"Greetings, Maia. Welcome to this so-called meeting of legendaries. I'm Heero." He stood up a little and looked over to her.

Liz turned her direction, "Oh, hi there! Nice to meet you, Maia!" She walks over to shake her hand and smiles a little, "What's your legendary bonded to you?"

(I just realized Arian isn't being very cocky right now…I'll just pretend he's still overwhelmed with all the legendaries and stuff.)

Arian withdrew his hand, staring at the slightly shorter boy for a moment in surprise. His eyes were yellow! Aside from his mother, he'd never met anyone else with the same eye color, and even his mother's was slightly too brown in comparison. And Yuki's hair was startlingly similar to Arian's original hair in color, before he'd dyed it black to dissociate himself from his parents. He struggled to maintain his composure, but it was all he could do to prevent himself from staring. "Wow…so you came from the same region as your legendary, huh? It's nice to meet you both, Yuki Sorano and Mewtwo." Arian bowed shallowly but respectfully to the latter. "I bet it helps a lot, knowing of their existence before meeting them. I had no idea who or what Lugia was until she came to pick me up a week ago." Before he could say more, he was distracted by the enthusiastic entrance of a brilliantly colored bird and its partner, followed by the appearance of another legendary he was familiar with. He had thought Zekrom would be huge, but after Lugia, it didn't seem quite as impressive. He felt a slight twinge of disappointment.
Yes, Zekrom is here. Lugia's mental voice was heavily tinged with amusement. The Psychic/Flying legend was watching Lydia. If she could smile, she would be. The energetic one is bonded to Ho-oh, my counterpart. While you were talking, the partner of Mew also arrived. She paused. I believe Victini's partner has something to give you. Arian returned his attention to his immediate surroundings in time to accept a macaroon from Rosanna. Curious, he took a bite and was delighted to find it sweet.
"Thanks!" he called to the departing girl once his mouth was empty enough to speak. Two more arrivals, one of them Unova's Keldeo, allowed him enough time to finish consuming the treat. Lugia's voice informed him of Jirachi's name and ability as he brushed crumbs from his jacket. He noticed Celebi and Mew's partners were discussing a Pokemon battle and found himself interested despite himself. He had never battled before, but he had loved to watch the others in Castelia battle each other or with visitors. "So, uh..." He glanced at Yuki and Mewtwo again. The vaguely feline Pokemon seemed somewhat unsettled by Rosanna's message to him, though Arian couldn't understand it at all. Who was this Blaine? Upon receiving another message from Lugia, he concluded hastily, "Well, I'll see both of you some other time, perhaps. Lugia sends her greetings." Even as he spoke, he sensed her turn her head toward them and send a personal greeting to Mewtwo. The boy then made his way closer to Raine and Jessica, interested in seeing any battles that may start. He kept away from Maia, though; Lydia's excitement was one thing, but the endless energy of the very young always tired him out somehow just by being in their presence.
As he passed Ho-oh's partner, however, something about her beaming expression tugged at him. Cautiously, almost shyly, he approached the hyperactive girl. "Hi," he greeted her. "I'm Lugia's partner, Arian Clover. You grew up hearing stories about her?" An edge of eagerness that surprised him crept into his voice. "What were they like? I grew up in Unova; I don't know a thing about her." Well, not really, he added in his thoughts.
Lugia, meanwhile had made her way to Ho-oh himself. She stood next to him now, surveying the rest of the field. Well met, brother. Your partner appears quite amiable, thought I'd imagine she could be a clawful.

Lydia's excitement only grew as she saw the other legendaries pour in. Due to her studies, she could name every single one of them. Ocassionaly, she felt a mental tug from Ho-oh that reminded her to try and calm down, as it was tiring to him to have so much bouncing around in her head. She did her best--she really did--but there's only so much exciement one can hold back when one is surrounded by legendaries.

Lydia grinned at the smaller child (finally, someone who shared her excitement!) and was about to go talk to her when she was approached by the dark-haired, yellow-eyed man.

