5th Genereation confirmed?

I don't think you need to worry about the Pokémon series ending anytime soon with the sales numbers they've been getting. But yeah, the amount of pokémon is pretty high (current count through 4th gen is 493, not counting multiple forms of the same pokémon) and they do seem to have used up most of the good ideas for legendaries. I mean, Arceus was more or less god, how are they gonna top that?

And, seriously, I doubt they will be able to top Arceus, but who says they have to? Ok, so there's a so-called 'god' pokemon, doesn't necessarily mean they have to top it. Arecus is, true, typed 'Alpha Pokemon' and the description says: 'It is described in mythology as the Pokemon that shaped the universe with it's 1,000 arms.' That is a direct quote from my Diamond game. So, I guess technically it is and isn't in the same sense that it is the 'god' pokemon

yeah, I just checked serebii and here are the %th gen starter's species:
Grass snake, Fire pig, and sea otter.
which one do you think will be most popular this time?

Also, the girl trainer looks awesome, and the guy does not look lame.
I cannot wait for this game!!!

I hope the female trainer design grows on me like Lyra's did...
I really hope the starters will grow on me as well...

Actually, I kinda like the girl's design. More than the guy's anyway, though he's way better than the D/P guy. As for the starters... Can't say I'm overly fond of any of them. Hopefully their evolved forms will be cooler.

Probably gonna chose the grass type, seems less lame and I'm kinda dedicated to grass (except for g/s/c/HG/SS, fire for win).

I really like the Grass starter, and the fire piggy is really cute! The water starter would be cute as well... but the nose ruins it. The big, yellow thing in the middle of its face just weirds me out.

Just saw the pics of the new starters; Totally getting the grass type, reminds me of Cindiquil!!! He's so cute too, the rest look just weird....
I guess they decided to take off the part with your pokemon following you... I kinda liked that... but yea, like it was said earlier, it's kinda weird walking through town like "I got an awesome-ly cool god pokemon walking right behind me!!!" And everyone just goes about like nothings happening...

well,Zoras won't choose until he sees the evolutions for the starters.

My theories for the fully evolved forms:
Grass:An awesome snake warrior with shade like eyes, and leaf blades on the arms.
Fire: Flaming Warthog of Doom.
Water:Something Beautiful,since the starter's form is so dorky, this will be like a WAH?! moment for the trainer, and those who didn't choose it.
any one else got theories?

Gotta say, it's nice to see how much they've improved the presentation compared to past games. Definately goes beyond the minor graphical upgrades each of the past sets has added.
