Wow Saber... that's really rough, I'm sorry to hear that. And I wholeheartedly agree with Josiah, you need to tell his parents or the school counselor or something.

In other news, Canadians just won silver in the Women's Moguls with Americans getting both gold and bronze! There was this one 18 year old Canadian who won 5th place on her first time in the Olympics - she was really good for a first-timer!

Also, did you guys hear about the Georgian luge rider who died the other day? In a way it's good, at least he died doing what he liked, but still. Getting into the Olympics and then getting in an accident the morning before it begins is a little harsh...

Heso! Happy Valentine's day, people! I think last year I commented on how it's a stupid Hallmark Day and everyone that goes around with 'Valentine's Day' on their lips should get a stake of holly through their heart and be boiled in their own pudding... or something like that, anyway. I said that last year, but... I still think that way!

Except I have a date this year.

But it's not like it's because it's Valentine's Day... it's because she's off from school tomorrow for President's day! So we can stay out late and not have to wake up early the next morning. And that's why we're going out on Valentine's Day. It's really more of a President's Day celebration.

Yeah.

Really.
"Irregardless" and "Over exaggerated" are NEVER CORRECT EVER because they are redundant
Regardless means "without regard", and adding "ir" on the front actually makes it a double negative; exaggerate means "to overstate" so you're literally saying "over overstate."
Example: I can not exaggerate the importance of this fact enough, regardless of how often people ignore it.

Yeah, I was watching that. I always feel bad when one of the skiiers falls... I mean, they worked so hard to get there, then they blow it :( . I saw the 18 year old.... then was amused when the next skiier was 35, nearly double her age :P

The Mrs. Happy-to-be was my favorite. She was jumping up and down, she was even happier for her teammate who won gold than her teammate was for herself. It was awesome.

It was so close near the end, though. Just a few fractions of a second.

Yeah... I saw a replay of the Georgian luger dying... I wish they didn't show it, I already knew he died, I really didn't want to see a man get in an accident that took his life.

Anywho... Singles Awareness Day, yippee! Not really. Got a hockey game today. And a Destination Imagination meeting... one kid on the team has a girlfriend, and I'm sure she's upset that her boyfriend won't be with her for a few hours on Valentine's Day... OH THE HORROR. Really... she think she has control of his entire life. I mean... I'm friends with her, but she needs a LOT of attention. And she can be bratty and egotistic. Kind of drives me insane, but whatevs, not my problem~

Eugh. Everyone in my family but me's got something for Valentine's Day. Mom and Dad are married, le duh. Tango's got a boyfriend of like 3 weeks-ish. Not sure if they're doing anything in celebration of Valentine's Day, though. And, my 8 year old sister... is having friends over... for a wedding. She's actually having a freakin' wedding to get married to one of her friends. They set the table upsatirs with nice plates and glass and everything, and they've got someone writing the vows.... '_- I mean, I've gotten married to a few of my friends, I guess. But, it's just spur of the moment, like when I lent Music Maker my old study guide and she was like "OMG!!!! MARRY ME!" Eh, whatever. My little sister is crazy.

So... I wrote a song yesterday. I just realized how perfect it is for today. It's an ominous organ song in D minor (because all of the best ominous organ songs are in D minor, it's true. Phantom of the Opera Overture, Toccata and Fugue by Bach, that one song when you battle final Bowser in Super Mario 64.... All D minor organ songs). Perfect for Valentine's Day! :D

Hi! My parents headed off to AZ to visit my brother, entertain my grandma who is going down there to visit for a week or two, and go to baseball games (well, that's what my dad will be doing anyway). I got left behind because my brother's apartment only really have room for three people. On the bright side, it means I can spend Valentine's Day playing Bioshock on their giant 52" HD TV. Which has nothing what-so-ever to do with Valentine's day, but that's probably what I'm going to be doing.

Hi. Canada won its first ever gold medal on home soil today, in the men's mogul skiing. Also, Ottawa beat the New York Islanders in their last game until after the Olympics. Yaaaaay...

Hey all! Gold in men's moguls, that's pretty awesome :-)

So I'm not 100% sure if I went through Valentine's or Single's Awareness Day yesterday. I've got a friend back in Ontario and we both like each other - although we didn't tell each other until after I had moved of course :drop2: So we've been getting really close and sent each other some pretty cheesy V-day cards. So I didn't have someone to actually spend the day with, but it's nice knowing somebody wanted too!

'Lo, all. My younger sister has enrolled in a French exchange student program, so for the next two weeks a student from France is going to be staying with my family. After these two weeks my sister will then spend another two weeks in France with the French student's family. Should be interesting.

LOL I forgot to change my birthday settings on this forum. Just wanted a reminder for people, whether some forgot or don't care.

So far, this has been the worst birthday ever. Everybody at school didn't give a crap and many people were just acting like today was just an average Monday. But overall, a lot of people had a bad day anyway. So I couldn't help it.

But on top of that, life has been getting better overall. :)

Was at a friends house all night on the 13th. Watched several winter Olympic events. I think the entire room was cheering for Apolo Ohno 'cause he has the most awesome name ever (and happens to be American, and we're all American, so yippee). My sister and I were also really impressed with the other American guy (can't remember his name) 'cause he seriously injured himself in September and now he's back and got bronze. Which is just as impressive as Ohno's sixth medal, in our opinion.
Yes they only got the medals 'cause the Koreans messed up and fell literally the last turn before the finish line, and we feel very bad for Korea, but hey, we're American. Can't complain. :/
And Ohno's qualification round was insane. oo'

In other news, Mabinogi Generation 9: Alchemist came out last Wednesday, so I've been busy with that. So fun ~

Heso! Went to see the Percy Jackson movie with Colly yesterday. Yeah, while most people were off watching some cheesey chick flick, we were in a theater full of kids watching a fantasy - action movie.