"Hi, I'm Lugia's partner, Arian Clover. You grew up hearing stories about her? What were they like? I grew up in Unova; I don't know a thing about her.

"Hi, Arian!" said Lydia cheerily, completely forgetting about her plan to go talk to Maia, "Whoaaa, you're Lugia's partner?! That's awesome! They're buddies, so that means we get to be buddies! Awesome! I'm Lydia, by the way!" Her grin got wider. "Unova, huh? I went there a bit when I was younger--I've toured the whole world, don't you know? Even after seeing everything, though, I still like my hometown the best, which is a good thing, don't you think? Anyways, more to the point, there are two towers in Ecruteak City--one dedicated to Ho-oh (my buddy!) and the other to Lugia (your buddy!). All was well until one of the towers mysteriously caught fire. That was Lugia's tower! You can imagine there was a lot of chaos, but eventually the fire was doused. However, after that, both birds left. As a kid, I always explored the Burned Tower--that's what they call Lugia's old tower. Creative, no? I tried to explore the Bell Tower (that's Ho-oh's!) but there a buncha old monks there who didn't approve." She scowled. "Easy to fool them, though! Really, no problem at all! I always felt tied to that place, so I kept sneaking in and eventually I met Ho-oh! Funny how these things work!"

Seemingly proud of her small speech, Lydia looked expectantly at Arian. "Alright, your turn!"

Not far off, Ho-oh happily greeted his old friend. She certainly has a lot of energy, remarked Ho-oh. But she's wonderfully brilliant... once she calms down, that is. She's been working very hard to strengthen our bond, the dear child. Doesn't want to let me down. It's touching, which makes me almost forgive her for all of the headahces she causes me. He paused, then asked, And how has your new partner been?
May the Triforce be with you.

Yuki and Mewtwo both turned their obviously distracted attention to Arian as the taller teen voiced departing words. As Yuki nodded in acknowledgment to the other trainer's words, Mewtwo moved his gaze to meet Lugia's and nodded just as Yuki had. Now that they were alone again, their thoughts fell back to the almost battle. It was a pity that the chance of such an entertainment had lessened, but neither was about to step in and ask for a show. Mewtwo, what do you-

The sentence was interrupted abruptly as trainer and Pokemon turned their heads to see who had just arrived. A child, somewhere around five or six, had arrived with a legendary from Unova. The girl's arrival would have originally gone mostly unnoticed, her presence offhandedly brought up for a moment before being dropped just like the trainer with Jirachi, if it wasn't for that greeting. Shouting to be more accurate. -think about pitches so high that they make it impossible for you to hear anything else?

Useless. I'll still "hear" the noises of our surroundings. I hate meetings. Mewtwo responded flatly, obviously unhappy with the young arrival, and looked away to glare vehemently at a fallen pillar. A silent agreement between the two had been made based on arrival of Maia concerning human children younger than ten, and neither was about to forget it. As he focused his attention on the pillar, the Genetic Pokemon noted that the meeting was as slow going as ever, if not slower because legendaries were more than likely still hunting for their partners. Admittedly, Mewtwo was about ready to just take a psychic hold of Yuki and Teleport away with the human. This was dreadful.

The unofficial scientist wasn't about to let that pan out without hard-to-miss reprimands. Yellow eyes were turned to peer up at Mewtwo before the trainer drummed his fingers on the back of the legendary's. Once the Pokemon's eyes reluctantly shifted to meet Yuki's, the teen pointedly announced that they would stay for the entire meeting and be one of the last to leave. This was the habit he had fallen into after accompanying Professor Oak to meetings among professors and general researching scientists and this was the habit he would stubbornly stick to. As they glared at one another, one more irritably impassioned and the other as unreadable as ever, the pair removed themselves from one another so they could partially face each other.

Then Mewtwo huffed, crossing his arms moodily, and leaned against the crumbling wall clearly defeated despite the unnoticeable smirk on his lips. It seems we're now tied today. Glancing down at his human counterpart, watching as the teen leaned onto the wall before sliding down to sit comfortably, the feline like Pokemon almost missed what Yuki had said in that quiet voice the boy possessed. Luckily his senses were as sharp as ever, quite sharp due to his enhanced psychic power, and Mewtwo actually chuckled in amusement. "Tied and bound together."

