Hey, it's not a bad thing that you can write well. I tend to start stories and never get around to finishing them. >>
I can't really say my plots are all that original, either...So I stick to drawing fanart or my own characters. Even then, I didn't consider myself "good" at drawing until...oh...junior year, and I'd been trying to draw people "manga style" since elementary school. If you want to improve on your drawing, though, I'd say just draw a lot, look at reference pictures, use yourself as a model, and maybe take a look at one of those "How to draw" books. Even though the book I was using wasn't that great, it got me started on measuring out body proportions and paying attention to the shapes of the body (which tend to change depending on the pose, something I hadn't taken into account prior to ninth grade).
Most importantly, though, you need to have fun and to like drawing to improve. One of my friends doesn't like his art style, feels ashamed when he does draw anything, and so made up his mind that he doesn't like drawing. Hasn't improved at all in the four years I've known him.

Well, I guess I can doodle okay-ish, but the fact that I can't color my stuff really tends to get me down. I look at all of the awesome colorings, and get really jealous.

Yeah, my friend has a bunch of those "how to draw books". She always brings some to camp, where I see her, and we always find some time to draw. She's much better than me, and her mom's even better. Her mom's an art teacher, so yeah.

Actually, the other day I was thinking about how I've never finished a story, so I decieded to write a short story. It ended up being about 3,500-ish words long, but I actually finished!

Concerning drawing, I can make pretty well-made pictures if I take my time. Unfortunately, I'm very impatient and I half-arse most of my work. Writing, I can make pages of a story as long as I'm allowed to go my own direction with it.

In fact I wrote a short story for the QCS test! And I got an A on that test^^

I swear, it's a common steryotype that girls have better handwriting. Well, I am the biggest counterexample. My handwriting is atrocious! Heck, my seven year old sister has better handwriting than me.
Really. If someone says they have bad handwriting, I can comfort them saying "mine's worse."
I've had to re-do a few things because my handwriting sucked too much.
I should send a scan in of my handwriting....but I won't....cuz I have to go to school in a few minutes.

I have to write orders on sheets of paper and take them into the kitchen for the chefs to cook them. I have been called back a few times and the chef's gone "what's that word?" and I've gone " It's not bacon, it's mushroom"

Yeah, I have no idea where that stereotype came from about girls having better handwriting. No one, sometimes not even me, can read my handwriting. That's why I type most of my assignments. On the bright side I now have a good WPM average

I love to draw, but I'm not sure if I'm good at it. I was thinking about making an art thread, seeing as I've got time to draw with a four day weekend.

Hi! Thanks to the classes I took in college, I can draw surprisinly well if I have good reference material. Without a good reference, it's iffy. Also, for me to draw something good takes forever. My quick drawings aren't very good. I know I'd improve significantly if I worked at it and drew a lot, but there's always other stuff I'd rather do. Plus, I know that, even if I got really serious about drawing, it would be years before I could compete with the people who have been drawing seriously most of their lives. So I'd rather just stick to writing, which I've been doing seriously for most of my life, and am quite good at (if I do say so myself).

Ah, Stevenson always tells me that I'm dilligent to continue writing after I lost all my fingers in a tragic accident. As soon as my scanner works, I'll show you why. I can read your handwriting. Sometimes I can't read mine. That is if I don't already know what I've written.
Some of my teachers required I type my work. I could count the number of assignments I didn't rewrite on my hand in 6th grade. Not really, but it was pretty close.
