*It didn't take Glenn long to find a trainer. Glenn sent out eevee and staryu while the random guy sent out a geodude and a bulbasaur.*

"Staryu, use Watergun on the geodude! Eevee, sand attack on the green thing!"

"Bulbasaur, vine whip the star!" *The attack missed, leaving the random guy pretty angry.* "Ok then, tackle it geodude!"

"Water gun again staryu!" *The geodude took the hit and fainted.* "And another sand attack eevee!"

"Come on bulbasaur! Vine whip!" *It missed again.*

"Staryu, tackle! Eevee, sand attack!"

"Vine whip!!!" *Missed again.*

*Soon bulbasaur was KO'd without ever landing a hit.* "Gah! That sucked!" *Random Guy complained.* "Oh man... I don't want to give you have my money! No after I just withdrew my savings from the bank... Hey... I'll give you my bulbasaur instead of money. How about that? Useless thing was worthless in that battle but it's pretty rare around here so you might be able to sell it or something."

"I'll take it!" *Glenn grinned.* "But to train, not to sell." *Glenn took the pok?ball then hurried to the Pok?mon Center to heal his new bulbasaur.*

After healing Twister and Stripe - yes, that's what he nicknamed his Zigzagoon because he didn't expect to use it much and it wasn't worth coming up with some completely awesome nickname - and agreeing to meet at the gym, Silver set out to do anything he'd left undone before. That meant collecting a few things he'd left at home because he was too lazy to take them out to the lab when he'd just be walking right back anyway, showing off his Pokedex to a few old friends that didn't have Pokemon yet, and battling those that did. Of course, Twister alone could have come out on top every time because most of those Pokemon were only pets, but it was more for Stripe, anyway. The other trainers only agreed to battle a liscenced trainer because the low-leveled, inexperienced Zigzagoon wouldn't stand a chance in a gym match and needed the practice. They took down a Growlithe and a Grimer, and a Sentret and a Snubull pretty easy. The only really interesting battle was against a Phanpy and a Psyduck, the trainer being, well, an actual trainer and not just a pet owner. Of course, enough Gusts, Quick Attacks and Tackles brought them down.

Silver headed for the gym a bit early - he was sure the others were exploring the town, and since he already knew the place like the back of his hand, he didn't have much else to do. Of course, Silver found a way to entertain himself soon enough... "Sweet! A Wingull! It won't do me much good against Wet Willie, but this thing's MINE!" he said to himself. Twister, who was still perched on his shoulder, flapped its small wings several times to take to the skies before charging at the Water/Flying typed Pokemon with a Tackle attack. The Wingull fought back with Water Gun, which pushed Twister back a little but after the stream had stopped it flew back at its target. Silver threw a Pokeball at the weakened Pokemon and it was his.

The next thing on Stevenson's to do list-the last thing before the gym leader-was to get one more pokemon. However, some kid kept keeping him from getting into the grass they came from, so he couldn't get a pineco yet. He looked around the town, figuring out some way to get apst him. That's when he heard it.
"AND STAY OUT!" cried a man from a nearby diner.

"NAAAAUUUT!" cried the wynaut, as she felt the boot of the manager kicking her out of the restaraunt.

Stevenson hurried up to the man. "Err, not to intrude, but what's wrong with the wynaut?"

"It keeps eating meals it doesn't pay for! It's owner left it here yesterday...."

Stevenson asked the obvious question to an underused pokemon fanatic. "So.....can I have it?"

"Sure, the thing caused too much trouble around here anyways."

And thus, bubbles the wynaut became Stevenson's third pokemon.

(Looks like I started 'getting a new pokemon here' trend...eh)

Opal decided to train her Swablu since it would have a better advantage in the gym. She noticed a trainer coming out of the pokemon centre.
"Hey boy! Wanna have a battle?" She asked him.

"I dunno...I just lost a battle, so I hardly have any money left...and i need enough to ride the bus home..."

"I don't care about the money. We can battle for fun. And experience! But mostly for fun...ok?"

"Fine....go Phanphy and Psyduck!"

"Come on out Mud-chan and Cream!" Opal tossed her balls and out came her Mudkip and Swalbu who she nick named Cream.

"Phanphy, tackle! Psyduck, scratch!"