Vesper watched as Maia ran off and began talking with some of the other trainers, he looked around then down at Jirachi. She looked up at him with her glazed over eyes she always has, except when their dreaming. I must greeeet the others, she told him.
Okay Vesper replied and looked around, the closest to him was one he didn't recognize, Jirachi informed him that he was Mewtwo standing off to the side with his partner. Vesper shifted his backpack before walking over to the two. Meewtwoo, it's goood to see you again, its been so long, Jirachi said, for it had been quite awhile, with Mewtwo's reluctance to attend the meetings and Jirachis habit of sleeping through them made for rare meetings between the two. And Jirachi being friendly towards everyone in nature, not only was she always polite, but she genuinely liked and cared for everyone she happened to meet, which was perhaps why her partners were always a bit overly protective.
"Hi, I'm Vesper, from Hoenn." Vesper said introducing himself to Yuki and Mewtwo, after Jirachi had told him his name he had recalled a couple rumors about a mysterious feline-bipedal Pokemon that lived in cerulean cave while he was in cerulean city. He was sure Mewtwo was what they called him, perhaps this was him, and some of those rumors were truth.

A high pitched, loud greeting made Raine cringe, just barely resisting the urge to cover up her ears in an attempt to muffle the noise. In her mind, she could hear Celebi’s dry, amused chuckle, which she promptly ignored. Amber eyes flickered to the side, allowing Raine to catch a glimpse of the source out of the corner of her eyes.

“Oh dear Arceus,” the brunette muttered, pinching the bridge of her nose and closing her eyes. “I don’t want to know who decided to allow a kid that’s not even old enough to be a licensed Trainer up here. Seems rather dangerous."

Oh, Keldeo’s partner. Another private message from Celebi. Unlike her skeptical human, the time-traveler seemed to be regarding Maia with a thoughtful look. Well, I suppose his partner matches up pretty well with him. Keldo is rather young for a Legendary.

Shaking her head in mild exasperation mixed with amusement, the Johto Trainer turned her attention back to Mew’s partner once more.
“Sure," Raine replied offhandedly with a casual shrug. “Why not? Battles tend to be exciting for the simple reason that they’re hardly ever the same twice. Different Pokemon, different Trainers, different tactics… It’s always nice to learn something new from battles.”

The adolescent suddenly grinned again. “Well, Celebi seems insistent that I refrain from fighting right now because of the upcoming meeting, but if you’d like, I’d be more than happy to have a battle with you afterward.” A thoughtful look crossed her features as she contemplated something. “Unless, of course, you think we can minimize the damage done to this place. In that case-“

Celebi groaned loudly, her head buried in her hands that were far too small to cover up her face properly. “Like” battling is an understatement. Raine here lives for the rush of it. The guardian of the forest shook her head disapprovingly. Even with the bond and years of friendship between us, I will never understand why she likes to participate in such a barbaric sport.

Once again the pair was approached, as inevitable as it was, and so both trainer and Pokemon looked to see who decided greeting them was on the agenda for today. To Yuki's interest, it was Jirachi and the legendary's human partner who apparently was Vesper. The yellow-eyed teen remained silent a moment, simply nodding to the other that he heard the introduction, and turned to Mewtwo briefly to gently brush away the Genetic Pokemon's tail that had curled around him. Ignoring the telepathic snicker Mewtwo allowed him to hear, the research aide returned his attention to Vesper and actually looked at the person.

"Yuki. Kanto."

Is that it? Mewtwo inquired, flicking his tail into Yuki's face before wrapping it around the human's shoulders just to bug him again. The bipedal Pokemon glanced up at Jirachi, recalling that he had been greeted by the Wish Maker, and nodded in greeting to the female legendary. You're no better, not even speaking to the other legendaries. The Genetic Pokemon, hearing this, absently hovered over to Yuki's side and sat down as well to assume the position the boy was in.

