Vegier, who had been standing near Eskay, caught sight of the shark heading straight for the elf. He gave a curse. Are all the creatures of this world this intelligent? With Sira's hint in mind, he held his brandistock and twirled it around so that the blunt end was in front of him and the blades were just over his shoulder. At the same time, he leaped forward, jabbing the weapon right at the shark, aiming at its midsection. The length of his brandistock gave him an advantage; the blow caught the shark before it could reach him and made it stagger backward awkwardly. Without waiting for the shark to recover, he twirled his weapon again, using the momentum of the spear to slam the shaft down as hard as he could on the shark's nose.
This isn't so bad, he realized as the shark seemed to wobble a little. Not unlike fighting the demons back home. Unfortunately for the Arc, the daze wore off fairly quickly. The shark suddenly lunged toward him, its gaping jaws revealing rows of sharp teeth. After a split second of panic, Vegier gripped his brandistock in both hands once more, with each hand on one end of the long weapon. The shark clamped down onto the shaft as Vegier thrust the weapon forward in an attempt to defend himself. The close proximity made the Arc freeze for a brief moment, but he soon recovered.
"How are we supposed to stop them without killing them?" he yelled out loud, voice laced with panic as he kicked the shark away from him. Curse my lack of wings!

"Aww come on!" Nyandimar examined the web stuck to his coat, which he was glad didn't slip off when he was yanked from his precarious perch. "This is my favorite coat!" He pulled his Sabers out from in-pockets on either side, and aimed at one of the sharks. "Th'Guy! Guide my bolts!" Green eyes glimmering with a red light, Nyandimar let loose two bolts that shimmered with the light of divine guidance. One of the crossbow bolts slid into the nose of the shark attacking Vegier, nearly hitting him in the process, and the other skimmed right over his head and fell just short of Haddix. Forgetting that the others were not used to arguments with dieties, he turned his eyes skyward and yelled, "whose side are you on! This is no time to fuss up my work, Th'Guy!"

[Siranae]

The shark attacking Vegier was thrown back by the force of Nyandimar's bolt, rolling as it fell to the ground. The shark struggled to get up, dazed. Once it had recovered, it looked at Vegier, then Nyandimar. It lunged at Vegier.

Eskay's shark had also regained its footing and was staring at her. Then, it ran around her, towards the other Saber Knights that had yet to fight.

Sira's shark, however, continued to fight her. What is going on?
She whacked the shark again, sending it to the ground once more. This isn't working... She thought as she dodged the shark again. She shouted at Faustgy. It's alright if you have to gravely damage it. We don't know how relentless these sharks are goi- As fast as lightning the shark had turned around, and Sira was faced with a gaping mouth filled with hundreds of teeth, with no time to dodge again. Everything seemed to slow down. Sira's eyes turned wide. Oh...my...Gods.

She had no idea what happened. One minute the shark was before her, and the next she had her spearpoint pointed at it, and from the weapon's sharp blade erupted a jet of water. The powerful stream shot right at the shark's mouth, shooting it backward and sending it crashing down on its back.

Sira stood agast, her spear held limply in her hand. Wha...Did...Did I do that?

In stupor, she didn't notice the shark shakily get back on its feet. But instead of attacking, it only stared at her. Then, it jumped in the water and swam away.

[Blue Fire Cyndaquil]

Haddix rushed at the shark that had been fighting Eskay, animal instincts kicking in. Without thinking, he stabbed into both sides of the head, twisted, and sliced down. Oh no.... Haddix had just realised what he did. Uh.... Sorry. (< expression on his face)

Marina was still fighting when the sharks she was fighting kept coming back. When she heard it was okay to gravely damage them, she used her talons to rip shark after shark to shreds. She then came across a large shark and quickly grabbed her saber. She swung at it with fire surrounding the blade, it was as if the heat of the desert was increasing her saber's strength with each swing.
DIE MONSTER! she yelled in a battle fury.

[Siranae]

Sira turned towards Haddix and Marina in turn, shocked. I said gravely not mortally! She shouted. Its not like she could blame them, though. These sharks were relentless. But the heat of the battle had made her irrititable.

After the one shark attacking Marina had been killed, the remaining shark did not return from underneath the water. Its fin could be seen moving back out to sea.

Nyandimar pocketed his hand crossbows again and drew a pair of short swords from a seam in his coat. "Th'guy be da[rn]ed, this is a mortal conflct." He broke into a sprint towards the shark in front of Vegier, leaping when he got close enough and bringing his sword down upon its shoulder.

Yeah, when I fight, I lose control a little... sorry...

(They're all dead, Poik. Except for the one that left. Do you just like killing? You always play Mafia, you tried to start a Mafia RP... No wonder you tried to kill a headless beast.)

((Well, you WERE warned not to kill them...))

Eskay's mouth dropped open upon seeing the wanton destruction. The corpses of the sharks were strewn about, and their blood stained the sand a horrid crimson. Inhaling deeply to compose herself and placing a small smile upon her face, Eskay turned to the rest of the group, her blade no longer coated in a thick layer of ice. "Well... that was..." she trailed off, uncertain of how to continue. Afterall, she was only fourteen. Sure, she had been on hunts with her father before, but this just seemed... different. Much more brutal. These were more than just beasts.

