Gareth smiled softly at Kauka took took a couple very non-threatening steps towards her. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Kauka. If you don't mind me saying, I can tell a bit about you already. I can tell you're bold and courageous. You're traveling alone in an unfamiliar land, on unfamiliar legs. I can also see that you're innocent. You greeted us with such warmth, though we're strangers and each of a different race than yourself. I can also see that you're eager. It's easy to see you haven't researched this land or its inhabitants much or at all, otherwise you would have known her race and my race, and... you wouldn't be walking aimlessly through the woods." Gareth let out a pleasant chuckle, and smiled courteously. "You have a young and unstained mind. That's good; I like that. But since you're a stranger to this land and the dangers therein, I can not allow you to take another step alone." Gareth kneeled in front of Kauka and extended his hand, smiling up at her. "Come with me, and don't be afraid of me. I'll protect you.

Taking quiet steps through black trees on all sides, Zlli walked without making sounds that would lure someone towards her direction. After she got around the Angel city, she forgot that she could dodge the sun completely. She had a charm that will let her walk in the sunlight, and after finding it, she put it around her neck. As fast as she could run, she went around the forest with great speed.

At Gareth's chivalry, Evrona once again gagged. "Bah," she muttered to herself. "'Come with me, and don't be afraid of me. I'll protect you.'" Evrona rolled her eyes. "Y'know the number one way to survive? Trust no one!" she said, shouting the last two words angrily. "Believe me."

--

"Are you sure, Elli?" Gil inquired. Elli mumbled a quick spell in angelic under her breath that would temporarily amplify her hearing.

"...number....survive..." Elli looked around, attempting to locate the source of the sound. "...no one!"

"Eep!" she squeaked, diving behind Gil once again. "S-someone is o-out there. I-I'm positive."

"I'll go investigate, then."

"A-are you serious?"

"Of course. Don't worry, Elli, I'll be fine." Even so, Gil’s hand went to the sword strapped at his side. So much for finding some peace and quiet, he thought to himself with a sigh.

Gliding through the air soundlessly, he ducked and weaved through the branches of the trees effortlessly. Finally, he heard speaking. Taking the utmost caution, Gil flew in the direction of the voices. Sure enough, there were three figures on the ground. Two were speaking to each other, and the other was just scowling. Oddly enough, they all seemed to be of different races, though Gil couldn’t be absolutely certain.

Poor Kauka was, at this point, completely confused. She stood looking from Evrona to Gareth and back. Eventually she spoke up. "Thank you for thinking so highly of me, sir," she told Gareth, "but I think I'm good enough to defend myself if I had to." She smiled at him, but didn't take his offered hand. Then she faced Evrona and her face fell. "I'm sorry I bother you so much, miss," she continued. "I didn't mean to annoy you. I could, well, try not to be annoying if you'd be so kind as to tell me what I'm doing that irks you. I don't like irritating people." As an afterthought, she added, "If there's really nothing I can do, I could leave." Her facial expression, however, made it obvious she'd rather not leave now that she'd finally found company.
(Not mentioning Gil here 'cause she's not sharp enough to notice him.)

Wodahny watched Gil fly into the woods and sighed. "Magic, Aircrafting, point remains I can't do either." Glancing at Iah, she asked, "Keep an eye on flighty-girl here, will you? I'm following him." Without waiting for a reply, she also entered the forest, keeping behind trees and taking the utmost care not to create any unnatural sounds. Which was harder than it sounded, with all the dead twigs and leaves underfoot. She wound up taking an extremely roundabout way, stepping only in patches of relatively clear earth. She knew, weighted as she was with her armor, she'd make a much louder snap upon walking over something than most people.
It took a while, but she soon located the voices Elli had spoken of. She also spotted Gil, still airborne, and surprisingly hard to see in the dark forest despite his brightly-colored robes. She ducked behind a tree, one among many in the thick clump Kauka had emerged from. Wrapping her cape tightly around herself and keeping very still, she observed the threesome. One, the male, appeared to be human. The other two, however, probably weren't. For one, no human had blue hair of any shade, and likely wouldn't be walking in a forest bare-footed. For the other, her ears didn't look quite the same.

Iah said nothing as their group diminished itself by half. Instead, he stood with his hands once again in his robe sleeves, examining the clouds drifting lazily by, the air rose he'd just made tucked behind one ear when Elli hadn't seemed interested in it. He didn't look at the other angel at all, but was aware of what she was doing. Outwardly, he appeared somewhat absent-minded, but if anything hostile had come calling at that moment, it would have found itself under fire within seconds. Iah was not the kind of person to let people die, whether they were strangers or not.
(Nothing to do with this guy unless Elli moves.)

