustrating and people watching it online are dropping hits and it is bugging me. Come on TV, catch up!

Also Happy Valentine's day to everyone with or without a partner.

For anyone that didn't get a card, I hope this cheers you all up!

Hi! Happy Valentine's to anyone who cares.

Welcome to growing up, Cheez. :-P You'll figure things out evenually.

For the record, I wouldn't say all fictional relationships are off the mark. Some are done very well, and even when it comes to the those sappy somewhat ridiculous ones you see in a lot of shows and movies, I'm sure that there is the occsaional real relationship that goes that way. In general though, yeah they're not a good reference.

Moi,

Merry St. Valentines Day! Hope everyone has/had a pretty good day, whether you get/got chocolates or not.

Not that much happening with me, currently. I've just been dealing with a cold for a few days now. It's a bit annoying/embarrassing when you get a sneezing fit in the middle of class. Luckily, I carry tissues around with me, so I'm usually prepared. One of the main reasons colds irritate me is that they make me feel so...for lack of a better word, "icky". I feel like I always need a shower...I also have a craving for sweets...

Anyway, I hope y'all stay healthy and cold-free.

Stay radical people! Peace off!

I hate being ill as well. I find a hot bath with some nasal balm in it helps, its soothes and clears your nose at the same time.

Hi! I decided to give my story one last editing pass which means I should be finished sometime tomorrow! Well, they might still request changes or something, but hopefully it'll all be good. It's been fun, but I'm looking forward to getting back to Aurora's Nightmare. Also, Metal Gear Rising today!

That comes out on Friday in the UK! I'm not buying it right away as I'm still playing Ni No Kuni, so I might pick it up in a few weeks.

Hi.

Ya, several new games I want to get but just not the cash to get them, though the Skyrim DL's are in rage ;-D

In other news, very very busy semester for me. It's almost crazy and next school year looks to be very similar for both semesters.

To make matters intresting, found out yesterday that I somehow mixed up two classes and taking one I don't really need to. I'm using the GI Bill and so if I drop the class now, it'll pump me down to 11 and thus not full time. I'd then have to pay back the tuition and housing payment and book allowance for that one class. But going to see if that class can still be used for my degree today. If not then in reality I'll just have to suffer past it and at least pass the class and try to take the class I really needed over the summer, using my own money for it.

Hi! I'm playing MG Rising now, then Ni no Kuni, and probably Bioshock Infinite after that. There's not much else going on here at the moment. I'll be finishing up my last round of editing on that story today after work, and am looking forward to getting some serious work done on Aurora's Nightmare in the coming days and weeks, but that's pretty much it.

Saber, this might be too personal a question but I was thinking about it as I had to sit through yet another youth group meeting at a church for a religion I've for a long time been detached from. I know you used to be (still are?) Christian, and that you came out of the closet a few months ago. Did you end up renouncing your religion because of that? Was it difficult for you to follow something that told you that what you are is wrong? I sit in church and I hear my peers make jokes about gay people and I can't stop thinking about how awful it would be to be in that position. I mean, I find it pretty awful having to put up my facade every week, and having to teacher these little kindergarten kids something I don't believe in.

Hi! As an aside to what Cheez said (just an aside, as I'd rather not get into a debate on the subject), I'll note that, while the Bible forbids male-male relationships, it never says anything about female-female. Though most people tend to not realize that.

Anyway, tomorrow is Purim (a Jewish holiday) so they're celebrating it today at synagogue (instead of having services two days in a row). Dressing up in costumes is a Purim tradition (I'm actually not sure why) so people were encouraged to wear one to services today. Unfortunately, my gi, yukata, pirate bandanna, and pretty much everything else I could use as a costume is back in Colorado. But I remembered I did get a wand in the Harry Potter ection of Universal. So I put on a t-shirt and jeans and went as a wizard in Muggle clothes. Easiest costume ever. I thought about actually going as Harry, but I don't have any glasses.

Technicalities! Still, the aura surrounding homosexual at my church feels very cold and uninviting. Sorry for bringing up religion but something I'm struggling with
