Wait, wouldn't your brother be your nephew since the egg belonged to you're sister? Marina said confused. Then the corrupted came in the room tied up and being led by Marilus, who shifted some dog ears and tail onto his body for comical effect. They both sat down at the table and Marilus loosened the rope enough so the corrupted could eat. The stepmother then spoke to the corrupted. You poor girl, did that monster harm you in anyway? Here, have some extra soup! Marina only rolled her eyes at this moment.
Wow Clarissa, I'm pretty sure Father and I agreed on you visiting was so you could learn to be less of a witch toward nonhumans,half-humans and former half-humans like myself.

Agnamatus was so busy eating his soup that he didn't even notice that Marina's step-mother was with them. However, he forgot all about his meal when he noticed her getting friendly with their prisoner. "Hey, what are you doing!" he shouted, and pushed the stepmother away from the corrupted one. "Obviously, no one told you what's going on yet. Well, it's time to rectify that."
"And why should I listen to whatever a freak like you has to say?" she retorted.
"Because this concerns more then just your petty little quest for superiority or purification or whatever you're trying to acheave!" Agnamatus yelled. "Marina and her companions are Saber Knights, chosen by one of the gods or goddeses from our respective dimensions so that we can protect them from people like her," he yelled pointing at the Corrupted One, "who seek to cause chaos and destruction. We just recently faught her, and let me tell you, she was not an easy foe. So get yourself away from her before you do something stupid!" The witch was struck speachless, but Agnamatus didn't have a chance to appreciate the affect he had on her after he collapsed out of exaustion.

Eskay had been happily eating her soup when the Corrupted One sat at the table. She froze, and dropped her spoon into her bowl. It fell with a clatter, and splashed some soup onto Eskay, which she didn't seem to notice. "Are you mad?" Eskay hissed, really to no one in particular. "Are you honestly letting her out here?"

For her part, the Corrupted One just sat at the table. She didn't meet eye contact with anyone, but kept her chin up high, and made no movement upon hearing Eskay's comments. She just sat there.

Not caring whether it was rude or not, Eskay continued to stare at the prisoner. For a moment, the girl's eyes flicked over and met Eskay's, but then she stared back into nothingness. It was starting to become aggrivating.

After some time of a one-sided staring contest, Eskay became aware of Agnamatus' angry shouting.

"Marina and her companions are Saber Knights, chosen by one of the gods or goddeses from our respective dimensions so that we can protect them from people like her who seek to cause chaos and destruction."

Upon hearing these words, the Corrupted One faltered for a moment. She blinked in surprise, and almost looked as if she were about to cry, but soon the mask she had on earlier returned, and she resumed her pose. Hm... Eskay thought to herself. I wonder....what was that about? I wonder if anyone else noticed...

Azriel did his best to keep track of what was going on, but a lot was happening in a relatively short time. "I apologize for not bursting into tears after hearing your tragic past, but I've heard more sob stories than that," he told Haddix dryly, pausing to finish off his bowl. "I came from a world that wasn't very kind. And since you asked, I'm Azriel. Grim Angel from Asgard." Setting down his spoon, he glanced at the Corrupted One, who was conveniently straight across him. He had barely opened his mouth before Agnamatus exploded at Marina's stepmother and then promptly collapsed. Azriel sighed. "You all right, Agnamatus? Didn't hit your head on anything? You were quite close to the table." He got up from his seat and walked over to the Olympian. "Oi, someone help me get him somewhere he can rest properly. The guy's been pretty badly beat, and I'm not nearly strong enough to lift him by myself."
As he waited for someone to volunteer, he looked back at the Corrupted One. He hadn't missed her reaction. One didn't live long in a world of demons without being attentive. "So, you. Uh, Corrupted One. Feel like telling us your name? We can't just keep calling you 'Corrupted One,' and I don't think you like being called such either. And while we're on the topic, would you consider not being a Corrupted One anymore, or is that not possible? Those shadowy figures DID make it clear that they weren't pleased with you."

"I'll help," said Haddix. "Oh, and the egg hasn't hatched yet," he said, addressing Marina, "This really is my brother. Now then, does anyone else have a story, or is it all shadowy pasts?" he said, addressing everyone, even the CO, "Because I'm trying to be social, and I've never been any good at it." He then helped lay Matus on a couch. "Oh, and could my brother please have some soup?"

"Yeah!" Ghendike chimed in.

"OOOH! You want some ice for that BURN!?!?!" Marley said to the step-mother

"Er...sorry. Don't think I'd be much help carrying Tall Guy over there," Eskay said with a shrug. "I'm....not as tall or as strong as other people present." she explained sheepishly. Elves were known for their speed rather than their strength.

"So, you. Uh, Corrupted One. Feel like telling us your name? We can't just keep calling you 'Corrupted One,' and I don't think you like being called such either. And while we're on the topic, would you consider not being a Corrupted One anymore, or is that not possible? Those shadowy figures DID make it clear that they weren't pleased with you."