All right, so the human had a point about that. Silently informing the scientist that he would tie up their points again soon, Mewtwo then lowered his psychic communication block so that Jirachi would hear him, though the girl's human would not. It has indeed, Jirachi. Dream anything of interest? There was a snicker, reminiscent of his own, from Yuki's mind and Mewtwo couldn't help but flick the tip of his tail in the boy's face again. The telepathic huff from the trainer was satisfying and Mewtwo smiled at the fact his human never liked unnecessary contact and that even he didn't like it, though bugging Yuki made the contact of his tail in Yuki's face of the utmost urgency.

You don't have to hold an actual conversation.

Of course I do. It would be more than you've done.

This isn't a competition... We're tied.

(( Seems that everyone has something to say about Maïa. I was pretty sure inserting someone under 10 would make things that much more interesting. ))

...Keldeo just couldn't keep up with the pure energy that was Maïa, even with all of his own. Eventually, he resigned himself to following her around, and meeting some of the older Legendaries.

@Heero:
"Hi, Mr. Hero! What kind of hero are you?"

@Liz:
"'Bonded'? I'm not sure what you mean, but Keldeo and I have been friends since I was almost five!"

@Yuki:
OmO from a really good distance away

Maïa's attention was caught by another girl who seemed almost as excited as her. Experience had taught Maïa that things are more fun when you're with someone as excited as you are. Running over to the girl, Maïa squealed, "Helloooo~! How are you? And hi to you too!" she added to the boy standing next to her.

--------------------------------------------------

Maïa having run off to socialize, Crimson retreated to an unoccupied area of the Spear Pillar. Shaymin followed suit. From her, he learned of each of the Pokémon that had arrived: Celebi, from Johto, was a time-traveling Grass/Psychic; Victini, Psychic/Fire, hailed from Unova, where its very presence is said to secure victory; Mewtwo was a Psychic Pokémon that lived alone in a cave in Kanto; Suicune was a Water-type from Johto with the power to instantly purify waters, not unlike Shaymin's own ability to restore flowers; Lugia, a Dragon/Psychic, also from Johto, could cause violent storms and whirlpools; Latios and Latias, both Dragon/Psychics as well, although from Hoenn instead; Ho-Oh, a Fire- and Flying-type, traveled from Johto on its immense rainbow wings; the Psychic mirage Mew, which roamed Kanto; Zekrom, an Electrical Dragon from Unova's mythology, and one of two from the same myth (would the other be attending?); Jirachi the wishmaker from Hoenn, a Psychic/Steel Pokémon; and Keldeo, a (relatively) young Water/Fighting Legendary.

Crimson and Shaymin discussed various details of what they had seen thus far while waiting for the meeting to begin.

(( and I'll be done with Crimson until the meeting. ))

(Just wanted to point out that, uh, despite its appearance, Lugia is not part Dragon. Its proper typing should be Psychic/Flying.)

Only almost? Lugia chuckled as she watched Lydia's expressions change with her narration. The sound was somewhere between a rumble and a cluck. It sounds like you will both enjoy your bond. Arian... The large dragonic bird looked bemused. I think the past week has been so drastically life-altering for him that his personality temporarily changed. At least, that's what I have gathered from my brief conversations with his Pokemon. He has never been in a Pokemon battle before, nor is he truly a trainer. He lived his whole life in the largest city in Unova. Flame, his Litwick, informed me that he's quite intelligent, but mysteriously decided to leave academics behind. Lugia made a shrugging motion with her wings. I believe he didn't along with his parents. After a brief pause, she added, He had also never conversed with a Psychic-type before I found him. He's still having trouble keeping his end of the link closed; I can hear his thoughts most of the time, although he's improving.

