I've had a sip of wine before, and I really didn't like the taste. The taste was very strong.
On the note of drinking, personally I don't do it and I have absolutely zero intention on ever starting, but nearly everyone I know does, and I'm not the type to impose on others anyways. If you want to get drunk, it's your choice, just try not to let it get too far.

Well, there are a few i'd suggest, but i'd watch a few just so you think there okay.

'Read or Die the TV', 'Oh My Goddesses' (may be to main stream, but you may just get away with it),

Any of the studio ghibli http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Studio_Ghibli movies should be okay, there is also Haibane Renmei, Fruits Baskit and maybe Scrapped Princess. i'd also suggest Murder Princess, but it could be considered violent, so i'd check it out first.

It was lonely... you promised you'd write to me, but you never did... the months passed by, and I still thought of you every day, but you never called. I never got any letters from you.

So eventually, I started to lose faith... I thought you had been killed in that terrible, terrible war. Or maybe that you had forgotten about me. It's been so long, you probably found another girl over there... I never stopped loving you, but I didn't think you cared about me anymore, so welcoming you back just would have been too painful for me... I'm sorry. I'm glad you've come back home *sniff*

My friend got a lite and gave me his old one because mine broke (i'm still convinced it was sabotaged by an idiot by the way it happened, dunno why he didn't steal it).

Oi. Alcohol. Good CD image program I hear. But as far as that goes, I'm curious, yet disgusted. Alcoholics disgust me, especially since I've had so many family deaths due to alcohol and cigarettes. We're convinced we have a genetic tendency to addictions, whatever the scientific debate decides. But I'm curious about what the deal is. I have had communion wine before and it was like weird grape juice, and I've had a sip of champagne once and didn't like it. If I can have fun at a party without it, what's the big deal on the "beer buzz," knowing already, full out drunkenness is lame.

But I don't care that much. It's better to leave that untouched I think.

Hey...
I'm really upset. My trumpet has a boo-boo. Eddie (my section leader for Marching Band) took my trumpet (stole, rather) to put the lyre in (even though I already knew how....). When he gave it back, I tried to play the 3rd valve and it didn't go down. It was completly stuck.
I gave my trumpet to my band teacher, and he (using pliers because it was majorly stuck) took off the bottom part of the 3rd valve so we could get the 3rd valve out. Now, the bottom part refuses to go back on. I sat there for about 6 minutes trying to get the stupid thing back on.
What's really getting me down is I put the 3rd valve back in after putting on some valve oil, and it went down. But, I still can't get the bottom part back on.
I'm probably gonna have to bring my trumpet to a shop..... ::-( It's really depressing....my poor trumpet!
Ah....I'm really sad....I probably should be taking better care of my trumpet...I didn't even name her! I'm a terrible person!
So...yeah...kinda glum right now.
May the Triforce be with you.

Hi! Actually Shauni, Azumanga Daioh is fairly mainstream, great show though. I few recommendations I'd give Silver are: Akazukin Chacha (a kids' comedy, cause it's hillarious and someone in the world besides me really should watch it), Beck (about a rock band (not the real band Beck), very good), Kino's Journey (makes you think), Detective Academy Q (cause mysteries are fun), and Zegapain (seems like a generic mech show for the first few episodes but gets really interesting, and also rather depressing, later on).

Well, I'm flying out early tomorrow morning. As I said, I'll get on when I can. And I'll make sure to get a Portal Panic update in before I leave.

Heso!

Okay Movings over! we got everything packed up and moved in 2 days, technically 1 day counting the actual hours spent packing and moving... It's just the unpacking... it's always the unpacking...

Silver, have you tried Kiba, King of Bandit Jing, Last Exile and The .hack// series. I'm not exactly sure how mainstream they are but they are good.

And Alcohol... Hehehe, well I currently work as an apprentice chef at a night/strip club (I hide in the kitchen)... Currently Toby has made it his mission to get me drunk. So far it isn't working, and it never will. Mainly because I don't like the idea of having no control over my actions, and I don't drink enough to get drunk in the first place.
Also I don't like the taste of a lot of alcohol, I've found some I like... and they all happen to have coke in them as in coka-cola.

Stonefish and the poison thing that lives in a shell

Dunno why I started drinking...I guess it's a social type thing....
I never liked it, than I just started, and I have fun. Sure, I sometimes wake up and go 'ah crap, what the **** did I do last night..." But I see it as life experience. Can't die without getting your feet wet.

At least I don't smoke / do drugs >> That's something I stay away from.

Touhou isn't very mainstream...but it's technically not an anime but a doujin game series.

Does it count? >_>

In Gym today, we did high jump. I wasn't using the correct technique, apparently I was doing the Barrel Roll! Which made my day. Also I'm doing well in all my classes this year, which is good.

Konbanwa. First day of classes today. Quite hectic for me. I got up at 7, didn't realize 'til I put my contact lenses on that it was actually 7:30 and that my alarm clock was really slow, walked really fast halfway across campus (involving a lot of stair-climbing) to get to my first class. It turned out to be canceled because it's a discussion session, and since we haven't had a lecture yet, there was nothing to discuss. So I walked all the way back to my dorm (which is on the third floor of the building), dropped off my bag, went to the dining hall to get a decent breakfast. Left my ID card (which is also my method of payment for meals) at my dorm, so I had to sprint back to my room, grab it, and sprint back to the dining hall (which has its own set of stairs). After I paid for my meal, I went back to my room, realized I dropped my ID somewhere, went back out to find it, and located it after a short search in the grass near the dining hall.
After that, I went back to my room, did my best to cool down for about half an hour, then set off again for my next class, which was even farther away than my first. It turns out that class was ALSO canceled, again because it was a discussion class, so I got to walk back to my dorm again. Oi...
Man, I'm gonna sleep well tonight.
