Japan Store

Post by Josiah »

If anyone has something they want that's only available in Japan (tea, games, figurines, music, whatever), and is willing to pay for it (ideally via Paypal), I'd be happy to keep an eye out, get it, and send it to you. If so, post what you want and how much you're willing to pay (including shipping costs), and I'll see what I can do.

Oh geez, really tempting. That'll save a whole lot on shipping fees (assuming you aren't shipping it from Japan).

EDIT: Okay, how much did it cost to buy Umineko 8?

As far as shipping goes, I'd have to ship from Japan unless you'd want to wait until mid-April (maybe later, if my schedule changes). For something like Umineko though, which isn't all that big or heavy, I could send it via economy airmail to the US for something around $6 (takes around 2 weeks), regular airmail for around $10 (1 week), or express for around $17 (4 days). Here's the site for Japanese postal rates, if you want to take a look yourself.

I believe Umineko 8 is generally selling for around 3200 yen so a little under $40 at the current exchange rate.

Man, keep an eye out for those How to Draw manga books. One about animal anatomy or fantasy monsters would help me with ROM, even with just the pictures for reference.

I can look if you want (I assume they'd be pretty easy to fine), but you might want to check whatever the big UK online bookstore is first since quite a lot of those books got released in English.

I managed to find the "How to Draw manga" range in a book store here and got a "Ghouls and Goblins" kind of things, but they didn't have any other ranges of books...I dunno, maybe I can find a drawing book for general animal anatomy. Unless you see a super fantastic one on offer it might not be worth it...thanks anyway.

Might want to check amazon.co.uk as well, since they've got quite a lot of manga drawing books. I don't recall seeing any Haibane Renmei stuff, but I wouldn't be surprised if I run into some figurines or something sooner or later.

Thanks Josiah. How much do you think shipping would be to the UK? it might be worth waiting till u get back to the US if it is expensive.

Totally depends on the size and weight of stuff, but for things that aren't particularily big or heavy, probably somewhere in the range of 3 - 7 pounds if you don't mind waiting a couple weeks.
