Re: Return of the Revenge of the Son of Saying Hi to Josiah!
Hey.
So, PurplePrincess and another friend of mine were in Into the Woods over the weekend, so I went to see that. Our high school did it a few years ago, when I was in... 7th or 8th grade, ish. I remember liking it, but not too much. I have two songs from the soundtrack, and I like them well enough. So, went to see it... and then after I was like "dude... I totally forgot about a bunch of these awesome songs!" So I went and snagged No One Is Alone, which is my current favorite song, along with I Know Things Now, Children Will Listen, Your Fault/Last Midnight and Agony. And now, as is traditional when I start obsessing over a musical, I'm gonna track down the sheet music for the stuff....
Anywho, snow day today. Should have been a delay, the snow has already stopped. Finals ended yesterday (finally, snow days made them drag on way longer than was planned), but I only know the result of my AP Stats final (95, SCORE)... kind of nervous for the rest of them, and the snow days are dragging it out, keeping me in the dark... whee.
Also, a friend of mine has been depressed lately, and this time I'm the first one he goes to... usually there was another friend in between me and him, which is now exactly the problem because he used to have a few people he could go to, and now he only trusts me (he told me such). Dealing with him has been a struggle, but I'm trying to do my best...

Hi! A Gaijin card is basically an ID card for non-natives living in Japan so it's a pretty useful thing to have, especially if you don't want to carry your passport around all the time. I don't have the work visa yet anyway. My company is saying I need the card first. Though, last time I was in Japan, I needed the visa to get the card so yeah...
Re: Return of the Revenge of the Son of Saying Hi to Josiah!
So basically, you shouldn't technically need it if you have a passport, but it is insisted upon...cripes. There isn't anything like that over here...well, actually, they keep trying to introduce I.D card for EVERYBODY....some security, anti terrorism thing...bloody paranoid...I think the UK has more CC TV cameras than any other country too....speed camera's, traffic cameras....god, there is even CC TV in the bathrooms!

Re: Return of the Revenge of the Son of Saying Hi to Josiah!
Hi! If I had the passport with the proper visa, I guess I probably wouldn't technically need the gaijin card. But it's a lot easier to carry around and it's much easier to show someone a card then have them read all the visa details out of your passport.
Re: Return of the Revenge of the Son of Saying Hi to Josiah!
I guess your right, it just sounds like excess bureaucracy to me though

Moi,
I was just watching 2001: A Space Odyssey. I stoped it during the intermossion. Makes me wonder why a movie would need a intermission. It's only...a little over 2 hours long...hmmm...well, that might be a bit long.
I was creeped out at the music...opera...stuff playing whenever the monolith came into veiw. Well, at first, I couldn't stop laughing at it, but when it was in that hole on the moon, it just sounded really creepy. e_o Actually, when it started, (after a very long introduction-thing) when I first saw the "early humans" I said to my dad, "Hey, look! Men in ape suits!" And, there was one main thing that annoyed me. The setting in the begining. It makes me the audiance think that early humans spent most of their time in the desert, where there's very little water and food. *sigh* Oh well, I'm just ranting. Besides that, there is one character I really like. The HAL-9000. I've been perfecting my impersonation of him...it...uhhh...you know what I mean.
Anyway, I got to get to sleep, and finish up the movie...uhh...when-ever I wake up tomorrow.

Hi! Know what's cheap in Japan (at least in the winter)? Chestnuts. Which is cool cause I hardly ever get them back home.

Moi,
Chestnuts? Meh...I never got into their taste. Hazelnuts on the other hand, I can't get enough of! (My only problem is getting them open without making a mess...)
Ah, a good first day of the 2nd semester. In CAD we did....well...we sat in front of a computer and worked on our digital notebooks. Goodness, once summer break comes around, I'm going to have terrible eye strain from just staring at a computer screen for 45 minutes continuously every day.

Cha!
I now have to ware glasses when using a computer. I work in an I.T Department and stare at a computer for 8 and a half hours a day, 5 days a week. The company has provided me with these glasses due to the strain. Seriously, my eyes used to water and sting until I got these glasses. it tends to be worse for people who are slightly long sighted. I can see for miles and miles but things close up I have to try harder to focus. I've never really noticed a problem before as the issue is so mild, but it was really effecting working on the computer, They do lenses just for computer use. If your eyes are stinging I'd suggest going to the eye doctor if you are going to be doing this a lot more. You might be slightly long sighed if your eyes sting just after 45 mins...keep a close check on how your eyes are doing during class. Seriously, if you don't do anything about it right away it gets gradually worse. For a long time I thought our office lights were making my eyes water, but it turned out my eyes had started to react badly to constant strain.I'm going to have terrible eye strain from just staring at a computer screen for 45 minutes continuously every day.

Hey.
School keeps me busy. And tired. And I have a reasearch paper. Wheee.
Oh, and, PurplePrincess was telling me how the guy who played Cinderella's Prince in Into the Woods (basically no one in that show actually has a name... they're all The Baker or The Witch or Rapunzel's Prince or The Baker's Wife or Jack's Mother...) is really into LARPing and his license played is "IAMDM". It kind of made my life.

Hi! Yeah, if you can't look at a computer screen for 45 minutes you should probably get your eyes checked. There are days when I'm on for 8 hours or more (for work, mostly) and I do ok. Only time my eyes bother me is if I spend hours on end spriting since a lot of said sprites are pretty tiny. Anyway, I've got Japanese resumes to fill out by hand. Yeah, by hand. At times Japan is way too old fashioned.

Yeah, a lot of forums you have to fill in over here are still hand written. Not seen an electronic form from my bank, pensions or government EVER

Re: Return of the Revenge of the Son of Saying Hi to Josiah!
Hi! At least you don't get too many of those though. Anyway, I mentioned in my PV update that I wasn't feeling so great today. Well later in the day when I went to the immigration office I started feeling a whole lot better...except that I developed nasty pressure headache which more than made up for everything else. I still managed to get to the office, turn in my papers, and get back to my apartment where I promptly zoned out for an hour. I think I probably got a little sick after all. At this point though, the headache has considerably subsided, which is great, though I think my throat is a bit worse. I also have no apetite (which isn't so bad except I get the feeling that, if I don't eat, I'll be starving come morning.
I might just go to bed early, except I'm waiting for a package. See, I got tired of looking everywhere for Tsukihime (it's really rare) so I finall gave up and ordered off a Japanese web site. I got a pretty good price, but I think it's still the most expensive game I've ever gotten... Anyway, no matter how many times I tried, the site wouldn't take my credit card and my company insisted the problem wasn't on their end. But there was an option to pay via COD (apparently that's still fairly common in Japan). Conveniently enough, I was able to choose the time frame when the delivery guys is supposed to come so I chose 6 - 9, since that was the only time frame I could be sure I'd be home from work. So yeah, gotta stay up at least until it arrives.