Despite Evrona's yelling, Gareth still has a calm, collected demeanor. "If you trust no one, how then will you gain allies or friends? The Quest is much more difficult when you stand alone. More to the point, however, she had nothing to gain by walking up to two complete strangers and greeting them, all whilst in a weakened state. And she hasn't done us harm. I see here a girl that's unaware of the many dangers that exist here, and she may very well be lynched. Racist cowards do target those who are unsuspecting or weak, after all." Gareth looked at Evrona with an unwavering gaze. "I'd rather be deceived than sentence an innocent girl to death. And if that's not enough to convince you, look: there are two of us and one of her; we're both armed and she has no weapon. I don't think I should have to go here, but with all due respect, you're the one who's yelling and having an emotional reaction, which tends to cloud the judgment, so if trust is the issue here, it'll be my judgment we'll be trusting."

"Your. Chivalry. Is. Wasted," Evrona repeated, putting emphasis on each word. "Sure, it's a great idea and all, but there's no one more important than yourself. If everyone kept to themselves, then we'd hardly be fighting eachother, now would we? Bonds of trust can be broken all too easily by some people." Grumbling, she held her staff in her hand, moving her hands around to check that still at a moment's notice she could release the blades hidden within. Impatiently, she paced about. "A thing I can agree on, though, is that a quest is much simpler with more than... one...." Her voice trailed off as she noticed that there was something white in the tree.

"You have five seconds until I start throwing rocks," she growled. "One... three...."

"Peace, peace!" Gil said, immediatly gliding down. "Now, I thought I was hidden pretty well, you have a rather keen eye," he said with a kind smile.

"Flattery will get you nowhere," said Evrona, though she lowered her guard.

"I apologize, I should have come forth but I did not want to interrupt such a... heated conversation." Gilantias bowed in apology, and Evrona made a gagging noise, muttering something among the lines of "over-polite angels".

--

Arielli was now extremly nervous. Being around with another angel without Gilantias around... was a tad nervewracking. She glanced over to Iah and noticed the AirCrafted rose behind his ear. He had offered to her eariler, but she'd been too nervous to say anything, and had been busy hiding behind Gil. But, now that she thought about it, the rose was rather beautiful, and she had been rather rude not to say anything.

"U-uhm..." she mumbled. "T-That rose... i-it's v-very pretty."

A small figure hovered over a freshly turned hole, poking her dirt-caked fingers in the overturned earth as if searching for something. Within a few seconds, she smiled and withdrew a rather large dagger which she had dropped on her way out. She returned this to her belt with a triumphant grin and took some time to look around her.

Trees. Trees everywhere. "Oh god oh god oh god," Inha muttered. She hated trees. She quickly dusted herself off and adjusted her belt (which had gotten a lot heavier since the last time she had worn it). She sighed and took a few steps... and heard a shout of anger coming from the forest to her right.

The small dwarf took to all fours and scampered toward the noise, sure to keep silent and hidden. Once she had gotten close enough...
"Your. Chivalry. Is. Wasted," she heard. Oh boy... have I stumbled into an argument?

[For Eclectric: Um, sorry, but please check the OoC forum. I was already accepted the proper way. Try not to post OoC posts in the actual Roleplay, it disturbs the flow. :< I only posted here because I didn't think you'd check the OoC thread without further prompting.

For anyone else, sorry for this post and please ignore it. Dx]

(Eclectric, you should have posted that in the OOC thread, as it had nothing in it relevant to the RP itself. And if you had tried posting it there, you might have noticed that Flora has already submitted her character profile, and Saber Knight has already approved of it. So that is, indeed, how she joins the roleplay.)

"Oh wow, it's an angel!" Kauka momentarily forgot Evrona's displeasure at her bubbly personality and regarded Gil with wide eyes. "Your wings look even larger up close," she told him. "I've only ever seen angels flying overhead, and they're so tiny I can't make out anything, usually. Nice to meet you, Mr. Angel!" Then she glanced at Evrona and snapped her mouth shut.

Iah glanced at Elli when she spoke, then nodded. "Thank you," he said simply before returning to his scrutiny of the sky. After a while, he spoke again. "You seem to be ill at ease. Would you rather stay with Gilantias? I could probably lead you to him."

Wodahny didn't quite hear anything. She didn't see anything either. But her mercenary sense was tingling. Not moving from behind her tree, she looked carefully around herself and the group in front of her. Nothing. She could've sworn she'd just spotted a glimmer of movement from the corner of her eye, though. Something that was moving distinctly unlike an animal. Suppressing a shrug, she returned her attention to Gil and his new...acquaintances. She kept her guard up, however.

