Re: Official Mod Discussion Thread
AK still thinks that gender as 'mandatory' is a good idea, because some people might get offended by silvers was of thinking, and AK is surely not going to go around talking in a third person always and never using pronouns because if I called everybody by their screen names AK posts would be longer and it would take AK more time to type up the screen names rather than 'he, she, him, her'.

Capperroff says third person can have pronouns, just not personal ones. Duh.

AK wasn't obviously obvious enough, he meant Personal pronouns. >>

Re: Official Mod Discussion Thread
Well, Silver is offended by NG's way of thinking. People are going to be offended no matter what you do or say; a mistaken gender seems to be a relatively harmless mistake, seeing as gender is such an abstract concept anyway.
"Irregardless" and "Over exaggerated" are NEVER CORRECT EVER because they are redundant
Regardless means "without regard", and adding "ir" on the front actually makes it a double negative; exaggerate means "to overstate" so you're literally saying "over overstate."
Example: I can not exaggerate the importance of this fact enough, regardless of how often people ignore it.

Well, AK, by no means meant to offend anyone, he just want's to state his opinion like everyone else is aloud to.

Re: Official Mod Discussion Thread
I'm not going to make anything in that thread mandatory. What's the point? If someone wants to make absolutely certain that everyone gets their gender or whatever correct, they can post it in that thread. If you they don't, and someone gets it wrong, they have no reason to be offended since they were the one that chose not to share that information in the first place. And, on the internet, some people like being annoymous, sometimes for very good reasons. For these reasons I'm never going to make the sharing of personal information mandatory on these forums.

OK, I shall go manipulate my mouse so that I can change the post of origin in the thread so that it states that nothing there is mandatory, therefore making it able to be anonymous on here.

... The Saying Hi to Josiah thread pretty much covers that, I don't think we need a whole forum for it.*^_^*kako wrote:What about a blog type of forum? Where everyone can go and post about daily things or events in there lives.

I agree with Kaida.
Re: Official Mod Discussion Thread
Hmm...Opal hasn't been here in a while. I mean, I know she was just here two months ago, but that was only in a few posts. D'you think we might need another mod for the Game Time! forum, or no mod at all, or just keep her?

Re: Official Mod Discussion Thread
Hmm... I was thinking of adding a new thread but I have no idea where to put it, could someone tell me were a good place to put a thread to talk about what happened that year at E3? Also, I would also like to make a thread for talking about conventions, I haven't been able to find one while searching the forums, although I might have missed it.
Could someone perhaps tell me where those threads would be if they exist or, if they don't, were I should go to make them?
Thanks in advanced.

Re: Official Mod Discussion Thread
E3 thread is in the Video Games section, I'm honestly not sure how you missed that.
Convention thread seems pretty unnecessary since we rarely have discussions about them and they seem to fit pretty well in the RotRotSoSHtJ Thread, but if you must create one, either TV, Movies, and Anime or Whatever would be the place to put it. The TV, Movies, and Anime section seems most logical, of course, since that covers Anime conventions and Star Trek Conventions, but would exclude Comic Book Conventions and miscellaneous other types. But of course, I still think The Saying Hi thread houses them pretty well anyway...

Silver pretty much said everything I would have said.
