Today...sucked. I'm in a really bad mood right about now.

In Phsycial Sci., we got a test back. Before handing it out, she warned us all that they were bad, no one got an A. But, she also allowed us to spend the entire class correcting them (in order to get back half credit), but we could only use the textbook and our notes, no talking to each other. We could also ask her questions which she may or may not asnwer. I got a 60/78....do the math yourself. Ugh. Well, I asked her about this one question (worth 4 points) and she was all "look at the thing I drew on the board", which didn't help me at all. I eventually figured it out, but only because I realized how poorly worded the question was. Sooo...not happy there. I don't think I'm getting all points (well, half) back...

Then, there was a meeting for all people intrested in trying out for softball. They handed us the tryout schedule for JV/Varsity, Freshmen tryouts being the next week. I'm probably gonna go to JV/Varsity as well, just to give it a shot. However, the 2nd day of tryouts (Tuesday) directly conflicts with a band concert. Like, tryouts are 6:00 - 8:30, and I have to report to the concert at 6:00 to warmup for a concert at either 7 or 7:30. In the concert, I'll have to play for both marching band and concert band. So, someone else from marching band talked to the coach, and she told me that they had the same conflict last year. The coach just said to come to however much of the tryouts you can. Last year, though, they didn't have to report early for rehersal, so they went to tryouts, rushed to go be in marching band, then rushed back. Sadly, I'm also in concert band (though no one would notice if I wasn't there, honestly. There are so many trumpets this semester), which would prolly mean I had to stay at the concert longer. So, my parents are telling me to contact the coach to tell her about my conflict. I guess I probably should, it's just that my friend already mentioned the conflict, but my parents want me to make sure that the coach knows who I am and that I care. Ugh...now I have to go find that teacher wherever she may be and talk to her. Blarg.

And, we just got course selection sheets for sophomore year. My parents are telling me to arrange a meeting with my guidance concellor. Blarg. I've never met her. Most kids at the beginning of the year had meetings with their councellors arranged by the councellors, but mine was on maternal leave. I'm not sure if she's back yet or not. My mom is freaking out about it, though. I probably shouldn't be so upset, but she was just aggrivating me so much...gah...

And, also, to top it off, yesterday in gym I ended up having to carry someone across the gym on my back while moving at a snail's pace (I really don't feel like explaining the activity we had to do). Now, both my arms are really sore.

Yeah, I know. These reasons are kinda lame, but they're just aggrivating me so bad. I felt like crying a few minutes ago. Maybe I'm just too stressed, as usual.

It's not strange for a bunch of annoying events to put you in a bad mood. I wasn't in the best mood yesterday evening since I spent a couple of hours driving around to all these book stores and none of them had Hunter x Hunter 24.

Well, I'm finally done my week of pain and torment. Three midterms and an essay due within tuesday and today. Not fun at all. Just to bring my spirits down even lower, my bio teacher (The tuesday midterm) somehow got all the tests marked and posted online thursday night. In my excitement, I went and checked it only to find I got a 44% So yeah, not a good week. Maybe now that I have time to relax and breathe a bit I can cheer up.

Wow, with all the unhappy feelings around here I almost feel bad for not feeling bad.

Although some stuff has happened at work while I wasn't posting that made me want to shove the chef's head inthe deep fryer

Basically he stuffs things up occasionally and them blames me. lLike tells me I havn't written the order clearly enough to understand when it's perfectly clear what the customer is asking for.

One night he said soemthing that particularly made me angry. I ranted to like 2-3 people about it (staff) and AND I was rude to him.

I'm still not sorry for being so nasty, but he DESERVED it.

But other than annoying kitchen staff and the odd little thing I've been happy.

Happy is good.

Oh boy. I've played this game before. But now I'm in the sidelines.