(EDIT: Whoops, got ninja'd.)(Point remains, checking the OOC thread is almost as important as reading the roleplay thread itself. Please keep that in mind?)(And Flora, although you know this already and have your reasons for doing so, try not to post OOC in the RP thread without an accompanying post. :x)

"Kauka, if Evrona won't help you get to where you're going, then I will. Clearly Evrona doesn't need anyone's help," Gareth said gently, but you use like you could use a little help and protection while you're traveling. And nice to meet you, Mr...? Gareth asked, looking at the angel.

Inha slowly crept up behind the nearest person, which happened to be someone who looked rather human. She trusted humans more than those... flying-types. After all, it seemed unnatural to get so far off the ground. She hesitated for a few moments before making up her mind.

"Uh... hi," she muttered, tapping casually on the person's leg and fidgeting with the straps of the person's shin guards. She shifted her weight several times, thinking. Should I admit I'm lost?

She looked up and noticed a large angel having landed in front of the group. Instantly: Please don't kill me. and she hid herself as best as she could behind her newly-found wall, using the mercenary's cloak to her advantage.

(Entrance time!)

Mano'kai hummed softly as she continued her walk across the plains, gently gazing at the scene before her, her mind off in the clouds. She hoped to keep her mind calm and at ease in order to dull the itching desire for water. As an excellent WaterCrafter, she had absolutely no skill in magic, therefore was deeply attached to the water through body and mind. She had last felt its cool embrace only twelve hours ago, but the longing was beginning to return. She knew there was a body of water around here somewhere, she just had to keep her cool until she found it. Besides, she'd once gone a whole day without its comfort. She could surely last a few more hours.
Sweeping her sight along the landscape, she suddenly caught the form of what appeared to be a human. Wings...oh, an angel. She concluded. Maybe this angel could help guide her to a source of water.
Kai turned in the direction, also noting another angel's presence, and walked to greet them. Hi. She said to the girl angel. I was wondering if you could help me.

"U-uhm... y-yes..." Arielli stammered in response to Iah's suggestion. Oh, why can't I just do anything right? I must try and... speak more fluently. Arielli cleared her throat. "I-I... I mean.... Yes, I'd a-appriciate it if--eep!" Elli had been too worried trying to form a complete sentence that she hadn't noticed the girl walk up. Surprised by the voice, she ducked behind Iah, shivering.

--

Evrona moaned. Too many people for her liking. I'm not sure the last time I've been around so many people, she thought with disgust.

Turning to Gareth, Gilantias said, "My name is Gilantias." Gil gave a slight bow. "And, I have not the pleasure of your name....."

"Evrona," she said sharply. Gil smiled at the group.

"To think, I had been looking for a quite place to read a good book," he said, reaching into his bag to take out the old manuscript from earlier. "but I think I should enjoy some good compay."

Surprisingly enough, Evrona's eyes widened in surprise as she saw the old tome. Her eyes flickered to the author's name inscribed upon the spine. "Where.... where did you find that?"

Gil looked surprised as well. "Why... in the library. I--" He was interupted when Evrona suddenly dashed over and snatched the book from his hands. "Careful! The binding is fragile!" Evrona appeared not to notice as she flicked through the pages, her eyes scanning the words fervently.

"Can you read that?" Gil finally inquired after a while. Evrona glanced up from the book, looking irritated at being interrupted.

"Yes, yes, I can read angellic." With that, she resumed her fervent reading. After a while, she suddenly snapped the book shut.

"Hmph. That was barely any help at all... however.... hmmmm..." She seemed to have totally forgotten the presense of the others as she began pacing back and forth. "Do I really... must this be.... it could possibly... on the off chance... a lead...." Evrona whirred around to face the group.

"I guess you lot'll have to do," she said with a disapproving grunt. "Wing-boy's book here has... given me an idea." She frowned, as if trying to find the best way to phrase what she was about to say. "Well, I know Wing-boy at least would be interested."

"Wing-boy?" stuttered Gilantias indignatly. Evrona raised an eyebrow.

"Does it really matter? I thought not!" she growled. "This manuscipt mentions a power, as I'm sure our angellic friend has already noticed. And I..." a snide smile crossed Evrona's features, "I think I might just have found my lead.

"However, regrettably, in this sort of thing, I don't believe just one person can suffice. Though I loathe to say it, I think you lot might just be able to help me out... mind you, doesn't mean I'm about to start being nice to you, or anything."

Though he disproved of Evrona's manner, Gil's curiosity was indeed piqued. He had also been looking into this strange power for quite some time. That this girl might have a lead on it was fascinating. "I must say, I am interested."
