((Kako, I'm not sure if you checked the OOC thread, but there I said you could join (where your question should have been posted, just FYI)))

"A-Ah... no.... i-it's just that...."

"She's just skittish. Don't worry about it, nothing bad came of it," Gilantias said with a smile.

"Can't you guys be more quiet? I'm trying to get some rest here." Both Gil and Eli (the latter letting out a small yelp of surprise) turned to see the new speaker.

"My apologies," Gil said with a small dip of his head. "It was not our intention to disturb you, Wise One," he added, polite as ever.

((Griffins are known for their wisdom. Other races normally refer to griffins as "Wise One" if they don't know their name.... well, if they wanna be polite, that is.))

"It's ok. I've not been getting alot of sleep lately so I just got abit snappy when i was disterbed. I should of known better then to try and sleep in a spot that Angles tend to come down and gather." said Kagetsuki. Then he turned to Mevan. "And as for you I don't like being ignored. You could of at least noticed me speaking to you."

Turning back to the other two Angles, "Well now that we have that out of the way, what brings you guys down here?"

Gil shrugged, a process that wasn't all that effective mid-air. "Nothing really, Wise One. We were just trying to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life for a bit," he explained. "Elli and I were just looking for a quiet place to read, right Elli?" Arielli gave a slight nod of acknowledgement.

"Y-yes, Wise One," she stuttered meekly.

"Ah, where are my manners? I believe we haven't been introudced." Gil gave a quick mid-air bow. "My name is Gilantias, and my younger companion here is Arielli," he said, speaking for Arielli knowing that the younger angel would be too frightened to speak for herself.

1: My internet is screwed right now, so I'm not gonna introduce mah person untill I can get a more reliable connection.

2: My character is of a different race from everyone else, so I dunno how I'm going to introduce meselfs or how mah person meets everyone else. So... yeah.))

"Nice to meet you Gilantias and Arielli. My name is Kagetsuki. And yes it is nice to get away from everyone else time to time. And reading is always good. One of the first things young Griffins learn is how to use wind to turn pages. As you can tell it's not an easy task for us."

Mevan listened to the griffin, interested. "I'm sorry. I hope you don't think I was ignoring you, I just didn't hear you speak... I can't hear voices well when there's white noise, such as wind or other people talking, or myself talking. And I apologize for interrupting your nap. I didn't notice you there, you sort of blend in with your surroundings. I hope you don't think ill of me and especially not angels as a whole for my audacity... I'm unusually boisterous and I know it, but it's one of those traits that's hard to change... that and getting excited easily." Mevan looked at Arielli again, an unwavering look in his eye. "Arielli, I know there's something bothering you... I can sense it. There's... some sort of force that's clutched your mind, some troubling thoughts you can't get over... and you seem to be trying to hide it, but it's clearly making you weak, not physically but weak here," Mevan said as he pointed to her heart, "I'm at your service. I will listen and do whatever I can to help you clear your mind. If you want to talk privately, that's fine, or here now is fine as well. If there's anything else you need of me... you have but to ask." Mevan drifted a little closer to Arielli and smiled warmly and reassuringly.

(Sorry, I've been lurking. Read all the posts, told myself "I should post," and promptly ran into writers block 'cause I had no idea how to introduce anyone. >o<)

Iah watched as a glassy filament trailed after his fingertip as he traced it over some unseen pattern in the air in front of him. The thin threads thickened into strips, revealing a large rectangular shape. The angel ran a few gossamer strings straight up and down from the top of the rectangle to the bottom, then lowered his hand and observed his new loom. Satisfied, he drew from a basket a fat skein of silk, dyed pale blue. The loose end he fixed to the loom with a band of air. Then he swiftly fell into the old pattern of over and under, over and under.

Iah was a weaver. He had the patience for it that many others didn't, and one who knew him well could have hazarded a wild guess that he actually enjoyed it. Whatever the reasons for his occupation, he was quite skilled at it, capable of turning out fabric and silk ranging in quality from cheap to decent to extremely fine. He sold his textiles to various clothing shops for a living, though occasionally he took it upon himself to craft clothing out of the stuff to sell at higher prices. His own robes and gloves were hand-spun and hand-crafted, though he'd had to purchase the boots from someone else.

After a few hours, the angel set down his nearly-depleted skein. Running a finger across the edges of the loom, he loosened the warp threads and tugged the square of silk free. He busied himself for the next few minutes finishing off the square, then folded it carefully and tucked it into another compartment of his basket, where several other squares of various colors awaited. Slinging the basket over one arm, he freed the air of his loom to mingle with the rest of the atmosphere and set off. It was time to find a buyer.

Sounds. Voices. Wodahny stirred and opened one eye just a crack. All she saw was the peaked cloth ceiling of her tent. Grumbling, she hauled herself up and crawled to the entrance flap, pushing it out of the way with her stump. It took a few minutes for her to adjust to the bright daylight. Goodness, how long have I overslept? she wondered, berating herself. Then she glanced at the sky and felt her eyebrows shoot almost into her hair. Angels? A griffin? What on Azuri was going on here? Well, she amended, ducking back into her tent to get dressed properly, what was above Azuri was probably a more accurate expression.

Moments later she was back outside, fully clothed and armored. She struggled to pack her tent, but eventually managed it. Slinging the whole bundle over her good shoulder, she walked toward the spot over which the three angels and one griffin were hovering, keeping to the vegetation to try avoiding being seen. It wasn't that often she got to see other races, and she intended to scout them out properly.

