Return of the Revenge of the Son of Saying Hi to Josiah!
Re: Return of the Revenge of the Son of Saying Hi to Josiah!
Hey guys, guess what?
I wanna move in with my new friend Heather in a small town called Burford because her house rocks! (And I'm really hating my roommate...) heather and I are just better friends...and the guys love me (her fiancee and another guy living there)
But this one guy, called Trevor, well, let's just say the 4 of us party - hard last weekend, resulting of Trevor and I passing out on the couch together.
Wanna hear the better part? He's 29! 11 years older than me....
But yeah, I'm starting to get into a groove of getting drunk and playing rock band 2 and wii (It's so fun drunk!)
So hopefully this weekend goes OK (Trevor has the hots for me and I'm staying at Heathers friday - monday {no school monday!!}) and yeah, I'll probably get drunk again because well.....Smirnoff is so yummy >> Bleh, am I a horrible person?

Yeah, Alt+tab is nice, but whenever I do that I usually miss the program I'm actually looking for :P.Shadowman wrote:I hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate tabs.
You can't Alt+Tab through them and other programs.
With tabs, it's all there so you can see them. I usually do also use alt+tab because I usually have my e-mail (outlook express), a Word document and an internet up at the same time.
May the Triforce be with you.

Re: Return of the Revenge of the Son of Saying Hi to Josiah!
Hi! As if this week wasn't crazy enough, I got in a minor auto accident today.
Fortunately it was in a parking lot so neither me or the other person were going very fast. Even better (not so much for me though), her car is one of those old solid metal 'run into a boulder without taking much damage' SUV so it barely took any damage. I, on the other hand, got a good chunk of my rear bumper bashed in. So my car is in for repairs. I got insurance...but with a $1000 deductible. And, while you wouldn't think just replacing a bumper would cost that much, I got the feeling that they're gonna be replacing a whole bunch more stuff as well (though whether it needs to be replaced or they just want to bilk my insurance company is up for debate). On the upside, I'll actually be out of town visiting my grandpa most of the time it's in the shop, so that's kinda convenient.
Despite that, I still managed to got a lot of homework done...but I still have plenty for tomorrow including: a two page paper, a ten entry annotated bibliography, a quiz on APA formatting, a one page paper, several discussion posts, and a mystery assignment.

I don't think you're a "Horrible Preson" but getting drunk it probably not a good thing.Celebifly wrote:I'll probably get drunk again because well.....Smirnoff is so yummy >> Bleh, am I a horrible person?
I know I haven't been drunk since I've started drinking. (I waited till I was legal age- I'm 18 now! woot!) I'm just concerned- Do you remember what happened when you were drunk?
I'm determined NOT to get drunk. I think it's more fun if you can remember everything- and my logic is think of all the dirt you can have on the others around you that DO get drunk. Wow, I can only think of blackmail matrial. Does that make me a horrible person?
Anyhoo, drinking is fine, a few with your mates is great! (Provided you're legal age- I'm not telling the kids on this forum to go and drink. That's BAD!) Just don't overdo it... you never know what effects (short- an long-term) that it could be having... Holy Cow! Do I sound like a mother right now or what?
Also, yes, Smirnoff is yummy... But I suggest you try Malibu (or a cheap version of it as it can be quite pricey) Coconut Rum is yuuuuumy! Mix it with milk or coke or whatever. Make cocktails.. It's all good!
Wait... you're 18. What's the legal drinking age where you are? (It's funny that we're talking about our adventures in boozing on a forum that's mostly populated by people who are far too young to drink haha!)
But any wa you look at it- it's best just to stick to Pepsi anyway!

Re: Return of the Revenge of the Son of Saying Hi to Josiah!
Wanna know what's weird? In the dream I had last night, there were a bunch of people who were driking, but me as a kid could only drink water. And the kids weren't even offered the candy! *goes off in to some crazy argument about how her bizzare dream didn't give her candy*
What else happened in my dream was the smoke-detector went off. Not off off, just like when it starts beeping to warn you its low on batteries. In my dream, the smoke detector was there during our Marching Band practice. :P
When I woke up, OUR smoke detector was beeping because it's low on batteries. Weird, no?
Seems like the outside world continuously affects my dreams.....except for that one about a tidal wave and the legions of the dead. Not sure what was up with that one.

Bleh. Legal drinking age is 21 and I'm just fine with that. I hate the taste of alchohol. I remember my dad giving me a little sip, and it was nasty. Besides, I prefere Coke to Pepsi. Sorry opal, but Coke just tastes better for me.

So you remmber what kind it was? Because I agree a lot of alcohol DOES taste nasty! (Beer, champagne/white wines, Bourban, Bundaberg Rum... the list goes on...)Gardialvoir wrote: I hate the taste of alchohol. I remember my dad giving me a little sip, and it was nasty.

