Hey!
There is an exclamation point after my usual "Hey" instead of the period. This exists in order to demonstrate my excitement that the forums exist again. HUZZAH!
So, since I've last been here, it's been FREAKIN' CHRISTMAS WHUT WHUT! Saw my relatives and all that fun stuff.... there's one still kinda chillin' at my house and he's playing my Wii and I'm feeling kind of like I should run over to my Wii and growl and be like "MYYYY WIIIIIII" but I feel like he'd think I was weird.
Anywho, probably gained about a zillion pounds (my fingers typed points instead of pounds... not sure why). I also now own a hat that resembles a polar bear. And custom converse that say "Defy Gravity" on the side. And a Finder's Keeper's T-shirt. And an xkcd t-shirt. Nothing really big this year, but I wasn't really expecting anything really big.

Hi! While the forums were down I was pretty just getting ready for Japan (I'm leaving in a week!). As part of the preperations, I got a new phone. I was originally planning to just rent one like before but I had an upgrade coming up anyway and, long story short, I ended up getting a Droid 2 Global. It works pretty much anywhere in the world so long as there's cell service. International roaming rates suck though which leads me to the other reason I got the phone. I can unlock it (already got the code) and swap in a Japanese sim card while I'm there. Japanese cellphone rates are actually really bad as well (maybe they become reasonable if you get a long term contract or something) but it's free to receive calls and texts. It just costs a mint if you want to call or text someone. So as long as I don't need to call people very often and keep data turned off I should be good.
But anyway, this is my first smart phone so it's going to take some getting used to. I did find some aps that'll be handy on the trip though. I've got one that mimics the Japanese train route search and another that let me download the Google maps images for the whole Tokyo and Chiba area so I can access it without using data. I can use GPS with it too, which should be pretty handy. If anyone else has an android phone feel free to recommend any cool aps you know of.

Moi Moi!
Man, I'm so glad to have the forums back!
Well, I sure had a good Christmas. Let's see, I got $105 in iTunes gift cards, $100 in GameStop gift cards, and $165 in money! (Cash! hee hee hee....) I also got a new-not-cheap pair of ear-buds, and other various things. (Chocolate and candy~)
Yesterday, I also got to go over to my grandma's house to see my little cousins. There, I got a book called "Masters of Deception" (a book with a bunch of optical illusion artists in it), a DS game, and a really cool (odd/weird/awsome) watch. (plus the cool box it came in)
And...that's about it. *sucks on candy cane*

*casually walks in* So it seems we have been gone for awhile...?
Anywho, I have a song to share with you. *clears throat*
"I'm dreaming of a white Boxing Day.
Just when the snow is hours late."
*bricked*
And that's the status here. It's actually a blizzard or something. In December?! Heck, I'm scared of this year.
Christmas? It was ok. I got a laptop. But I'm not using it at the moment because I'm working on something with this computer. I just came here to check if all is well.
I also got Mana Khemia from Colly. All I need is a PS2 to play it with. :V Hmm.... I got various sweets, a mouse for my laptop.... and strange clothes. Oh, and boots. Just in time for this winter hazard.

Hi! I'm mostly done getting ready for Japan, except for packing which I'm saving for later this week. I've got some other things to do though. I'm trying to finish a rather large book I'm reading and Epic Mickey before I leave. I'm also expecting to get a copy of the copy-edited version of my textbook soon, which I need to go over to make sure the copy-editor didn't mess anything up. Finally, my parents and I are trying to finish the last season of 24 before I leave, since we've been watching that together all year. So I'm still busy, but nothing too crazy at the moment.

Hi!
Have fun, Josiah. Anyway, I'm packing for a trip to D.C pretty soon. I don't plan on spending the New Year there, but it's pretty fun to get outta this house for once during the holidays. Plus, I have friends there, and my family from Europe is visiting at the same time, so it won't hurt to see them again. I'm looking forward to a very very very very cold vacation, lol. Cya.

Hi! I'm going to make big posts in both ROM and The Super Leagues when I have time (hopefully Friday night or Saturday). In the meantime, I got that edited version of my book so I need to spend the day going over it.

Re: Return of the Revenge of the Son of Saying Hi to Josiah!
Heso! Yay for snow! Not yay for snow when there aren't any classes to be canceled anyway. And yay for being snowed in with Colly! But not yay for being snowed in while visiting family out of state and thus having to miss work. Yay for having to miss work! But not yay for paychecks being late because of snow.
Snow is both yay and not yay. And if it isn't positive or negative, it must be zero, right? Zero Celsius, anyway. Because Fahrenheits are dumb.

"Irregardless" and "Over exaggerated" are NEVER CORRECT EVER because they are redundant
Regardless means "without regard", and adding "ir" on the front actually makes it a double negative; exaggerate means "to overstate" so you're literally saying "over overstate."
Example: I can not exaggerate the importance of this fact enough, regardless of how often people ignore it.

If only that's how I felt about Snow, Silver, and I'm not sure whether you're being optimistic about the snow, I can only pick out negatives at this point. ^^; .... I've heard some good prank ideas.

Hi! I usually like snow, at least as long as there's enough of it to do something with. But we haven't gotten a whole lot this year and I rather hope it stays that way through Sunday cause I have two really tight connections on my trip to Japan so there's no telling what will happen if a flight gets delayed. But for now, less worrying and more book edit reviewing...
Oh, and congrats, Kaida!

Hi! Only two days till my birthday and three till I go to Japan. Looks like I need to start packing... Also, it's snowing, a lot. Fortunately, the weather report said it'll stop by Saturday so my flights shouldn't be affected.

Re: Return of the Revenge of the Son of Saying Hi to Josiah!
Hey.
So I wrote a fairly long post about what I've been up to, and then my comp freaked out, so I shall summaraize in bullet point format only minus the bullets:
- I stayed up 'til 5:30 AM, new record, great way to start of new year. Did this at PurplePrincess' house along with another friend.
- We watched two Hindi movies: Munna Bhai MBBS and Om Shanti Om (I also was at her house on Thurs to sled and we watched 3 Idiots). The first was really funny, the second was extremly good (it's far more famous than Munna Bhai MBBS, so it was expected). I'm kind of in love with Om Shanti Om and I really wish I understood Hindi.
- Om Shanti Om had interesting subtitles. The grammar was so off, my Grammar-Nazi-ness wasn't sure to laugh or cry... laugh won out.
- I had learned the theme to Om Shanti Om a couple weeks ago because it came up on shuffle and it's about one minute long and so pretty.
- Now I am obsessed with the song Dastaan-e-Om Shanti Om (roughly translated, the story of Om Shanti Om, Om Shanti Om being a movie within the movie) because it's freaking incredible (and I like the tune).
- Om Shanti Om is really good. See it. It's way different from any movie I've seen before. I wasn't able to simply predict the plot the whole way through, which was really nice.
- In Om Shanti Om, they poke fun at Bollywood. I understood one of the references because I saw the movie it was referencing (the Dhoom trilogy). It excited me.
- I want to sing along, but I only know the tune and the general sounds, not really words >.<
- Went to my MIT friend's birthday party today. Super fun!
