Nyarhar, I beat you in Crafting even though I haven't logged onto the website known as "Runescape" for quite some time. I was once a pay-to-play member for the time period of a few months, but after some time had elapsed I got bored and quit, getting rid of my membership. Haven't played since for more than a few minutes at a time. I do not recall what any of my ohter various stats were, but I do recall being an awesome crafter as I spent many long hours working on getting experience points for that paricular stat. I also recall obtaining a Dragon Longsword and a super poison Dragon Dagger. I began Runescape way back in 4th grade... at the time, there were only about 3,000 people online at a time, and there were maybe 20 servers at max! Jagex has done much more to improve since then, and the popularity of Runescape has skyrocketed. I also recall my friend selling his account for an amount around 20 American dollars to another friend, who then sold it for about 40 American dollars to yet another friend

Ah! Yet another fellow RuneScape player, I was once like you! My character is over 5 years old now, for I created it way back in the year known as '04! I was in 3rd grade at the time, just before I became home schooled myself, and at the moment of now I am a member and this is about the time where I should post the amount of time I have been a member as and how many times, usually I purchase membership for a few months out of a year then end it abruptly, also, I have done this for multiple times in the 5-6 years that I have had my account! I have spent alot of time working on my Fletching stat in the past, for that is one of the more fun! But as of the time now, I am working on my Strength stat so that I can raise my combat level up very high so that I will be able to play the game known as Castle Wars with out getting killed as often! And, Lo! what you have mentioned about your friend and his account is treachery! TREACHERY I do say! I have never, nor will I ever sell any of my accounts for any form of money , be it GP or real world money! For it is illegal and says so in the rules of the game!

I hate to burst your bubble, NintendoGamer, but things like that aren't really anything anyone can do anything about. In my opinion, if they wish to make money and another knows what it is that they are purchasing, I say, go for it. It's your choice, you make your own desicions. If you get robbed, then don't be so stupid with your cash. That's just how it so happens to be in this crazy, crazy life living on the ever-rotating heavenly body called Earth.

I have only said those things from the past because I thought the as true! And I always will for I do not intend on breaking the rules of any kind of game of which I could get either arrested, fined or something ever so worse than that.

Most MMOs don't allow the selling of in-game items for real money, that's true. Though it's mostly at attempt to stop Chinese gold farmers. People who actually make a living farming gold all day in MMOs and then selling it to lazy players who don't feel like taking the time to get their own gold. The biggest problem here is that the huge influx of gold created by people who do nothing but farm gold all day tends to seriously unbalance the game's economy and make things either too easy for every to get or too expensive for most of the non-cheating players. It's a problem. So MMOs, however, are fine with players selling items for real money and have their own auction sites to help keep the process for official and trustworthy.

Selling of accounts, however, is ok. It's generally frowned upon because some scammers will sell off an account and then quickly change the password before the buyer can actually log-in. With some games its also possible to use a purchased account to charge things to the seller's credit card. So, while selling accounts isn't really not allowed, MMO companies usually tell people not to do it simply to reduce the amount of scamming.

I think the way Jagex is balancing the economy better is with the GE, also known as the Grand Exchange, It allows players to submit items (2 for ftp 6 for ptp) that they either want to sell or buy, then they automatically balance the prices out as well as they can by taking the most of what they can out of the 'sell' items area then just creating money to give to the person who submitted the items, therefore making the items 'disappear' from the game, but then they in turn lower the value of the GP, but they was they balance that is, too, with the GE and manipulating it, I do not want to go into the details about how I think it is done, simply because I do not want to seem childish for my ideas and that also I am a bit too lazy and busy to type a whole long discussion about the GP, GP, Jagex and RuneScape.

And not to mention they don't even do it themselves. They get Bots to do it for them.

I suppose most Americans use bots when they want cheat. In China though, there's so much cheap labor that they probably get real people to do most of their work. Harder to detect that way I guess. Not that I really care too much. Sounds like a really boring job.

I tried using a bot once.. it got boring fast quite frankly, and it only raised me up about 30 levels or so in fishing over night, not that impressive.