"Dodge and use Water gun and peck!"
Swablu flew up to dodge and flew down and pecked the Psyduck, and Mudkip dodged and used water gun, which was super effective, so Phanphy was down for the count. 

"Arg! Psyduck, use scratch again!" Psyduck managed to scratch Mudkip.

"Now, tackle and Peck!" That finished the Psyduck.
"Yay!"

"Ah man...gotta go heal again..." He mumbled as he trailed off.

*After healing his new bulbasaur, Glenn managed to find a couple more trainers. The trainers weren't particularily good so he just used the battles as a chance to try out his new pok?mon. Although the bulbasaur was initially a bit confused about switching trainers, it warmed up to Glenn and his other pok?mon pretty quickly. After one last trip to the Pok?mon Center to heal up, Glenn decided that it was time to try his luck at the gym and headed off in that direction.*

After training her new Swablu-Cream, and healing them countless time, Opal decided she and her blue pokemon were ready to battle Willy.
"I wonder if the guys are there yet..." She thought to herself, walking to the gym.

((Dang, I just remembered the wyauts-though infinitley useful once evolved into wobbuffets-have no real attacks. Blast.))

After training bubbles and the rest of his pokemon a tad more, he decided to head off for the gym. He thought that every one else would probably beat him by the time he got their though, as everyone was so zealous.

Neo headed over the the the pokecenter to heal his Caterpie. After waiting afew moments he got his pokemon back. Neo excited out of the center.

"Man, I need to train abit now. Need to get you more frienldy and I need to battle with Caterpie." Then Neo got an idea.

"How about I let you 2 battle eachother?" Said Neo to his Eevee. "Get's two birds with one stone."

After training for a while longer and healing his Pokemon once more, Neo made his way to the Gym to meet the others.

"There you are, Neo! We were just about to give up and go in without you," Silver exclaimed when he saw Neo approaching them. The rest of the group had been waiting there for a while and had let all the new Pokemon they'd caught out to get acquainted with each other, but they were all called back when Neo finally arrived.

Glenn was closest to the door and reached to open it when the final member of their group arrived, (font color's darkgreen) but someone else beat him to the job - someone Silver recognized after looking past the 'ghetto' attire. He was about Silver's age and had moved into Gateon a while back.

"Ben?! I was wondering why I didn't see you around! Where were-"

"Uh, sorry, Silver, but it's 'The Ben' now."

It seemed as though they'd been planning their entrance, because it was then that 'The Ron' appeared from behind the corner of the gym they were all loitering around.

"Oh, great," Silver said sarcastically, "Mister Definite Article's back. What happened to your fan club? Did they finally realize you were nothing but talk?"

"No! They were cramping my style. It's just me and The Ben now, because he actually has Pokemon that aren't COMPLETE scum. He lived in Hoenn a while ago, which is also vastly superior to this stupid region."

"I'm amazed you know what 'Superior' means..."

Opal rolled her eyes.

"It looks like stupidity is spreading..." She sighed, crossing her arms.

"And if your pokemon aren't completly worthless, what about a little battle?" She asked, grabbing for two pokeballs.

"Well, all right... go on, Rose and Lilly!" 'The Ben' released an Oddish and a Tropius (I swear, I had that planned BEFORE the person with two water types challenged him! Good thing you've got Cream, eh?)

"How'd he get his hands on a Tropius, anyway?"

"It doesn't matter! The Ben, this isn't time to be battling these losers! There's a gym RIGHT THERE in case you haven't noticed! The LAST thing I want is them getting their badges BEFORE us because we had to go heal your stupid plants!"

"But... if I win, my Pokemon'll get experience points and they'll have to go heal at the Pokemon Center, too!"

"It's not IF you win, idiot, it's WHEN you win. Only losers lose, and they're all losers."

"This will be a challenge..." Opal sighed as she tossed two balls. "Go, Mud-chan and Cream!"

"Mudkip!"
"Swablu!"

"Alright, let's get this started, Cream, fly up and use Peck on that Oddish! Mud-chan, tackle it!" Opal ordered as the two physical attacks bombared Rose/Oddish.

It took Stevenson a second to get over the sad truth of what he had just said.

"There's really no time for a battle. We gotta go in the gym, or else supid and stupider will get their badges first."

Neo made his way over to Glenn. "I'll join you. As much as I like seeing battles, I want to get a move on. The sooner we beat this gym, the sooner we can get to the next one."
