5th Genereation confirmed?

Jumping in this a bit late...

Then again, Earthbound was a fantastic RPG, possibly one of the best, but it sold horribly compared to the Pokemon games. If only the series continued on, it would probably be in the same popularity category other popular franchises are in.

It's not because EarthBound didn't sell well. The Mother series is really popular over in Japan, going alongside with some of Nintendo's other franchises. The reason the series is over is because Itoi had planned the ending for over 10 years now, and ended it as he did in Mother 3.

Pokemon Black and White.

No real info other than names and possible release date (Autumn 2010 in Japan), but they're confirmed now.

Colly and I were discussing out high hopes for a prequel - a simple theme like Black and White is just less dramatic than gemstones and white gold. So we're expecting the theme to be something like Light vs. Darkness rather than, "OH MY GOD THERES GIANT GOD POKEMANZ AND THEYLL DESTROY THE TIME SPACE CONTINUUM AND YOU GOTTA SAVE THE WORLD AND STUFF." I also have no idea how they would plan to out-do the epic factor that Arceus brought in... unless they give us a proper Giovanni backstory and go back to the good ol' days. God, that would be way more epic than a god.

At that point in the conversation, I criticized Colly for getting my hopes up for something Nintendo would never do. It is fun to think about, at least.

So, Pokemon Black and White. We'll apparently be getting a bit more info on the 15th.

What? No Platinum and, um, Titanium? Aw... Anyway, as much as I'd love to see Game Freaks do something different with the story, I seriously doubt they will. I'm sure that, come next year, we'll be controlling yet another kid as he/she heads off to collect eight badges, challenge the Pokémon League, and stop Team Universe (a guess, but it fits the usual naming scheme and is the next step above galaxy) from using the legendary beatles (hey, it could happen, they love beatles in Japan) to take over the world. If, my some miracle, they do decide to change up the plot, I seriously hope they take a leaf from the awesome Pokémon Adventures (Pokémon Special in Japan) manga, which is getting a much deserved US rerelease as we speak.

3-D looks interesting, but are they keeping grid-movement with something like that?

According to mah sources, the starters for Black/White will be revealed some time this month, probably on the 15th.

maybe they'll be more fire types this generation, or they might add a new type or something.
Now that I think about it, years before R/S/E came out,(back when I was 7 years old) I made up a pokemon called wurmple, it looked similar to the wurmple from the games, except it was pink, green, and blue, and it had weedle's eyes. You can imagine my reaction when I played my Sapphire version and remembered my wurmple.

I, personally, cannot wait for the 5th gen :D True, I really think that nintendo should hold back on the new pokemon, what, is it gonna be 500 or so?, I really hope they don't end with the 5th gen, I just fear they will run out of legendaries and stuff like that, this video is a perfect example: Although, I don't like how it ends, so you probably shouldn't listen to the last 5-3 seconds... especially if you are one of the younger people on the forums. Anyways, I'm really psyched! I hope we get more info soon!
