The woman is a pastor (or justice of the peace or whatever), she performed the marriage ceremonies for the men.

I just recently heard this on chatango (how I stay sane, by speaking to english speaking people)
except with a male marrying women, anyways.

an alternate solution is that she married them in a country that had no law saying how many husbands she could have, but the one you guys have suggested's the one i've heard.