Arian listened attentively to the story Lydia was telling him. He had never been that huge a fan of mythology, even in his home region, but having seen and met some of the subjects of those myths suddenly made them incredibly appealing. "The towers were dedicated to our partners, huh?" he mused when Lydia had finished explaining about them. 'You say that both of them left after Lugia's tower burned down. Does that mean the townspeople actually got to see them sometimes? Otherwise how did they know they left?" He wondered how that would have felt, living in a town frequently visited by two of the legends of the region. It must have been saddening when they left.

Lydia's ending statement startled him a little. "Er...my turn?" he asked blankly. The girl spoke rather fast, and the sense of Lugia talking about him at the back of his mind wasn't helping his concentration. After a few seconds, he hazarded a wild guess. "You mean how I met Lugia?" The boy scratched his neck and laughed sheepishly. "She kind of swam all the way to Unova, which took her a month. Her arrival nearly drowned me; she kicked up a storm on accident and drenched me with both rain and ocean. Once she got out of the water, though, she calmed everything down, so no harm done." He smiled more easily. "Since then I've been riding her as she flew here, which only took a week compared to her month of swimming. It's incredible, flying. I think you know what I mean, since I saw you riding Ho-oh when you came."

Recalling a small detail he had left out, he added, "Oh yes, Lugia told me when we first met that she'd known I existed for a long time, even though I didn't know of her. I did have these weird dreams, though, always of swimming or flying. I realized last week that my dreams were of being Lugia, and they probably showed me what she was doing at the time." He tugged at his jacket collar; it wasn't quite so cold anymore, but he didn't want to take it off just yet; the air was still decidedly nippy. "The dreams used to make me feel really lonely, because Lugia never talked to or even met anyone. I don't have them anymore, though." He tilted his head to one side, wondering how to continue the conversation. I wouldn't mind being buddies with this Lydia, he decided.

Before he could think of a question to ask, however, he was completely distracted by the same person he had been trying to avoid. Suppressing a groan and the urge to inch away from the child, he forced himself to face Keldeo's partner. "Er, hello. Maia, was it?" He wondered if he should bother introducing himself; kids that young probably mixed up names easily. Eventually he decided to be polite anyway. "My name is Arian. I'm Lugia's partner." Just to be clear, he pointed in Lugia's direction.

"Pokémon like to battle." Jessica pointed out to Celebi. She felt a little strange talking to a pokémon that could say something other than its name, but compared to everything else that had happened over the last thirty minutes or so, it was one one the least shocking ones. "At least most of them do." With the rest of her pokémon in their balls, she looked to mew for support but the little pick creature was off, happily flitting around the other legendaries. "Looks like I've got the least serious partner here, doesn't it?"

Kai had stood back and watched all of the other trainers around her. She couldn't help but wonder how many more would arrive. There were a good number of legendaries, but she knew that not all had a human partner. She supposed to she was lucky to have Suicune.

Suicune stood silently beside its human partner, only greeting the other legendaries that approached. It had been years since Suicune had attended a meeting, and thus was unsure how to greet the others. Kai had become silent as more and more humans arrived, she was beginning to feel out of her depth. When the suggestion for a pokemon battle was thrown out, she had retreated further. Kai had always considered herself to be an average trainer, and she had a feeling that some of the others were much stronger than she was.

The arrival of a child had shocked her. She had never expected a legendary to bond to someone who wasn't even old enough to be a trainer yet, but she decided it best not to question it. After all, Suicune had chosen for a reason, and her skill as a trainer probably had nothing to do with it.

"It's getting a bit crowded here, don't you think?" Kai asked Suicune. Suicune glanced at her.

"I suspect that there are more who had not yet arrived. Hopefully, there will be a shorter wait for the meeting to begin." Suicune replied.

"I hope so," Kai said.

Heero, after watching all the other trainers talk, suddenly got bored and walked over to Yuki. "You're Mewtwo's partner, aren't you?" He asked him seriously, looking up at him slightly and added, "I would like to have a battle with you." He said in his monotoned voice. Heero really wanted to challenge this trainer, seeing how his personality seemed to almost fit Mewtwo's, a powerful genetic Pokemon.

