I appologize in advance for this...

On a scale from one to Chuck Norris, how big of a deal was Steve Irwin? He was popular in the U.S. of A, so I immagine, in Australia...
"Irregardless" and "Over exaggerated" are NEVER CORRECT EVER because they are redundant
Regardless means "without regard", and adding "ir" on the front actually makes it a double negative; exaggerate means "to overstate" so you're literally saying "over overstate."
Example: I can not exaggerate the importance of this fact enough, regardless of how often people ignore it.

Genrally, no, most people don't say Krikey at all, probably the only time you'd hear it was if someone was making a joke or talking about Steve Irwin

Appology accepted.

Steve Irwin was, and still is, a pretty big deal, I'm not sure If he made it all the way to Chuck Norris level, but I'm sure you could find plenty of people who think he did. Pretty much everyone knows who he is, weather they liked him or not is another matter.

But If you talking about a resteraunt named Outback Steakhouse then, no, not tht I know of.

Generally no, most wild kangaroo's you see will either be roadkill, or they will run, well hop/jump away from you. Really the only time they'd kick you is if you threatened their young, or you tried to have a kicking match, in which case expect them to kick, bite and scratch, but mostly kick.

There was this great entry on America's Funniest Home Videos where a wild Kangaroo hopped up behind a guy and kicked him into a pond...

Anyway, one more speech question. Do people call each other 'mate' a lot?

I'm from Australia too so... i wanna answer stuffs...

I dunno what southern accent is but, the australian accent is not like the english because the original australian settlers were convicts. The accent comes from these convicts which were reletively rough people.

Also, there's a lot of Australian slang that's used by the so called "hardcore" aussies. Examples I can't rili give, but there are quite a few. Like the phrase "fair dinkum" which is like, something fair and stuffs...
Anyway, one more speech question. Do people call each other 'mate' a lot?
depends on your interpretation on "a lot". I'd say yeah, a lot of people ranging from different races in australia use "mate". But not everyone does... I don't.... but probably cause i'm asian... but i know a lot of asians that say mate. Anyways, "mate" is used a lot in Australia in my opinion.

Yes it is, you see when we have christmas here I's usually hot because its summer. And a particually hot one this year when you add in the humidity, that and working in a kitchen that's about 10 degrees hotter then outside doesn't help. We need air-con!!!

It was pretty bad actually in some parts(such as where I live) and not so bad in others. We got up to level 6 water restrictions where I live, but theres been lots of rain recently and flooding in quiet a few area's. Although weather the restirictions are lifted or not is another thing because we don't know when we'll get more rain again. One the bright side the Farmers are overjoyed at the amount of rain.
