Yes, it's a bump, but I gotta know.

Is The Living End as big in Australia as I'm told they are?

It really depends on where you go. I personally haven't heard of them untill now, but aparently their based in Melbourn in Victoria, so If you went there you'd probably hear a lot about them. (I live in Queensland) Although there's probably lots of people who have heard of them, I'm not exactly sure how high up they'd mesure on the popularity scale in Brisbane.

Do you know if they'd be comparable in popularity to say, Green Day, in the states or something?

Sorry I can't really help you there since, I don't live in the states and only just found out the band existed so I wouldn't be a great choice to ask.

Well I assume you mean in school, so since I didn't do history in high school, the only history lessons I remember would be the odd assignment here and there in primary school. Apart from that the would be the many assignment's I did on "Australian Identity" which pretty much involved looking at Australia's history trying to work out how certain points (such as Ned Kelly) in history made us what we are today. Which got very annoying and repetitive. Honestly, I suppose we are kind of stuck-up in that way aren't we.
But apart from that, I suppose it's alright.

Has Astral got anything to add?

Not really as I didn't do history either... and when we DID do history assignments at school, it was part of these experimental things that our school did called "Rich Tasks" Which I still don't understand.

Basically it was supposed to be a whole new way of teaching that involved having assignments that covered several subjects... it sort or amalgamated them… I don’t know.

So yeah, We didn’t really cover much.

What I do remember: We did a TINY amount on ancient Rome and I think perhaps Egypt… I learned more history by reading random books about mythology and everything in my spare time than in class. Then we had a few assignments in the unit called “Australian National Identity” (which I failed… epicly) and yeah, that’s about it.

SO yeah, again DIDN’T DO HISTORY!

( I probably would have continued doing SOSE had I enjoyed it more, and had we been allowed to pick more than the restrictive amount of subjects on offer..

We were only allowed to pick 6, and I favoured Physics over History- and I suck at that, Geography and anything else included in Social Studies…)

HOLY COW THAT WAS A LONG POST!!!

You mean you don't have to take Australian history? U.S. history's a requirement to graduate. I don't know why Ausraila schools would let you graduate without studing it's history.

Um... No offense here to the Austrailians, but maybe that's cause Australia really doesn't have all that much history. I mean, it's not like Australia had a very intense founding or any big wars or anything. Plus, it's not a very old country...
