Oh! Pick me! I'm curious about America! Here's my question: Why can't you drive two miles without running into a freaking McDonalds?
Now, seriously... Didn't Josiah already have a thread like this? He did live in the U.S. prior to the Great Japan Adventure (Nihon no Daibouken?)... although my sources indicate that he lived in quite a different part of the U.S. than myself, Stevenson, and Poik. I think this thread needs renaming anyway, as Canada and Mexico are part of "America" and I'm not sure we can accurately answer about them. So maybe we could change them into Eastern and Western; I'm sure there are enough differences between the two to warrant different topics.

"Irregardless" and "Over exaggerated" are NEVER CORRECT EVER because they are redundant
Regardless means "without regard", and adding "ir" on the front actually makes it a double negative; exaggerate means "to overstate" so you're literally saying "over overstate."
Example: I can not exaggerate the importance of this fact enough, regardless of how often people ignore it.

So eventually, I started to lose faith... I thought you had been killed in that terrible, terrible war. Or maybe that you had forgotten about me. It's been so long, you probably found another girl over there... I never stopped loving you, but I didn't think you cared about me anymore, so welcoming you back just would have been too painful for me... I'm sorry. I'm glad you've come back home *sniff*

There ARE forests in New Jersey, believe it or not. They're called the Pine Barrens. And when you haven't had rain for a few weeks and the military's playing around with flares, they catch on fire quite easily. Gah... I didn't plan to disclose this information, but... I live right in the middle of the Pine Barrens, hence the evacuation. And I can't say if New Jersey's "really as bad as people say", on account of I've never been to the city, but the Pine Barrens certainly aren't so bad.

Yep. The middle of nowhere. And there are actually fires around here all the time, just not to the degree that anyone needs to be evacuated... until the government went and caused one, that is. The Pine Barrens need fire... as long as it's caused by lightning. That way there's usually rain along with it so it doesn't get far. But NOOO, they decide to go dropping flares JUST A LITTLE TOO LOW when the Smokey the Bear Sign outside the park says that "Fire Danger is VERY HIGH today"... [/bitterness]