A caw sounded through the air, and Eskay turned her head skyward to see a crow descending. As it lowered, it seemed to grow darker and darker. When it had nearly reached the ground, a dark wind swirled around it, stirring up sand and causing Eskay to cover her eyes.

Once the dust had cleared, Eskay looked to see a man dressed in dark robes. Due to the fact he was wearing a hood that concealed his hair and eyes, all Eskay could make out was the lower half of a very pale face that contrasted sharply with the dark robes he wore. In his left hand, the man held a shortsword with a white blade that gleamed with an eerie light and an ebon hilt.

"Why have you killed?" the man inquired, his voice calm and enticing. "Is it not your duty to protect the creatures of the world... not destroy them?" His lips curled into a cold smile. "Perhaps... we are not so different, after all..."

As he spoke, the man had reached into a pouch with his right hand. He revealed a vial that contained a clear liquid. Holding the vial out, he spoke a word under his breath, and then closed his hand on the vial with surprising speed and strength, causing the vial to break open in his hands. Even from a distance, Eskay could see he'd cut his own hand, as the crimson blood began to mix in with the vial's liquid. With one swift motion, he threw the contents of his hand out toward the group of Knights and sharks. The moment the liquid touched the ground, its effects were apparent.

Without warning, the ground shook, and the sky turned a dark red, causing the water to carry the appearance of the shark's blood. The shaking ceased not long after. Clutching her Saber tightly, Eskay looked around in fright, waiting for an attack. When none came, she turned back to the man. He was smiling. "What are you trying to pull?" she shouted, bravado backing her words.

"Life does not end upon death. Still the spirit lives on... and a body killed in battle carries the spirit of war and rage. War does not stop upon any death. War carries on. In death, there is new life... a stronger life. A life that will not stop until it has won the war. A life no longer bound by mortality, and empowered by war." Raising his injured hand, he spoke one word:

"Arise."

To Eskay's horror, the corpses covered in blood, the ones with injuries no one would be able to survive, began to rise. Their eyes all glowed a horrifying red, which was even more terrifying in the crimson glow that the world had suddenly begun to give off. With even more speed and strength than before, a shark dove toward Eskay, slamming into her and sending her flying several feet.

Dazed, she quickly got to her feet. She looked over to the man in robes, who was returning her stare. "You look remarkably like your father," he told her after a pause. Eskay's eyes widened in surprise. "You two have the same blue eyes."

Despite the battle that had now commenced, Eskay continued to gaze in disbelief at the man. "Liar!" she spat, "My father's eyes are green!" Upon saying this, she felt a pang of guilt. Her father was still at home... he didn't know where she was, what had happened, what she was doing...

She heard him chuckle. "Do you really know so little about your past?" he asked her, tauntingly.

"What do you--AAAAAAAAGH!" Eskay howled in pain as she felt sharp fangs bite into her sword arm. With incredible reflexes, she slammed an ice-coated fist into the shark's nose before it could bite fully down. It made no noise as it was dislodged from her arm, stumbling backwards. Damn damn DAMN that was careless! she thought to herself angrily, turning from the cloaked man. There would be time for him later. Attempting to push his haunting words to the back of her mind while she held a hand up to try stop the bleeding that began to stain her white coat, Eskay turned to face the grim battle before her.

Frozen in shock after nearly having two arrows strike him, Vegier remained immobilized as the shark he had been fighting charged toward him once more. If Nyandimar hadn't acted then, the Arc would have been at least gravely wounded.
"Have you had much experience with archery?" Vegier asked Nyandimar weakly when he finally recovered enough to speak, though he was still visibly shaken by Nyandimar's shots. "Trying to kill me isn't helping me boost up my con...fi...dence..." He slowly trailed off, instinctively glancing up at the sky. Instead of the normal blue, it had turned to an eerie shade of red. What now? He tightened his grip on his brandistock, his knuckles turning white, as he watched the fallen sharks climbing back to their feet. Uttering an oath, he hastily readied himself once more for yet another battle.
"This is why I dislike magic," he grumbled, not particularly surprised by the sudden turn of events, but clearly not pleased with it, either. "Especially necromancy." So saying, he thrust his weapon forward, the blades pointing toward one of the sharks. When nothing happened, a puzzled expression came over his features. Curious. It worked back in Riviera. Shaking his head as if to clear his thoughts, he snapped back to the present situation just as Eskay screamed, one of the sharks snapping its jaws around the elf's arm. Even after Eskay managed to fight the shark off, his eyes widened in shock at the grave wound; with an injury like that, Eskay would have a harder time defending herself. He cursed loudly as he ran toward her, intending to back her up, but was nearly trampled by yet another shark. He only noticed in the nick of time and threw himself to the side, lashing out his spear as he did so. He felt the blades dig into the reincarnated creature, though it didn't seem to deter the shark.
"Sorry, Sira!" Vegier managed to yell at mermaid as he skipped backward several steps to put some distance between himself and his attacker. "I think we have no choice but to slay these demons now!" The last of his words barely left his mouth when the shark rammed into him again, knocking him down in the process. For a moment, sharp, gleaming teeth filled his vision. In his panic, he stabbed upward, feeling the keen tips of the three thin blades pierce the roof of the shark's mouth.
"S-Someone help Eskay!" the Arc ordered as he struggled with the shark above him, trying to ignore the splatters of blood raining down on him from the shark's wounds.

