I wonder who actually goes "Hey, I might want to buy a vending machine from a suspicious Russian site posted by a spambot!"

The vending machine was not the same spambot as the Russian one.

I had heard of them mentioned before, but I'd never seen a real spambot. They're scary up close O.O

Okay not Scary, but it's annoying not being able to see where people have posted and where is free to post.

Before the forums were upgraded, we got swarmed with them once someone figured out how to make a bot that could get through new user sign up process for phpbb2. I stopped them by requiring admin activation of all new user accounts but we were getting so many spam accounts that it was really time consuming for me to sort them all. Eventually I got a plug in that changed the sign up process, which confused the bots so they couldn't get through. The currenty forums are phpbb3, which has better new user sign up security than 2 did, which is why we were fine for a while. I'm guessing someone finally figured out how to make a bot that could break the new system so lots of phpbb3 forums are getting spammed now. I'll be looking for a way to modify the sign up process to stop the bots again as soon as I have time.

I saw the member info. it might be a spam bot leader or something. they usually don't have avatars do they?

Actually, all of the recent ones have. Even the Russian ones had avatars.
"Irregardless" and "Over exaggerated" are NEVER CORRECT EVER because they are redundant
Regardless means "without regard", and adding "ir" on the front actually makes it a double negative; exaggerate means "to overstate" so you're literally saying "over overstate."
Example: I can not exaggerate the importance of this fact enough, regardless of how often people ignore it.
