I remember going the whole way through that (Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Royal Canadian Army Cadets), it was fun until Cadets, then it almost seemed like having a job. Show up, keep your uniform perfect, have someone yell at you for a few hours, march, go home.

So I haven't been on much at all this last weekend due to Thanksgiving and my timesink family (even though I did have a lot of fun with them, they're relentless on taking free time), and now I won't be on for another week at least - I'm getting a new computer and my mom and I have a deal where when I get a new comp, she'll buy my laptop from me since hers is a piece of junk that's barely still working. So no computer for about a week until my new one gets mailed in! Can't wait for it ;-D

Konnichiwa. I picked a random time to suddenly get into Fairy Tail again (I was pretty nuts over it for a few weeks last year, then it fell back into the "meh" status). I decided sometime last week to give the anime another try, since I'd been somewhat unimpressed/slightly disappointed by the first episode. I'm glad I did. The voice acting and the BGM were both totally awesome. And while the repeated use of certain animations was a bit annoying in the first dozen episodes or so, they gradually cut those down/out, so the anime feels a lot more like the manga now. <3
I am feeling a little frustrated, though; there's four character songs for this anime, but I can only find lyrics to one of them. The two I'm most interested in learning to sing...their lyrics don't seem to be anywhere on the Internet, not even scans of the Japanese lyrics. >:|

Hey.

So... Whenever I see a musical, I can't help but get a bit upset becuase performing is what I love to do, but I kinda stopped following that after middle school ended due to me getting busier/the school play was during softball season, and I've never been in a musical/don't take voice lessons/marching band in the fall. Anywho... the town's community theater (which puts out really good productions, PurplePrincess was in one over the summer) is doing Into The Woods this winter, and I've decided I'm not gonna play hockey because it was just too much work with too little playing time... so I'm thinking about auditioning. Thing is... I've never auditioned for a musical, so I hardly know what I'm doing. Plus, it will be with mostly adults, so having this as my first musical is... kind of nervewracking. But I really, really wanna be in a musical because I love musicals way too much for a kid who's never been in one. It's kind of sad, actually.

If only the high school had a winter musical... I'd be able to do that since band is in the fall and softball is in the spring... sigh...

Hey!

My favorite musical without a doubt would be the Sound of Music. The classiest musical of all classics.

Nothing much to do today, just a lot of AP work. Extra credit will hopefully bring up my C to a B. Peace out!

Heso! Ugh, The Sound of Music bores me. It's one of my least favorite... second only to Mame, which is just about the most terrible musical I've ever watched. Long, pointless, and not a single character you could sympathize with - they were all morons! At least the Sound of Music did have a good cast, at least. It's just so slow... The world needs more Wicked, Once Upon a Mattress, and Avenue Q.
"Irregardless" and "Over exaggerated" are NEVER CORRECT EVER because they are redundant
Regardless means "without regard", and adding "ir" on the front actually makes it a double negative; exaggerate means "to overstate" so you're literally saying "over overstate."
Example: I can not exaggerate the importance of this fact enough, regardless of how often people ignore it.

Wow... that's... I mean it's a good musical, but that's like a smack in the gut 'cos there are SO many better musicals out there... nothing wrong with Sound of Music, there's just so much better than that...

Wheee I'm doing some AP US homework right now SO MUCH FUN. Currently my lowest grade at a B.

Hmm, Mame? Never heard of it... which is kind of impressive considering how many musicals I DO know :P I like Sound of Music... but... yeah, it's kind of dull. High school did it last year. Pit orchestra. Fun stuff. I saw it 8 times total, including full dress rehearsals. Including that rehearsal when our Georg (Captain Von Trapp) was sick with Swine. Hell week is fun stuff. Love Avenue Q, have been meaning to listen to Once Upon a Matress forever, and Wicked is FANTASTIC! Though my favorite is still Les Mis.

Silver, if you like comedy musicals, try The Drowsy Chaperone. It's kind of a winner. In super much terms. I'd be listening to it now if I weren't taking AP US notes... the only homework I don't do while listening to music...

Moi,

Musicals huh?....I guess I like the sound of music...but...after watching it...what, maybe, 7 times in german class...It starts to get a little bit old. Just a bit. My all time favorite musical would be the first I ever saw, (heck, it was the first movie I ever saw) and that would be, Mary Poppins! Even today, I find myself humming "Lets go fly a kite" when I just feel randomly happy!

Hi! You know, I really haven't seen very many musicals (unless you count Disney movies). Sound of Music (a very long time ago), West Side Story, Le Mis (well, an abbreviated local school version of it), Fiddler on the Roof... Um... Dr. Horrible's? I should probably watch more sometime. Then there was that one musical RPG Rhapsody, shame the level design sucked so much. Actually, I have some vague plans for a musical RPG of my own, though there's no telling when/if I'll be able to make it.

Heso!

Not counting disney movies I haven't seen many musicals either, which is strange considering I love musicals. As for favorites though, Cats, always has been and always will be. Mr. Mistoffelees all the way. I also like the Sound of Music alot, Probably because I grew up on it (I grew up on cats too), but it is pretty long. I still find it funny when my dad starts singing "The hills are alive with the sound of music" not that he sings the whole song, he usually sings the one line. Yup my dads the reason I've known Waltzing Matilda off by heart since I was 7 I think.

Taipan, Tigersnake and a Box jellyfish
Stonefish and the poison thing that lives in a shell
That spikes you when you pick it up

Hey.

Mary Poppins... grew up on that movie, great movie :D I actually only know one song from Cats... been meaning to fix that... it's Andrew Lloyd Webber! Ahh! I should know it alll!

I LOVE musicals. Probably because my life is basically one, what with the smallest word causing me to break out into song. I haven't seen nearly as many musicals as I listen to, but, because I don't wanna do homework, here's a bunch off the top of my head, in a kind of general trend from favorite to less favorite but not really, it's just kind of that my favorites come off the top of my head quicker, after that it's just kind of whatever...

Les Miserables, Miss Saigon, Rent, Wicked, The Phantom of the Opera, The Drowsy Chaperone, Jesus Christ Superstar, Godspell, A Chorus Line, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Spring Awakening, Titanic: The Musical, Into the Woods, Little Shop of Horrors, Hairspray, Hair, Man of La Mancha, The Sound of Music, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Tick Tick BOOM, Dr. Horrible and Commentary! The Musical!

All off the top of my head... I actually could go on for way longer, but, I'll spare you :P

...cough Jersey Boys, My Fair Lady, Guys and Dolls okay I'll stop for real...

Hey!

Holy crap, I love West Side Story and Mary Poppins. I already watched the New York broadway shows of both and they kicked so much ass. Great actors, great music, and awesome story. Just about every Disney movie before the 2000's (plus The Princess and the Frog) were all amazing musicals.

PSATs tomorrow, will not enjoy it... Peace out!

Konbanwa.

GAAHHHH. D< Today my parents took me to look at an art school I'm interested in applying to. It was cool, although admissions looks a bit intimidating. But then our car sorta half-died on us and we had to take it to a Toyota dealer for them to fix it. They said they couldn't fix it today, so we had to go rent a car to drive home. There was some mess regarding the car rental and gas, but eventually we make it home.
Then I realize I had an ortho appointment about 5 hours ago that I'd completely forgotten about.