Latios then glanced over to Heero in surprise. He thought that Heero and Yuki had very similar personalities, and wondered why Heero had wanted to challenge him. He was a bit frightened of Mewtwo. He had hoped he wouldn't have to challenge such a powerful Pokemon, as it was perhaps one of the strongest ones there. Latios remembered never getting along with Mewtwo, either, in the past up to date.

Liz had already finished chatting with the other trainers by now and checking out their Pokemon. However, she looked in one direction with Enchantress and noticed a Suicune standing next to a black-haired girl. As she laid her eyes on Suicune, she felt thrilled inside. She had always wanted to see this Pokemon, and now she had found it where she least expected, on top of an extremely high mountaintop. She slowly walked over to it, with Latias and Enchantress following her. "H-hello! You must be Suicune's partner, right?"

(Was getting annoyed that I wasn't talking or interacting with anybody, so I decided to start it myself. :-P )

Mewtwo was smirking when it was suddenly wiped away and he turned his attention to watch the human that decided to approach them. Now why in Arceus' name was the pair of them so popular today? Annoyed, he telepathically informed Yuki that another male human was coming before turning his attention to Latios just as the Dragon glanced over. Latios' human was challenging his own? This human dares challenge you? The Genetic Pokemon questioned Yuki, the irritation in his voice evident, and lifted to his feet smoothly.

Who? What? Yuki inquired in his mind, having not been paying attention to the others as he noticed a pattern on the wall he was sitting against. It looked like a story from the ancient time that Arceus might have been from, and that was apparently more interesting than the two boys before him- the name of Jirachi's human having slipped from his mind without much struggle. Yellow eyes reluctantly moved to peer up at Heero, slowly registering what the trainer before him had said, before indifferent eyes blinked in response.

Head tilting ever so slightly to the right, Yuki's expression not changing in the slightest, the teen flatly replied, "I am. That's nice." That said, he looked back to Vesper, toying with the idea that the sandy-haired boy's name might be Vester, before losing interest once again and turning to Mewtwo's mind. You're popular, Mewtwo. I never knew you were so social. There was a scoff of indignant protest from the feline-like Pokemon at his words and the young scientist, satisfied with the response, glanced up at his legendary counterpart just as the Pokemon peered down to him.

Funny. Very funny. The brat is serious, genius.

Yuki blinked in unexpressed surprise. Seriously? Someone was challenging him to a battle? As if to confirm Mewtwo's words, the trainer returned his gaze to Heero, feigning a look of surprise that subtly read, 'Still here?' and waiting to see what the latter actually wanted. If this announced desire was just the other's way of starting up a conversation, it would end up being rather one-sided. It wasn't like anyone here knew what it took to get him to say more than two word sentences. Not even Mewtwo's earlier challenge of conversation starting would get the boy to say more than necessary.

"I think they're all pretty cool! Though some people need a little fresh air and chill out a little." Liz coughed whiled looking back at Yuki and Heero staring at each other. She looked back at Kai and smiled a bit. "So how did you meet Suicune? I'm really curious because I always wanted to see this Pokemon."

Meanwhile, Heero stood in front of Yuki. He thought Yuki was just zoning out and looked speechless. This kid seemed to be a lot like him in a way, and the only other trainer in this area to look like a decent challenge. "You must be joking, Heero! You cannot challenge Mewtwo. He's by far the strongest amongst all the legendaries here. Besides, how much experience have you had training me?" Latios said to Heero via telepathy. Heero kept the same expression on his face and turned his eyes over to Mewtwo, but didn't say a single word. This trainer was probably a mere coward, he thought, and that's why he wouldn't reply. "Heero, are you listening to me?"

"Will you relax, Latios? I'm only challenging him to one battle. You're forgetting everyone else here is just another typical trainer. I don't see anything threatening about this guy other than the Pokemon he's with. If he hadn't had Mewtwo by his side, he would be a fool like every other trainer who thinks they're strong because of the Pokemon they have." Heero replied to Latios via telepathy back. He couldn't blink, he stared silently at both Yuki and Mewtwo.