With a raised eyebrow, Eskay looked back over to the Corrupted One. "Well, you gonna say anything?" she asked.

Hesitation flickered across the Corrupted One's eyes. She opened her mouth to speak several times, but then seemed to think better of it and snapped her jaw shut.

After repeating this several times, the Corrupted One finally decided to speak. "You and your companions are...Saber Knights, correct." It was more of a statement than a question, but Eskay responded nevertheless.

"That seems like an odd question. You fought against us, remember?" Eskay said, a bit irritably.

"Ah...but not all present are Saber Knights." Again, it was a statement.

"Yeah," Eskay responded. "What are you getting at?"

"I...will speak. But...only if the audience is composed of Saber Knights. No one else." The Corrupted One stated, and she was silent again.

"You're not really in the position to be making demands like that." Eskay told the girl. She made no response. Although, to Eskay, getting rid of all the non-Saber Knights did seem like a good idea. Marina's stepmother was really getting on her nerves. It was a good excuse to get rid of her. "Well, I think it's a good idea," Eskay muttered, to soft for the stepmother to hear. Then, louder, she added, "It's the only way to hear what she has to say. I don't think this should be a problem."

You heard what she said Clarissa, and while you're in this castle you listen to me. Flame, Marilus,you leave too. Tell Steve I'll see him later. Marilus and Flame both grabbed the Stepmother before she could protest and left the room, dragging the woman behind them. She really didn't like giving orders to her freinds but she knew Clarissa would use this information against her father.even finding a way to remove the memorial near the entrance.
Okay, tell us what you know Corrupted One. Marina said.

Sira finished her soup as she watched the commotion with increasing confusion. Marina's a werewolf? Wow, that's odd. I wonder when it happened.
Now, this Corrupted One, was she their enemy? If so, why was she eating with them, and getting sympathy from the stepmother?
Well, not that she's a great judge of character.
If the Corrupted One was willing to explain herself, she saw no reason to not comply.
Thanks for the soup, Flame! It was really good. She called after Flame as she left the room.

The Corrupted One watched the people depart from the room impassively. She paused for a minute or so after everyone was gone, as if to assure they had truely departed, before she cleared her throat to speak.

"I want you to all know that I don't trust the lot of you," she began firmly.

"Nice way to start a conversation..." Eskay muttered to herself.

"I...my name is Serifina." she said after another pause, "And I'd appriciate if you'd stop calling me 'Corrupted One'." she added with a frown. "Corrupted One...is not exactly a term I desire."

Serifina gave a small sigh. "It's extremly complicated."

"Everything seems to be these days," Eskay replied.

"My memory...is patchy. Bits and pieces just seem to be gone. It's hard to make sense of what's happened." Again, she paused, as if trying to figure out how to word what she wanted to say. "You and your crew don't seem to know too much about us...Corrupted Ones, if you will. From what I've heard...you believe the Corrupted Ones to be monsterous killing machines, am I not correct?" Without waiting for an answer, she continued. "As I said...it's really much more complicated. Being a Corrupted One...it isn't just a choice to become 'evil incarnate'. It's...." She trailed off with a wince, clutching her head. "Ah...."

Seraphina...nice name. Does it come from "seraph", "fiery one"? Sira thought to herself as she listened in on Seraphina's story.

"And I'd appriciate if you'd stop calling me 'Corrupted One'." she added with a frown. "Corrupted One"...is not exactly a term I desire."

Well, who would? She noticed Seraphina was starting to feel pained, but Sira had to ask her question. So, were you forced to be a Corrup... Uh, you know? Or did you make the decision?

Interesting, Seraphina, but why? Who's making you do this?

I'm familiar with the memory loss, I'm still trying to figure out what happened when I first became a were. Marina said thinking about the the event two years before becoming a knight when two different weres attacked her, and waking up in the morning covered in blood. Hopefully she does not remember my full-beast form.

Serafina seemd to be in her own world, and ignored the questions asked of her. "Before I was....I was originally....I used to be...." She frowned, seeming to look for a proper way to word what she wanted to say, then sighed and continued. "I wasn't always a...Corrupted One." She said the term with strong dislike, as if it pained her to say it. "There was a period of time...when I was a Saber Knight and not..." Again, she trailed off, and Eskay knew she had been about to say 'and not a Corrupted One'.

"I was...young...naive. I thought I was....stronger than I was. I believed...too highly of myself. It's...how everything went wrong..." Serafina paused once again and closed her eyes, as if to remember a past memory. "There was a fight...I lost....and...." Suddenly, she stiffened, and shook her head.

"I have...nothing more to say to you," she said, her voice suddenly cold. A shocked look crossed Eskay's face. Why the so sudden change in character? She wondered silently. Weirdo....

"Oi....this is...confusing to say the least," Eskay said, glancing over to Serafina, but she still kept her mouth shut. "Er...ah...I think I'll just go back to eating my soup....." Eskay mumbled, disliking the silence that had ensued after Serafina finished speaking.
