If you've having that much trouble just turn the difficulty to easy and/or change your level to as high as you can go (it'll kill your drops but meh). If you can't beat him on easy at your highest level you've got some some serious problems. He's really not one of the harder bosses. Just remember to equip clothes with good ATK and DEF boosts and eat as much as you can.

Yeah...I definitely didn't understand the power of eating, and skipped it entirely in the first 2 weeks. Not a good idea?

FYI: All you level changes is your max HP. But level 9 is pretty low for a first play through (on my second play through I was able to beat nearly everything on leve 11 without much trouble but I had eaten a lot and had seriously better gear by then. For a first playthrough, especially if you haven't eaten much, you probably should keep you level any more than 10-20 below the max (left number is your current level, right is your max possible level on the slider) if you're mostly playing on Hard.

As for eating, you can't get really serious about it till midway through Week 2 anyway (cause of where the shops are) and it'll likely be a while longer before you can get the really good foods but there's never a reason not to be eating something, particularily ATK, DEF, and Brave boosts (HP isn't bad either but not quite as important as the others).

Like I said before, turning down the difficulty would make things significantly easier as well. Easy is very easy, and Normal is pretty easy too.

...wait. Joshua did kill me. And now he's gonna do it again. Ohh, Mr. H is stopping him... or laughing with him. OH NO OH NO NOT THE SCRAMBLE CROSSING AGAIN. Neku puts it in the right words for me.

Err, the voice acting is great at the end with Neku then the awesome partner voices. Seeing Rhyme again made me happy. And seeing Shiki real. And seeing Neku trash his phones. It was great, and now I'm on the secret reports~

So that was a fun game. Not over yet, though.

FYI: Once you get all the secret reports (including the one in Another Day) an extra scene is added to the ending.

Boost your stats via eating and better clothes, have Joshua always use his air attacks (as opposed to standing on the ground), and have Neku use pins that can do a lot of hits really fast. And, of course, have a good pin with the healing drink ability and possibly a back up heal as well (an auto healer or a healing barrier).