((BFC, three were killed, two swam away.))

At the battle's end, three of the five sharks had been killed. The body of the one killed at sea had washed ashore, to join the other fallen. The sand around them were stained with blood. Their eyes blank and glazed. For a long while, she could only stare at the lifeless bodies of the sharks. She knew that these sharks were out for their blood, yet she felt a pang of sorrow. She could feel tears beginning to form. ...I...didn...I wish...it didn't have to be this way. She mumbled. She gave a sigh and gazed out at the ocean, holding her arms, her spear tucked beneath them. Gods...Forgive us.

She heard an unfamiliar voice behind her.

"Why have you killed? Is it not your duty to protect the creatures of the world... not destroy them? Perhaps... we are not so different, after all..."

She turned to find a man, his face concealed by a dark cloak. She opened her mouth to speak, but nothing came out. She could now feel the tears falling down her face. After a while, she found her voice, but she could only utter one word.

The sky turned dark red, crimson like blood. The bodies of the sharks began to move, standing up. Sira's eyes grew wide in shock.

They…they're…undead? It appeared mercy was no longer an option.

She heard a terrifying scream, and turned around to see Eskay being attacked by a shark. Sira's heart skipped a beat.

“S-someone help Eskay!” She heard Vegier shout.

Eskay! Sira shouted, and sprinted towards the young Saber Knight. She took her uninjured arm and put it over her own shoulder, and then ran as fast as she could to a camel. With all her strength, she hoisted Eskay onto the camel. You're going to be okay! Hold on to the reigns! She shouted, then hit the camel. Yah! Go! Tanisian! With the sharks quickly approaching, the camel didn’t need to be told twice. It ran off as fast as its legs would carry it, kicking up a cloud of sand in its wake. After making sure Eskay hadn’t fallen off, she turned to the sharks, spearpoint in front. Pain and sadness fully visible on her face. What was I thinking?! This is my world, I should have known better. It’s my fault they’re in danger. It’s my fault those sharks are dead. It’s my fault Eskay’s hurt. It’s my fault. It’s my fault… She wiped the back of her hand across her eyes to clear her vision.

"I'm so sorry!" Nyandimar replied to Vegier's stunned complaint, not realizing before the impact it had on him. "I called upon my god to guide my arrows, but he's a god of chaos." He examined the blood on his blade, then flicked it off. "Still, he usually has more discretion in aiming than recently, there must be something bothering him."

Not being able to get a word in edgewise when the cloaked man was antagonizing Eskay, Nyandimar waited until he finished raising the sharks. (Geez, wall of text time!)
"Is it not our duties to maintain balance?" Nyandimar chimed in. "To protect from those who seek to upset it? Sometimes the needs of many outweigh the needs of a few." He pointed a blade towards the shadowy figure. "Who are you, evil sir, to criticize? You are not unlike us, but you seek a different balance. Call off your beasts or you will learn to fear for your life, for you are not the only one here with control over non-living things."

[Saber Knight]

Eskay tried to protest to being taken away, but she found she lacked the energy to do so. Inisde, she was cursing herself time and time again for being so foolish as to turn her back to the giant, dangerous, sharks. Refusing to go too far from the battle, however, Eskay yanked on the reins with her good hand, and forced the camel to turn around, though it dearly protested to this. Now she was a good distance from the battle, but not so far as to not be able to see what was occuring. Feeling pity for the creature, Eskay slipped from its back, and then gave it a pat. "Go on if you wish," she told it. "I can't leave my friends."

The man gazed at Nyandimar (or at least so it seemed, considering his eyes were obscured). "Who are you to dub me evil, when yours is the party that has taken the lives of these poor creatures? Threaten all you like, but I do not fear you. Prove to me that you are strong... let the spirit of war live on..."

[PoikSpirit]

"Who are you to deem me a protector of the fauna?" Nyandimar replied. "Do you know what evil is? Besides, I didn't want to assume and call you 'good sir', it might be offensive. We acted in self-defense, what is your motivation?" He pulled out one hand crossbow and let loose a bolt at one of the charging undead. The bolt headed straight for the shark's eye.

[Siranae]

Sira thrust her saber in the direction of the cloaked man. Her face now filled with rage, and her eyes casting an accusatory glare. You made them do this, didn’t you? She said, her voice laced with hostility.

Nyandimar’s arrow pierced the shark’s eye, going through its skull and then back out to the other side. It stood motionless for a few seconds, then collapsed to the ground.
