5th Genereation confirmed?

I've been following the anime now. Yeah, I raged that the guy even had a Darkrai/Latios Ash has Pikachu, the bird (Mamepato) and the water starter so far. The ground/dark crocodile may join him.

Tips for the game itself: Be on a constant lookout for rival battles. They happen more frequently than they did back then, considering now you have three rivals.

You pick the water starter, you get the fire monkey. You pick the fire starter, you get the grass monkey. You pick the grass starter, you get the water monkey. It's to counter whatever type your starter's weak to... you know, so Cheren doesn't wipe the floor with you every time. Also makes the first gym much easier... since you fight the gym leader that uses whatever type your starter's weak against.

Battle system seems more or less the same. Can't comment so much on new attacks and abilities since I haven't encountered them yet. Also don't know about triple battles. Battles certainly look prettier, though.

That was.... fast and impressive Silver...

I have a feeling that the anime will either really have to step it up with this next coming generation or it'll be dropped.

Not sure how the anime is doing in the US, but I think it's still fairly popular in Japan so I doubt it'll end anytime soon. I stopped watching sometime in the middle of the R/S arc, but only because it changed channels or times or something and I couldn't watch it anymore for quite a while. I'll probably get the DVDs at some point...

More like it was good until Johto when every episode was the same.

Back on topic: Iris is a pretty amusing character in the anime. She's always picking on Ash's stupid moments and seems slightly tsundere.

And since she's also a gym leader, that means she like Misty was originally.

I like Iris already, Misty was always my fav.

If they do dub the 5th gen series it'll be what, a year and a half, two year? before we get it here in Aussie. We still haven't gotten the second half of Daimond and Pearl Series, unless they've shown it on foxtel or something. And It's gonna be awhile before they get up to releasing it on dvd. (They've only just started releasing One Piece uncut colloctions, one a month. And since I've already bought some on ebay since I got sick of waiting it'll be what, January next year before they catch up to me. And they wonder why theres so many people importing things like movies from overseas.)

Well, now I got the weird idea of a tomato based pokemon...weird.

Anyway, so far the weirdest pokemon this gen is Shipora, the Ice Cream Pokemon, and the freaking robo-bug.

Weren't they already trying to replace Misty when she left and put May in as the female protagonist instead? (Even though she wasn't a Gym leader, everybody forgot about Misty)

And on a side note: Why is Ash so short...? How much time has past since he left Kanto? I'm sure he's not 10 anymore. ._.

Misty was alright, I found her to be awesome but then again too nostalgic. My personal favorite was Dawn, seeing that I thought she made the best of Ash's "girlfriends." Anybody know about Brock in the 5th gen anime?

Brock leaves to become a Pokedoctor, and is replaced by Dento, the trainer of the dang brocolli monkey

Dento hasn't joined out, but he seems pretty entertaining. The elegant butler gentleman.

On the note of Ash's height, it is weird to see that he's exactly the same height as Iris.

Ok, so first they try to 'clone' Misty and now they're getting rid of BROCK?! Oh come on! He's been with Ash in every season to date! Gah! This is why I don't watch the show anymore =.=...

I couldn't agree with this less. For what it's worth, I didn't hate Dawn. She was ok. She was ok because she was the least "girlfriend" like. She seemed like she stuck with Ash to learn about Pokemon, not just to flirt or be whiny and annoying...

Misty was top tier. She almost felt like a rival at times, ever since that unresolved battle early on. She also knew what she was doing, so she kind of helped Ash along. Ash then did the same for Dawn, which I thought was good to show that Ash had actually grown a bit. And also she's the only one I could ever possibly pair Ash with. Dawn just didn't seem love interest-like. Misty was a bro. She was not pathetic, nor was she slutty, or ignorant, or...

MAY.

You might be getting the impression from this that I dislike May. Well, that would be incorrect. Rather, that would be an understatement. May was the sole reason I stopped following the Pokemon anime. I despised May. I thought that anime was good until she joined in. I didn't stop watching because of a time change or a channel switch... I stopped following it because I hated May and everything about her.

Max was all right though. He was a much better "girlfriend" character. Looking forward to Iris because it doesn't seem like she'll be forced as a "girlfriend" and she's also not an idiot.

Anyways, Brock's gone, far as I know. He was around as a game promotion, apparently. He stuck around through 3rd and 4th for FR/LG and HG/SS.
