KotF 2009 is over! I hope everyone had a good time and enjoyed the significant upswing in forum activity. Let's all try to keep them nice and active (though probably not this active) for the rest of the year.

Anyway, although KotF is finished I still have to score the last batch of posts, total everyone's scores, and make the prize images for the winners before I can announce the final totals. Expect the winners (and everyone's final scores) to be posted sometime tomorrow.

Sorry. Meant to get this up earlier but my school project took a while and then I got distracted with some other things.

Anyway, KotF had a pretty good run this year. It was busier than last year, though still nowhere near as busy as the first year. The final scores were even closer than I thought but the winners are...

So, a quick run down of how things went before I post everyone's scores... The contest started off with Marley clearly dominating. He had a big lead for quite a while but then his computer broke and some other people started getting serious and catching up. BFC and Phonox were in really close competition for quite a while, going back and forth between first and second. Around that time Astral, Gar, and Sira were also in a pretty tight race for third but then Gar went off on his trips and Sira stopped posting as much as she had been and Saber took the lead. However, a couple of big things happened a little while later. First, BFC (who had been in the lead), got grounded and hardly posted at all after that. Phonox was rather slow to take advantage of it, but he did eventually reclaim the lead. Meanwhile Astral returned to the forums and jumped into the contest with a vengence. She and Saber were in a close race for third for a while and I thought that they'd end up in third and forth with Phonox and BFC in the top two, but Astral surprised me. She had the highest number of normal posts of anyone this year and a pretty sizable number of game posts as well (though still far behind BFC and Phonox (who just beat out BFC for the most game posts)) which, combined with her strong performance on the last two bonus challenges and her bonus points for have the 4999 post in Count to 5000, allowed her to edge out BFC for second place. Saber, despite her excellent performance in the last bonus challenge, just didn't post enough towards the end and wasn't able to beat BFC, leaving her in fourth. Silver and Poik put in pretty strong performances towards the end as well, but not nearly enough to get in the top three considering how late they started.

If anyone was wondering, I did give out some bonus awards. They were mostly a few points here and there for what I considered particularily good posts but Saber also got a nice chunk of points for posting in the Saying Hi thread every single day of the contest, Silver got some for helping to count posts, and the people who made the last few posts leading up to 5000 in Count to 5000 got some points for that. Oh, and Gar got points for getting the 15,000th post in Saying Hi. But anyway, final scores. From highest to lowest...

Yeah, I know you explained it.. My question was more a hypothetical exclamation of disbelief than an actual question...

Wait, there's more prizes than just a pretty graphic and a title? WHOA I forgot about that.. decisions decisions..

Oh I looked at the first post again and ACK! What to choose!? At first I thought I'd just go the cash and donate it to PVF since I was just in it for the fun (and maybe the sig graphic) anyway but the copy of the book is very temting...Book looks awesome...

My only issue with that is I live so far away... how much would postage cost? >.< I don't want you spending a fortune to send me the book.

Maybe if you find out how much postage is and I could pay it by paypal for you if it's too much.. or ... something...idk

Or I could just say donate the $15 to... GAH! I am so bad at decisions!

I want to book but I don't want a heap to be spent on postage...