And it... sucked. A lot. I've read the books but Colly hasn't, so we got to examine it as an adaptation and as a film in its own right... and we both agreed, it sucked either way.

Colly's complaints: Rushed plot, poorly coordinated action scenes, bad acting (Really just by Percy and Annabeth, but since they're the main characters...), and the fact that none of the characters really got... any development at all. The only one she liked was Grover, the comic relief side-kick character.

My complaints: Important events removed, characters changed for the worse, plot points pulled out of nowhere... ok, ok, I'm going to use some specific examples here of why I hated it a lot. In the book, there was a rule that the big three - Poseidon, Zeus, and Hades - weren't allowed to have Demigod children. In the movie, they made absolutely no mention of that, but instead had some rule that gods weren't allowed to see their children at all. Which created a giant plot hole, because their motive for Luke's character was that his father, Hermes, never came to visit or seemed to care about him at all. That was a perfectly good reason in the book, if gods are going to have children they should really pay them a bit of attention. But in the movie... why would Luke demand his father's attention, knowing that it's strictly forbidden and there's nothing Hermes could do about it? It doesn't make sense. They invented a bunch of plot devices - a quest to gather magic pearls, a threat from Hades right in the beginning, a battle with Luke that never happened - and most importantly... ruined pretty much every character. Grover, I can forgive. He was totally different, but still funny and he did his job. It would be a problem in the later books, but I don't think they have any plans for them... Chiron was still cool, though his screen time was severely cut. Percy was a mess and the director just didn't seem to have any idea what he wanted to do with him. Annabeth... made me want to hurt things. Medusa went from creepy old cat lady to creepy young rapist. Poseidon went from All-powerful but pretty chill surfer to, in Colly's words, "Lol I'm a god." Ares went from main antagonist to minor cameo. Clarice went from minor antagonist to complete non-existence. Dionysus went from extremely awesome character, god of wine who got a little too tipsy at the last god-party and was forbidden from drinking until he straightened his act out, head of Camp Half Blood, sarcastic, sardonic, apathetic, anti-hero role model... to complete non-existence.

Dionysus was cut completely. That's what killed the film for me, honestly. Going in, I thought, "It's probably not gonna be that good, but as long as they get Dionysus right, I'll forgive them."

He wasn't even there. Therefore, I rate Percy Jackson as a waste of time and money with virtually no redeeming qualities.

However, it's still pretty good as a date movie if you and your date have time to kill afterward, discussing exactly why the movie was so terrible.

Hey.

I <3 my friends. Had two of them over today... y'know, I think it's the first time I've had over a few friends and none of them was a guy. Weird.

Well, had two of my not-guy friends over today (Music Maker being one of them). It was a blast :D Especially when we were tickling the third member of our group and she didn't notice I was filming... hehe... and when she was drumming on Rock Band and didn't notice that I was filming 'til the end. She basically turned around, her expression changed dramatically, and then she was like "Oh God" and then the clip ended :P

So much fun... more fun than I've had in a while :)

Hockey practice got cancelled for tomorrow, so excited. Means more time for Destination Imagination... which is bound to be a blast as well :D

Hi! I was going to go see the Percy Jackson movie (while expecting the worst, like I always do with movies based on books these days), but after hearing Silver's thoughts I think I'll save myself two hours and $7 and play some more Bioshock instead. Or maybe I'll play Ace Attorney Miles Edgeworth instead, since my copy should be in today. Thanks for the warning, Silver!

As usual, nothing too exciting is going on here. Got to the big plot twist in Bioshock which, interestingly enough, dealt with some of my complaints about the main character's lack of personality (though I still think he should, you know, have one). And, as previously mentioned, the new Ace Attorney game is out today so I'll probably be playing it instead of working.

Alright everybody! This time I'll be gone even longer. Possibly until Spring break I might be lurking again.

But just to keep you updated, I've been having a great life. My birthday sushi dinner was amazing!! My friend gave me his PS2 and a load of other games including FFVII!! :D I'll be occupied, lol...

Thanks again, everybody.

Hey.

OMG WE FINALLY GOT A TON OF SNOW THIS IS SO EXCITING!!! The ground has been GREEN for the past few WEEKS! GREEN! It's WINTER! IT SNOWED ALL DAY IT LOOKS SO PRETTY OUT THERE!

Okay... so... had a 10 hour long Destination Imagination meeting today... uhm... yeah... It was fun, because I love my team. However, our coaches, by the end, are driving me insane. Even my friends were getting on my nerves, and I'm sure I was getting on theirs... but oh my god our final performance is going to be EXPLICATIVE AMAZING! I might have to show you guys when we finish in a month's time... I'm having a lot of fun with my role, except I can't read the lines too much because it is soooo bad for my voice since half of my lines are said with a hoarse voice. I also got a headache after 8 or so hours of working and had to lie down... wheee... but it's going to be awesome.

Oh, and I probably have to write music... which I suck at. And hockey practice. And some homework. Over vacation.
