The Phoenix Requiem (posting for Poik)

The comic Poik posted right before the Time Warp was The Phoenix Requiem. So that's now the comic for this week. You have until Wednesday to read it and comment, just like usual.

I've read this before, and it's excellent.

The storyline, I think is great, the artwork is excellent as well.

It's a very nice comment. 8/10

Well I added another comic to my ever growing list.

I like this one and how it's been developing. Art work is good and so is the story. All the chars are nice too.

Really don't have a favorit strip.

And as I posted last time, I've been reading this one since it's inception - it's by Sarah Ellerton, author and artist of Inverloch, y'know. Shauni posted that one a while back. And that's why Acheron makes a little cameo here (Yay I found the page). It also, by default, makes The Phoenix Reqiuem like the best thing ever. So yeah, I dare you to stop after just 50 pages.

Speaking of pages,this one'smy favorite.
"Irregardless" and "Over exaggerated" are NEVER CORRECT EVER because they are redundant
Regardless means "without regard", and adding "ir" on the front actually makes it a double negative; exaggerate means "to overstate" so you're literally saying "over overstate."
Example: I can not exaggerate the importance of this fact enough, regardless of how often people ignore it.

I read Inverloch back when we had it for the club so I naturally had some expectations going into The Phoenix Requiem. As expected, the art is excellent and the story has an interesting setup. My two big problems with Inverloch were the lousy ending and the poor pacing (which kept the character development from going as smoothly as it should have). TPR doesn't appear to be anywhere near the end so I can't say how that will go but, from what's there so far, I can say that the pacing so far has been a huge improvement over Inverloch's. There's a lot more time taken to show the characters and develop their personalities instead of just jumping from key event to key event one after the other like Inverloch did. Hopefully TPR will manage to stay that way now that the plot is starting to thicken.
Overall, it's a very good comic so far. I just hope it can avoid the mistakes Inverloch made.