In a lonely spot in the desert, beneath a canyon, Ar'roc arranged firewood into teepes, and arranged the tepees in a circle so there was a space within the circle. He got undressed and threw his clothes so they were far away from the wood. He then poured lantern oil on the wood, drenching it completely. He grabbed his sword and with his magic he created a flame around the sword. After pausing a moment, watching the fire, he touched the wood with the sword and the wood all caught on fire, the flame traveling around the circle until it was all inflamed. He then tossed his sword aside, and the flame on the sword disappeared as he did so. He rubbed lantern oil onto himself and then stepped into the circle, catching flame as soon as he did so. He sat in the flame and folded his legs, and closed his eyes as he began to meditate. The fire didn't harm or effect him at all. The oil burned and the wood burned, but he didn't burn at all.
"Ahh... that feels good..." he said as he fire-bathed, the fire cleaning him.

Mevan heard Wodahny moving below, and looked down curiously at her. "Hello there~" Mevan greeted chipperly.

Arielli also heard movement below. Nervously, she tugged on Gilantias' sleeve. When he turned to look at her, she pointed down. "I h-heard something..." she mumbled softly. Gil raised an eyebrow, but then he perked up his keen ears. Moments later, he heard something as well.

"Hmmm.... whatever's down there seems too big to be a rabbit," he observed. Unconsciously, his hand had gone to the hilt of the sword strapped to his side. "Let's see who's down there..." After thinking for a few moments, a smile broke across Gil's face and he cracked his knuckles. "This oughta do the trick to show us whoever's hiding down there."

Gil took a deep breath, then extend his hands foward with sudden speed. A giant, powerful gust of air shot from his hands, rustling up all of the vegetation below, exposing anyone who might not want to be seen.

Drat, Wodahny thought gloomily as she clung to a sapling with her good arm. Spotted already. Gilanthas' wind snatched up the edges of her cape and pulled it behind her. She knew there was no chance of hiding her right arm when the fabric was streaming out at a 90 degree angle, so she didn't bother trying. Instead, she waited for the wind to settle before letting go of the harassed-looking tree and tugged her cape back into position. Then she glared up at the angels. "I can't say that was the best greeting I've ever recieved," she snapped. "And that wind of yours would have scared off anything edible within a mile radius or so. That makes getting breakfast rather hard for me, as you'd imagine." Let them think I was keeping quiet because I was hunting. She wasn't lying, quite. The instant before her cover had been blown, she'd realized just how hungry she was. Not having had a proper dinner the night before certainly didn't help.

"Here you go, Lepus." Iah set his basket on the counter. "I've brought some more."
"Hm." The clothing shop owner inspected the silk. Neatly stacked below them were several similarly folded squares of fabric. "I must say, Iah, I'm quite glad there are people like you around. Most of us angels are so busy reading and being scholarly we forget the small essentials. Not that reading or being scholarly is a bad thing," he added with a smile. He lifted out all of the silk and some of the fabric. "I think I'll purchase these," he announced. "Granites at the general shop down the street would probably be interested in your other work. As you may recall, he sells raw materials for would-be tailors."
"Yes."
"Jolly good." Lepus flashed him another smile. "Here's your payment." As Iah accepted the coins and tucked them into a small purse inside his basket, Lepus moved the textiles off the counter and onto some shelf hidden from sight. "Thank you for coming," the angel called, bowing slightly. Iah nodded and walked back out of the shop.

~ A few minutes later (I'm sure you don't want to read more pointless dialogue than you already have)

After dropping his basket off at his house, Iah decided the day was too nice to spend weaving more silk, so he stretched his wings and took off. Unlike some angels, he kept his wings out all the time, for reasons he kept to himself.
He closed his eyes and let the wind trail through his long hair. After a while he felt something, rather like a shudder. Opening his eyes, he flapped his wings quickly and shot up just in time to avoid a strong blast of air coming from above. Glancing up, he spotted a few other angels and a griffin.

(( :P. It's fine. ))

Gil pushed his glasses up the bridge of his nose. "Well, I apologize for the inconvenience," he stated. His eyes flicked over to Arielli. She had a small frown on her face. "Well?" he whispered to her.

"It's... not enteirly a lie," she whispered back. "But it really isn't the truth either. I-I'm sorry, I can't tell."

"Look, having a conversation at this distance isn't quite polite, I should say," Gil called down to the girl with a smile. He began to glide down, but Arielli tugged nervously at his sleeve. "What?" he inquired. Elli pointed wordlessly, and Gil turned to see another angel. "Hm, looks like there's quite the crowd here today. To think that we left to find a quiet place to read!"

"U-uh... w-why don't we just get out of here?" Elli suggested nervously, her eyes flicking from person to person nearby. "I-It'll just solve any p-problems..."

"Elli, don't worry. With me, your saftey is assured," Gil said confidently, turning to the other angel. "You're welcome to come converse with us," he said with a smile. With that, he flew down (slightly dragging Elli along with him) to the ground. "My name is Gilantias, and my younger companion is Arielli," he said with a smile to the woman.

((Uhm, yeah, basically, Arielli can sort of see lies. Just part of her magic.))

"Well, this place is getting crowed." Kagetsuki said to himself. "Well I shall take my leave now. Nice to meet you all." Kagetsuki said. Then he started to fly away from the group. He wasn't going to get any more rest here. He might as well head home.

Mevan suddenly looked very irritated, and frowned. "Nice seeing you, Gil. I can't stay here any longer," *huff* I wasn't expecting this sort of... impasse." Mevan then turned and flew away, back towards the forest.