Whatitdo? I quite agree that Heroes was epic Monday. Although I'm alittle dismayed at how they brought Linderman back as a ghost/imaginary friend type thing. And why is it that whenever my back is turned, Peter finds a new way to become a jerk? Oh well. At least Sylar is back with a vengeance, and...A family?
Re: Return of the Revenge of the Son of Saying Hi to Josiah!
Legal is 19 in Canada (4 more months!)
But the whole point is that, it's actually more fu to get drunk under age, and then when you do turn 19, the excitment wears out, but then again, you get into bars :3

Hi! While drinking itself is ok if you're old enough (more fun or not, the law is the law), Astral's right, it's best not to get drunk. I mean what's the point? You act like an idiot, might end up doing something you'll regret later, and you get hung over. I really can't see any good points there... Though I'm not speaking from personal experience. I don't like the taste of alchohol no matter what type it is and, like I said, I can't see any point to getting drunk, so I don't drink.
Well, I'm stuck in my apartment today cause of not having a car and all, which means I'm missing the big manga sale at Borders.
But, I'll have more time to do all that homework I guess. And, since most of it involves being on the computer, I'll try and sneak in a Portal Panic update and maybe a few other posts later today.

Re: Return of the Revenge of the Son of Saying Hi to Josiah!
Yeah, I had a small sip of wine before. It was revolting. I had to have several glasses of juice and water to wash it out. I don't think I'll ever really drink alcohol. I've also had a sip of something my dad said was fruity flavored, but it was just as revolting as the wine. Blarg.
Oh, this talk of alcohol reminds me of somexperiment they did a while ago to test the placebo effect. The placebo effect is pretty much that when the mind believes something is happening, then your body reacts. For example, doctors have often given out placebo (fake) medicine that is in fact only sugar pills. The pacients have reported feeling better afterward, even though no medicine was given. It tricks the mind.
So, they did this experiment where they brought a bunch of people (who were legally old enough) and told them they were seeing how long it would take for alcohol to take effect. In realitly, all the people were given were non-alcoholic beer (well, it had small taces, but not enough to matter). After a few glasses, people were becoming more social, and some were becoming wobbly on their feet and had headaches. And there was no real alcohol, it was all the placebo effect!
Sorry, just felt the need to share that. Isn't it neat?

I remember at a Wedding, I had half a glass of Champagne. I tasted it, and it was pretty nasty, but it grew on me. SO I drank half of it until my mom told me that I couldn't have anymore.
Needless to say, I slept well that night.
Oh, and it was last year.

Heso! Now see... my outlook on drinking - to the point of being drunk, anyway - is like... if you really hate yourself so much that you want to forget who you are, shouldn't you be thinking a little more about improving your life than escaping from it? Drinking because you like the taste (how people enjoy something that smells so disgusting I'll never know, but anything's possible I suppose) is one thing, but drinking to get drunk is... well, stupid. You act stupid, you look stupid, you kill brain cells, you kill your liver, you inconvenience and annoy everyone around you, and you don't even remember it when it's over. Maybe I've just had one too many unfortunate run-ins with drunken wastes of skin, or maybe it's all they time they spent on Prohibition during history class and how many people died from drinking too much or improperly made alcohol... but I just don't have any patience for intoxication.
...And on a completely unrelated topic... Me and Itsuki were picked to be in charge of the Anime Club! Woo! Which means we set the guidelines for which anime we're going to watch and we get to approve or deny any anime requests made... and agreed on a few rules that knock most of our favorites out of the running. No Fanservice Spam and Nothing Mainstream. We did that so we won't have to watch Naruto, Death Note, or Inuyasha for the millionth time... but that means FMA, One Piece, and Gurren Lagann are off-limits. Thanks a lot, Nami and Yoko... So we're for sure watching Ichigo Mashimaro, Samurai Deeper Kyo, and Yakitate!! Japan... I've just five minutes ago started watching Mushishi, which we're probably going to watch at some point, but... outside of that we're kinda stuck. Anyone got any ideas for anime that aren't excessively violent, fanservice-y, yaoi, yuri, or mainstream?

"Irregardless" and "Over exaggerated" are NEVER CORRECT EVER because they are redundant
Regardless means "without regard", and adding "ir" on the front actually makes it a double negative; exaggerate means "to overstate" so you're literally saying "over overstate."
Example: I can not exaggerate the importance of this fact enough, regardless of how often people ignore it.

Hey!
I'm excited...my rulebook came in for hockey! Now, I can use it to take my open-book exam to become a ref!
The exam is kinda long, though, but they let you print it out so you can at first do it by hand and then put the answers in digitally. I printed mine out, and am working on it bit-by-bit (since I have too much to do and not enough time to work on it all at once).
Whoo! I'm gonna be a ref soon!
