This amuses me; The word 'Baka' in Spanish means cow, so I get a good laugh at that when ever someone says 'baka' hehe.
Josiah wrote:ohaiyo: good morning (casual)
This is slightly weird to me in a sense that I hear 'oh-hai' alot, online and in life (well, in America), so I'm guessing it came from 'ohai(yo)'?
and a final thing (I have lots of comments, sorry xD)

So, I under stand that 'Neko' mean cat, but the fact that seagull is 'umi-neko' just weirds me out :/

ohaiyo is an old Japanese greeting and has nothing to do with and English words.

neko is cat and umi is ocean. So you could call a seagull an ocean cat. Actually, I'm not positive if seagull uses the same kanji as ocean and cat though, so there's a slight chance it means something entirely different.
