The Portal Panic Lounge

KAIDA & CHRIS
Kaida and Chris step iside the Black Hole Bar & Grill then pause, unable to see a thing in the extremely dark interior. After a few moments their eyes adjusted just enough to allow them to see vague outlines of tables, the people at the tables, and the waiters moving about between the tables.

One of the waiters soon spots the pair and floats over. It's too dark to make out many details, be he sounds mail, looks roughly human, and seems to be floating about six inches above the ground. "Welcome to the Black Hole. Will it just be the two of your or are you expecting others? Also, would you like the normal or abnormal section?" The words normal and abnormal sound strange and somewhat alien, almost as if they're a rather imperfect translation.

"wow its dark." He stated, squinting trying to see, then notices the waiter in front of himself, "oh, hi, um... what would you recommend for 2 humanoid-shaped aliens? That is, for normal or abnormal, of course" He said trying to act normal, then looked at Kaida and asked her "do you think the others might come?"

[Kaida]

"I don't think so, we didn't tell them where we were going so if they do show up here it'd be pure luck." Kaida stated then addressed the waiter. "Just the two of us, but can we have a table that has enough room to fit more in case someone shows up please?" She asked, unlike Chris she didn't have to squint to see. Kaida was naturally good at seeing then the dark once her eyes adjusted.

((I only was squinting at first until my eyes adjusted, Chris is actually very good at seeing in the dark))

Now seeing better he straightened up and stopped squinting, realizing he probably looked really dumb to the 'people' who could probably see him. "Yea, I guess so, but a bigger table is a good idea, just in case." He agreed. "I still don't get if we are abnormal or normal..." He then whispered to Kaida.

((Just make a decision on the "normal" "abnormal bit. It's got to do with your seating area, not food, and either way is perfectly fine for humans.))

[Kaida]

"Might as well go with normal then" Kaida said as she looked around. "And we'll go with the normal section too." She said addressing the waiter with a smile.

[Saber Knight]

Mickey glanced over to the TV. "Eh.... I'm still confused as to what's going on. But, then again, I tend to always be confused in general." A shrug. "I do know that playing Portal Panic is a blast, though."

[Winters Rage]

((I realized it wasn't part of the food, but I thought it had something to do with where you sat, or how, kinda like the smoking or non-smoking areas))

"Ok, Normal it is." He said then whispered to himself very quietly whatever 'normal' is..... Then he said to Kaida, "So, what do you think we'll find? That is, of course, to eat." being very curious like always but didn't wanna say anything to the waiter because he isn't very social to 'people' he doesn't know.

The waiter led the pair through the dark restaurant to a circular four seat table and handed them each a menu. "Here we are. Would you like to hear about today's specials?"

((wow, it worked!!! I was really bored, and decided to read all of the posts in the lounge, and hopped someone would post when I was reading it, and someone did!))

He follows the waiter and sits down. "Umm... Sure, I guess." he responded to the waiter.


((wait, I have a question, or should I ask this in the earth's suite, that is to someone instead of chris not hearing it. It's about how the aliens can understand us, and vice versa, also, how can we read all the words? wouldn't they be in alien letters?))

((Actually, there's something that would have been explained to you (albiet not in much detail) when you were abducted. Basically, everyone has nano machines that function as nearly universal translators. They alter what you hear and see so that it seems to be in your own language. They do the same for the aliens so that you seem to be speaking their languages. There are some languages that aren't supported, though they're pretty rare. It is possible to turn the translator off and on at will, so you can experience things in their original language, but no one on the Earth Team has learned how to do so.))

((ohh, then why dont you put that in the rules place, or w/e, because I didn't read it, therefore Chris didn't know it, of-course, I knew it because I read the older posts saying that, but Chris didn't because he didn't read it, but now, he knows it because apparently he was told when he was abducted, carry on))

Sira smiled. Really? Cool. So, do you know when the next round is gonna start up? Or, are we gonna be here a while?
Though Sira would have liked to start soon, she wouldn't mind staying here for a little bit. It was a really nice room.

[Kaida]

"Sure we would" Kaida said to the waiter smiling. She loved food. And she was getting to try stuff that no one on earth had even dreamed of.

((ok, so while we wait a few days for the waiter to tell us the specials, I'll talk to Kaida))

He picks up a menu and looks at it while the waiter is listing the specials. "So, what sounds good to you, Kaida?" He asked while browsing the food items.
