Bonus Week: Homestar Runner

Post by Josiah »

Homestar Runner isn't exactly a comic (though it's kinda close), but a collection of Flash cartoons (often in the 1 -3 minute range). They star an odd collection of character including the idiotic Homestar Runner, the "awesome" Strong Bad, and more. Aside from the main collections of cartoons and shorts (which aren't really any shorter than the regular animations), there's lots of spin-off like Strong Bad E-Mails, Teen Girl Squad, and old-timey cartoons. You can really just in anywhere, but the character profiles aren't a bad place to start and the Strong Bad E-Mails are typically some of the funniest things on the site. My personal favorite e-mail so far is Homsar (one of the earlier ones).

Since this isn't a comic, the fifty strips rule doesn't apply. Instead, watch 10-20 animations (from whatever parts of the site).

Well this was one of my favorite flash animation collections back in the day. I know I'm not the only one. i actually have the .swf file for the "Computer over=very yes" Strongbad E-mail downloaded.
So good jorb Josiah on the Bonus Week selection. Two thumbs way up.

Recommended order of Operations:

Welcome Speech
At least one of these
Comic
TGS 1-4
Dragon
Trogdor (And Peasant's Quest if you've got time)
Japanese Cartoon
Stinkoman
Army
Cheat Commandos
Virus
Fhqwhgads
Sibbie
Rock Opera

Check out Anything for Homestar's finest moment. Or maybe Long Pants. 1 Step Ahead for Strong Sad's character in a nutshell. Unnatural is Bub's chance to be a big star. And Marzipan's Answering Machine is pretty entertaining. Kid's Book is just awesome.

So yeah, I've been following this site since I was in the seventh grade. And... I'm now a Freshman in college. The more recent stuff hasn't been as good as the classics, plus it's been dead since like December, but... I grew up here. I loves meh Homestar Runner.
"Irregardless" and "Over exaggerated" are NEVER CORRECT EVER because they are redundant
Regardless means "without regard", and adding "ir" on the front actually makes it a double negative; exaggerate means "to overstate" so you're literally saying "over overstate."
Example: I can not exaggerate the importance of this fact enough, regardless of how often people ignore it.

I actually only started watching Homestar a couple months ago. I'd been meaning to check it out for a while but never did and then I got a good deal on Telltale's Strongbad game, which I got cause I like everything of Telltale's that I've played (Sam & Max, Tales of Monkey Island, etc). And I figured if I was getting the game I really should go ahead and watch some of the cartoons so I'd know what it was about. So far, I'm probably 25-33% though them all. I'll try and post some favorites over the weekend.

This is my RP Forum, Tales of Symphonia Adventures, or ToSA for short. Please take a look?

Wow, I haven't been there since I was 7. Still awesome. Wonder if I could still find that trick or treat thing.

I don't know which Trick or Treat thing you mean (this one?), but if you go to the "Toons" page then click "Holidays" it should be in there somewhere. I think this one was the best Halloween cartoon, but I've spent much more time with this one.

Yeah so I've seen every cartoon on the site. And I bought Guitar Hero 2 just for Trogdor. And it was worth it.

Ah, never mind, I found it. It was an interactive toon called "The House that Gave Sucky Treats." I loved that one.

Try giving the Pumpkin to the Poopsmith, if you haven't already.

"Hello, I'm Homestar Runner!

...isn't that great?"

Love this site, haven't been on it in a while though. The first time I saw it was when I was really little. It was shown to me and my siblings by our babysitter...after he showed us how to make a can crush itself, inflate a peep in the microwave, and make a surge of electricity using the tv and tin foil.

He never babysat us again...

The Peasant's Quest game was pretty funny. I remember trying to "Make friends with Kerek" and "Buy Kerek a Cold One." Oh, and gotta love Dungeon Master.

Cheet Commandos, Dangeresque, Teen Girl Squad, it's crazy how many videos they've made, and pretty much all of them are awesome.

One of my friends in school even has a The Cheet bag.

If any of you haven't played it, the afore mentioned Telltale Homestar game (Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People) is pretty awesome.