So I now have 3 friends (more like 2 and a half) who are abused by their parents and openly admit it. One's my ex, and the others are dating. The other two just got the girl of the relationship in trouble with her mother. They were talking after school, at her house, about how she's planning to get emancipated. So when the mother catches them, she forbids him from ever talking to her again. That's as much as I know, from his immediate call to me for help. Other than my ex is calling repeatedly to try to find out if she's alright, and she thinks he wants to contact her for selfish reasons apparently. He wanted me to give him a ride back to make sure she's okay.
Frankly, I think it was blown out of proportion, but I don't know the mother. Anyway, there's nothing he could have done, he admits, and I told him she'll be okay, which I'm almost positive about. And I feel myself being dragged into this kicking and screaming from a mile away.

Great kid, the boy is, for a case study at least... I can't say I don't like him, but a lot of people avoid him like the plague, so the fact that I don't has made him cling to me like a father. It's really creepy.

But aside from silly High School dramas, I was in a good mood today for once. Been stuck in my head for nearly a week now, and believe me, it's not a pretty place.

Well, it's good that you're not stuck in the middle of things this time. Not really sure what to say, other than you might want to find a psychiatrist that you can start refering some of your friends too.

Though, if you know kids are really are getting abused by your parents you could consider contacting the proper authorities about it.

Do you know what you have to go through with those? Well, in these cases the abuse is emotional and psychological, so that would be the hell they're facing. You can't convince the authorities of psychological abuse. Trust me, I've tried.

Although I think one of them might be physically abused, I have no proof myself.

The kid's helpline here is a service that kids can ring and it's pretty much like councelling (as far as the ads say. I've never rang it.)) You just kinda ring and talk. But I'm sure they can contact the people required if it's too bad...

I mean what's it like where you are? With those sort of services and stuff..

I think there is one. But, like most things around here, that's for physically abused children. Because psychologists haven't proved that emotional abuse can be just as damaging yet.

Mostly, here, you have to go through guidance counselors at school and therapists. I don't know a good local therapist, but the guidance counselors at our school are really bad at their jobs. I'm sorry to rag on them, but there isn't more than one kid in the school who disagrees.

The guidance Councillor at my high school sucked (until the new guy came along in about yr 11-12). He couldn't speak English very well (and I hope that doesn't make me sound racist, I mean I can deal with people who don’t speak English 100% quite well but...) so when I went to ask him about careers information once, he answered with great authority... but nothing that he told me actually answered the question I asked. But he waffled so I just wanted to get out of there. It was as if he didn’t actually understand what I asked.

He was also smug, and according to Mum (who did some work in the school's library for a few years) he was also sexist and arrogant.

And this is a person that is supposed to be HELPING people. Nobody wanted to speak to him, so most people just went to the school chaplain. I mean sure, his main job's supposed to be for religious support, but he was awesome and really listened. He even had some awesome advice regarding what you wanted to know about. He was a better guidance councillor than the guidance councillor.

Aaaand I've lost the point. Right. Emotional abuse not as damaging as physical abuse?! That's stupid! Often emotional wounds are a lot harder to heal than a cut or a bruise. Perhaps the PSYCHOLOGISTS should be the ones getting their heads checked!

That was partly sarcasm. Psychologist have proven that emotional abuse is bad. Real bad. It's just non-science psychologists, such as therapists, don't get that memo as far as I know.

That doesn't make you sound racist. In truth, a person whose job it is to interact with others should at least know the typical language the interaction will take place in is what I say. But I also think that teachers of foreign language should know the language they teach, so what do I know?

My mum's german teacher was english. And mum corrected her a few times on some things like pronunciation because she got a german guy at the stamp club her dad went to to help her with her homework and stuff^^

I was lucky at school to have my Korean teacher be from Korea. She was the best teacher ever^^ She'd tell funny stories and jsut be generally cool. She was very petite, always had awesome clothes and.. well I reckon she looked like an anime girl cuz she was alway so cute. Wait, I'm off topic again. Basically she knew Korean because it was her first language.

.. this has become less of a rant thread and more of a discussion one now hasn't it? Or more the case the ramble thread.
